Funny, this video is what brought this channel to my attention-- if still intending to review them, my impulse is to sub... --i mean, it may not the most consistent or well thought out of books, but, like early iterations of Exiles, it will always hold a place in my heart... i say keep at it. With the caveat of admitting that i often enjoy some pretty lame books...

Ooohh, nice Kubert cover. It's a pin-up, but a 'classic Joe' pin-up of those two characters. Yes, you do need to know more about them! You sound like you're self-learning the various Cobra Vipers pretty well! And continuing with that 'classic' aspect in regards to the storytelling - yeah, it is that way, maybe moreso now because this infiltration by Joe and building action behind the scenes focused on Cobra Island feels like Hama's part-retelling for this new Image acquisition, part continuation of the conflict's overall saga. Yo Joe! What th- I dunno what error happened with that printer...looks like these pages came off of OLD dot-matrix rollers. Despite that, this art looks great...this is what I'm talking about, for GI Joe series. I particularly liked how it looked on that right-side page of Duke in the G.I. Joe control room with other Joes. You've seen the word “Arishkage” before - hint, it's Snake Eyes' adoptive clan. The Cobra Mamba helicopter has two detachable, self-propelled flying “pods” on each side of the main cockpit. All-right, this issue's full of the arsenals of vehicles and characters in this franchise. Fuuun G.I. Joe comic. Payoff's building and gotta come, soon...? Thanks for this, Marinus, and I'm glad you're having fun learnin'. Knowing is half the battle! 'Til sooner rather than later, be well and have a good and unstressed week.

Since you asked with this review's subtitle, and you “mused casually” on a related note with your latest unoxing video over “being careful” not to begin reviewing so many separate series: no, quit this trash. Mackie - what have you done? Ex-FACTOR. I'm at a good, constant pace as of this new year to crack open the X-Factor by Peter David omnibus in a couple of months (reading Marvel chronologically, through other titles first). It's too bad for '90s Marvel comics, that I have to agree with you and also state: Cary Nord (interior artist), what have you done? I think it's ideal to refer to Indiana Jones, Sr.'s sage wisdom from the end of The Last Crusade, yet again...”Indiana. Let it go.” Instead, re-read the earlier writers who DID have a respectful grasp of these characters while coming up with interesting and FUN things for them. I thank you for making these videos and for asking this input of your viewers, my Dark Syde friend. Onwards! And we're gonna review, and watch those videos about, some better comics. 'Til then, have a great day!

I remember him doing good work, right? hmmm maybe my memory is failling on this one. The sad thing is: I like the concept of an alternate Universe with different X-men ( broken and corrupted) and Aelx is the one to holding it all together. Well i'm doing a couple of them to see wrap up the story and from there we will see, Mighty Mike. Onwardss indeed :) See you soon!!!

