Flowers and chocolate always work.
Done that a time or two as well 😂
Ha so true!
You know it 😉
The bees are adorable ❤
We think so too!🐝
This was so cool thank you for the video. Keep making video. They’re awesome.
Thank you! Very encouraging to us!
Hello I'm in NC close to midway before you get to Winston Salem where is this duck lady and how can I buy 5 baby ducks like your babies😊
Hi!! She is in Garner, NC! We got Ancona ducks from her! Here’s her FB page, if you want to send her a message with what you want and she’ll let you know when you can pick them up! facebook.com/jamietheducklady?mibextid=LQQJ4d
That is me with my chickens
I have some five week and one week rn These ones are very adventurous compared to the babies last summer.
And watching the chickens
My chickens love eating my rose bush and the roses
Yes it’s too funny ha
All frigging day. They are at my door and window making sure of it!
Get it girl❤
They are indeed
They are so cute❤
Sorry about the quail!! Raccoons and opossum will reach right thru bars! 😒 mean.... Are you organic gardening? It's quite a struggle, but we've always done the best we can!!!! I'd love about 4 more acres 😉 That rooster show though!!!!! 😆🥊🐓
Thank you 😔 We have a safe coop for them now, so no more predators can get them like they did! Yes, organic gardening! We just picked our first zucchini and squash! We love our roosters 😂
QUAIL YEAH
Nobody has sacrificed their life for my freedom, all wars of past have been done by the global bankers puppet Masters, sending their slaves in to make them more money.
That is curious.
Thank you for your share I have a 3-week going on 4 weeks do you know how old do they have to be with other chicks that they haven't been around before?
I would put them in a separate cage with the other chickens for a week or two. Let them see the chicks and get used to them being around each other and then supervise them as they greet each such other. It’s not so much the age that matters, it’s the chickens getting used to each other. Use a dog crate for now so they get used to each other. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for your advice I really appreciate it & God bless you 🙏
Omg!!!!
!!!!
God absolutely provides! Love watching your family journey. This is so exciting. Love you both!
We have a couple of tomato cages in our shed- let us know if y’all want them!
We may take you up on that!
If you don't mind me asking. What was the total cost for this build?
The total cost was just south of $900. You can build it cheaper if you go on Facebook market place and look at pallets and wood that might be for sale. We were in a bit of a rush. We still got a great deal at a local wood mill! I would definitely recommend going to a local wood mill. You will get a cheaper rate on the wood and metal paneling.
I just want to share, that If you are getting pasty butt like that, you need to change your food. Most times pasty butt is caused by nutritional deficits and/or too much heat. Sometimes it can stressed related too. But your chicks look comfy and chill (I'd give a tad but more space, its 0.5-1 sq ft per bird). I have raised hundreds of chicks and have never had pasty butt. If you really don't want to change your food, you could also try adding in some rooster booster or nutritional yeast.
Thank you for the tip! We will absolutely keep that in mind when we start raising more. We think it was stress related due to our cats sneaking into the room and scaring them.
Do your ducks leave the crops alone?
They don’t really go over to the garden much. They stay on the side of the yard where the coop is most of the time. They love playing in the woods more than the open field.
Geese will protect them from forest widllife.
Thanks! We’d love to get some one day!
🦆
Exactly
Even as troublesome and messy as they are, they're still so darn cute! And that chicken with the afro is something else.
We totally agree ☺️ and the top hat chickens turned out to look awesome 😂
Very true❤
I did not
Well now you do!
They’re so funny
Quail. You won't regret it. They are really easy, don't eat much, mature quickly and provide year round meat
Adding it to our list! Thanks!
Anybody who thinks raising chickens for eggs is cheap is ignorant and deluded.
We are still waiting on the $1,000 egg😂
Love this guy ❤he is free and happy
We are all free and happy here at the Harvestlore homestead 😊

We are super excited about it! The honey should be delicious next year!
Omg I’m so excited about this! My dream is to have a bee hive. How cool
You should get one!
And they are just gorgeous ! I think I smell them through my screen😊
Aww thank you!! ❤️🌹
That is a wonderful coop! So nice to see your family working together. I love the variety of chicks you have.
Thank you so much! We feel so blessed!
Better ventilation for the hen house, you have to block off nesting boxes so chickens wont sleep there, you dont want poopy eggs, roost bar inside hen house must be higher than nest boxes to prevent chickens from sleeping in nest box, if you have heavy nocturnal predator pressure, upgrade to hardware cloth...if you are in it for true homesteading, not making cute video's for TH-cam, Don't give names to chickens or get attracted to the animals, processing and culling is part of homesteading.
Thanks for sharing! We have talked about cutting out a window in the coop for better ventilation. We may end up putting hardware cloth on the coop but the chicken wire seems to work fine at the moment. Thanks for watching!
My new chicks will be here next week around May1-2.. I also bought 4 Royal Palm turkeys to go along with them.. Glad to see your little chick got ok..
That’s awesome!!! They are so much fun. Our little chick is now the healthiest of the bunch!
That's a good looking chicken coop but if you're going to let them free-range the hawks are going to pick them off
Thank you! So far we haven’t had any problems. The hawks have stayed away due to the metal roofing around us and the amount of crows we have in the area. But we keep an eye out when we see them 😊
@Harvestlore_nc if you got a decent rooster and the chickens have places to hide in the woods, it should be pretty safe.