Ah, now that is a comic book cover - much less, a 'supers' comic cover. Literally brilliant, it deserves to be upheld alongside those of Kenneth Rocafort and Michael Turner. You have to be careful? Not to start reviewing 'too many' series, simultaneously? The Three Fates. Like the Norns. Marty! Doc! “Jiggawatts!” Maybe a flying Delorean that runs on garbage through a food blender. Brutal deaths in here, as you know Superman acting in vengeance is only going to be immediately fatal - no matter which reality or parallel dimension. More excellent Loeb storytelling from this series that he began/relaunched. Supes and Bats comfort food for a Sunday. Gratitude to you for opening up this book today, my friend. Chairman of the Hoard, you could more easily open a box one-handed, with an electric-powered knife or cutter. If you wanted to make more of a stunt of your videos' openings. Your current knife is fine and not-old. I just read FF the sci-fi comic #95, out Feb. 1970 - 9 more issues to go - and the ushering in of the supernatural in pop culture of the '70s was already perceptible. Comparable to this likewise-'70s “sci-fi” FF supernatural-tinged cover of Franklin being possessed. I've re-read the floppies of Return of the Sinister Six multiple times over the decades since I collected it as back issues a few years after it had come out. Erik Larsen's peak era. Darkhawk was sadly yet another '90s crossover cameo/side character as easily dropped and forgotten as introduced. After the mid'-80s, there can be only Dark Horse Star Wars. I have THREE Rogue Squadron omnibuses, Tales of the Jedi and the Dark Empire trilogy (I don't even remember #3). Crimson Empire, I never read but its covers always piqued my interest. Mike Richardson himself on cover credits? I'm skeptical of Stan Lee's DC work but the rest of this haul's a fun box of '80s-'90s comics of supers. Thanks for your share, now go enjoy and organize these and your doubles while I'm going back to my gorging on 1970 and 1990 Marvel. Has Miller's writing mind gone through a mental woodmill's chipper machine? Weeell...this WAS after Ronin, his Daredevil run and The Dark Knight Returns - but, did you SEE his whacko self in Robocop 2!? Although with that said, I DO still want to read his comic “adaptation” of Robocop). Besides, even after he did broadcast himself maybe not “acting” as another character but as himself in Robocop 2, he still wrote or finalized Sin City and 300. Both of which are great. Er, I own both films, anyway. Haven't actually read those, yet. Hey, what's with the white rabbit shown leaping away from the speeding Batmobile, in the lower left corner of page one? Ah, your voice isn't grinding and growling enough to impersonate the “Christian Bale voice" - which is good, 'cause if you tried, I think you'd have to hurt your throat, and would end up coughing into the mic. Oh, there you go, eventually you get there to sounding like he did. Don't start your throat on fire with that voice! Yeah man, what's going on in Frank Miller's mind at this period in time? He drinking the same kind of tea that Claremont did while writing Deadliest of the Species? Lee & Williams' (essential combination) art looks great - your opinion of Lee and the DC brand (in general) is absolutely accurate and correct; fact rather than opinion. Sorry, Marinus, I'd meant to make this a shorter comment but apparently I had things to tell you. Anyway, a distraction before we each go on to better comics for today at least. Thanks for your efforts/sacrifice and have a fine lead-in to your weekend, too!

Uh, alright. The story is...confusing. The title character is now, apparently, gone...again. Though, this time does seem final. The fake main character through misdirection, the lumberjack, is also dead already. If not misdirection, then...confusion. This writing could be too interpretive. Metaphors are all well and good, but...I still don't know who Little Bird is. Other than, she was evidently known or discovered to have some kind of life-saving blood type. Nice, pretty art...I've decided that it looks like a Belgian or French style...but the writing is confusing with perhaps unnecessary depth. Interesting, but...odd. Thanks again for something creative through the Image brand, Marinus. The temperature here has warmed up for the rest of this week. Have a good second half of yours!

Terrifically horrific cover image, even if that same layout composition had been made by another artist other than Alex Ross. I have a fondness for the Grey Hulk, from an intrigue since my youth that's gone unfulfilled until only in the past few years. Likewise for Joe Fixit specifically, as a separate persona and through the likes of Peter David's run (and your review of The Incredible Hulk #335). However, this omission of Hulk in general and Grey Hulk specifically while transferring full focus except for the physical gamma strength onto Bruce Banner, doesn't appeal to a Hulk comic reader. Combined with a perceivable lack of “monster” special effects (other than that one Kyle Hotx-like panel of “body horror” at 7:22), this script comes across as - wait for it, you guessed it - yet another made-as-a-television-series-instead-of-comic-book production. Not only written like one. Look at the sequential art here; it actually does look like viewing a TV show. Otherwise, it's cool to see more of Bushwhacker. It does make sense for him to accept working for the CIA, since they made him what he is. Those are coincidental insects, Marinus - no influence from Klendathu in that bug colony. This is okay but would've excelled if grey Joe had been included, as he always should've. At least I couldn't/didn't make out whatever P.C. text continues to be interjected into the storytelling. Need more Hulk and more imagery like on this cover. Besides that, thank you for another comic review, Marinus. Have a fantastic day!

Indeed. The shadow is omnious. Me too. There is something about him that is intruiging. I was a bit confused too. I get where they are going for, but...he almost broke his hand on Bushwackers face (and in pain) , but then a moment later he si gettting blown full of holes, losinga ton of blood and he stand there smiling. Bushwacker is avillain that i know little about. Seeing him more in this book is cool. He is made of plastic 😃. Dammit wish i saw those bugs bite his face of. "It's afraid!!!"😛. I hope we gonna see more of him in future issues. Would be nice. Yeah indeed. Thanks for watching/commeting and liking , Mike. Much appreicated as always. havev a great one😀

Does Hawkman have a ship? I know that all of his multiple, varying incarnations make for character (over)complication, but in what I have read and am still reading across multiple versions of the Hawk, I've never come across some presumably Thanagarian vessel. The creator of the Metal Men - I can't tell if they're living metal, some kind of organic machines, or cyborgs - made up organic, not metallic, robots. With which to free heroes from the mechanical worms. Which Green Lantern then proceeds to somehow do on his own, to Captain Cold, on the very same page! So...why Metal Men maker's “organic robots”, then? Captain Marvel grew some even more buff thighs when he stood up, with yellow lightning rolling over him. He wasn't a sucker - just fooled by mind worms. Looks great, of course. Where did all of those alternate costumes come from, on that two-page spread at the end? Even though it looks cool. Yes, this remains an interesting not only fun-looking series. I see why you have it in collected format. My gratitude for another review Marinus, and enjoy your next week...I'm going to read some comics, for myself. Take care and catch ya sooner or later, my friend!

Yes. He and Hawkgirl has this starship (it's from the 80's). Alex Ross has an appreciation of the classic lore of said characters. You can see it in the costumes, behaviour etc. I admire that. Same here. What makes them alive? I beleive Gl can de-activate or remove the bots from said body, butthey are still vulnerable to be taken over again (somehow). Yeah Marvel looks dangerous. Unfortunatly i t didn't work out. Too bad. I like him battleing Supes for a while. Just like in Kingdome Come. Those are the robots covering the heroes, maybe with some modifications/ Flas and Atom were busy in the lab. Yeah the HC is cool too :). Strangely enough i never read it in full. Glad you liked it, Mike. Hope you have some cool readings :)

This would be the continuation to the unpleasant and perhaps most necessary side to Soluna's character arc. Finally, we're getting her name right. I say perhaps, because whether this personal development through suffering needs be so harsh and cruel on this character is debatable. From the highest, deified, class of living to the lowest and lowliest on this world, though. Whew, this was a harsh revelation for Soluna, and quite a transformation from what she began as. Yes, Pigeon guy's family meets up with her...”saved”...right. I'm sure that her mere proximity to them now doesn't mean a plague upon the three birds and their horsie. Foreboding! Interesting that the back cover is a full-page ad for the next issue. This keeps being an enjoyable series, even though it doesn't come across as being the same publisher as for Rook: Exodus nor even like an “Image” comic. Nonetheless, carry on this adventure. Thank you once more from me for revealing this title from relative obscurity. May the end of your week be entertaining, Marinus, and I wish you well 'til the next.

The payoff comes, at least bird boy's does, for the rising vengeance of this tale of revenge and redemption. The violent, gory depiction further belies any naive impressions presented by anthropomorphic, animal-people characters. Kratos with a beak is darkening his heart as he steps forth on his self-imposed quest at therapy through mangling his deceitful, previously unseen overlords. As usual, this series looks great. Not only is it not a miniseries - it's one of the most enjoyable series that you've been currently reviewing. Much gratitude to you, Marinus Darksyde sir, and have a pleasant weekend.

This one had so many background character and vehicle references that were familiar or I recognized but I still couldn't quite bring up the names of. Maybe the most yet of all the issues so far, for me. Page one, panel one: an orange Doomsday is one of the repair men. Panel three: Firelord, peeking into frame on the edge of the left side, has been given a face that looks like Shock-Headed Peter's goofy face! The partner of Duane, haha. Page six, panel two, wherein Irma says “grief counselling software” to Joe: the background guy one the green-coloured flying sled-thing is a character riding his vehicle from Masters of the Universe. Page ten, of King Peacock comin' home, panel two: the curbside background vehicles are Luke's landspeeder coloured green, and a desert skiff from Jabba the Hutt's palace. The next page, eleven, in the last panel of Peacock's female partner Jackson walking away: the Absorbing Man, also green, is walking out of frame on the left side, pulling his ball and chain. Hospital's first page: I first saw Dr. Fate, and then Dr. Death. You are not wrong about the guys on the next page, too; Who and Fu. Who IS that in the background at the funeral that you point out: the man holding the cane with its tip hovering above the ground, next to an equally levitating body wearing the noose? Weird! As before there are too many references to make out in the graffiti - which looks so authentic. 'Electric' Pete's ignorance, in more ways than one, was expected and funny. I find it so ironic that you 'must' self-censor that specific word that you do, in the name of Google. Thanks for going through the penultimate issue of this hidden gem, Marinus. Enjoy more comics, have a great day, and hopefully your January is continually good!

“But with that much power comes great liability”...uh huh, that's where WB's DC is blatantly acknowledging what they've done with this character. Which also likewise puts the little lie to their “New Age of Heroes”. As it were, “DC's Peter Parker”, but after 80 years...why? This doesn't look like a DC comic. But it's okay. I can't tell how likeable the main character actually is. His typical 'Net obsession just like that of the vast majority of modern kids sucks. I have relatives as examples. Rocafort's art deserves good writing AND designs, for once. Sideways' costume design (despite its origin) and character certainly have potential. It seems, with “new” characters, this TPB is more worthwhile than the trades of his art desecrating new “Teen Titans” and “Red Hood and the Outlaws”. I used a lot of quotation marks here. Have a pleasant New Year's week, I guess, Marinus. Thanks for the review and I'll catch ya tomorrow!

Hey is a modern teenager that lives in...well modern times (hence the obsession with being famous online), but that is not very prevelant here. I like the costume deshing and colors too. Very different then other colors. Rockafort is very good at those. Oew i need the Red Hood too (also by him right) if only for that Firestar page. Yowzaa!!!🤩. You too, my friend. Number one hundred sixty-five, just in time for 2025! You must acquire Rook: Exodus #4 as soon as possible. Strange, that the specific issue's so elusive. However...Hyde Street does look intriguing. The cover image to issue #1, alone - intrigues. An effectively bizarre-supernatural-creepy picture, combined with the mysteriousness of “Hyde Street” itself. Is everybody sure that this “Ghost Machine” isn't the TRUE, successor, new “Image Comics”? I don't fear monkeys...and I've been in the Costa Rican jungle, next to a family of howlers. I am pretty tired of Daniel Warren Johnson. And what the interior artist previously pushed only evokes...”anti-confidence”. It's Darksyde's gamble! Place your bets! Roll the dice! Play your hand! Sideways has an uphill effort ahead, to impress me. I've seen Rocafort draw for poor designs and concepts under the “DC” banner already. And, ah, Groken: “blow-your-mind” art, not so well written for two going on three books now. Dan Didio!? Uh oh, Dan Did-oh-NO. I'm still looking forward to where The Sacrificers goes. This was yet another good haul, of atypical, non-superhero, non-Big Two comics, good sir! Thank you for sharing and showing them for the last eve of the last day of 2024, Marinus! I hope your night's turned out enjoyable, my friend! Stay awesome.

Lots of new books. Love it. I think they call it creator owned comics, publsiher nby Image. Smart, if you ask me. baaahhh. i don't like them :/. 😂 I want classic traditional art like the next guy. Unfortunatly that's not the case anymore ( not much in the mainstream), so i get were you're coming from. We will see if those books are good. I keep u posted, but i have afeeling you won't like it😅. Maybe i'm a bit biased when it comes to Rocafort's art. The story of groken is slow burn, but i reall ylike the hihg fantasy thing he is doing. Hope Vol.3 is gonna deliver that. I thought so too, Mike. Some fun comics for sure. Ps i've bought Hardware:the man in the machine TPB from DC/Milestone. collect issues 1-8. Same colors as Icon. Pretty fun so far. Has some flaws but it has a more harder/grittier tone then Icon. More like a blend of Warmachine/punisher style. I'm gonna show it of soon. Allright you too, my friend. take care and be healthy

That's an unexpected shame, that this Walt Simonson-created and presumably -helmed series had a “troubled production”. I think I had known of Star Slammers as “incomplete”. It seems like if Simonson was going to return to this series to give it a proper conclusion or continuation, he already would have. Sure, I heard the slang “vidiot” back in the '90s, didn't you? Whoa yeah, Star Slammers does come across as a lot more expansive and epic in scope. Just by the continually introducing, expanding cast of characters. Only four issues? It already seems to require more than that. We'll see! Otherwise, this is original Simonson, and his very first too. It's always maintained a good reputation, so what else is there to say but, read it? Thank you for showing it, which makes sense of the various issues/volumes across various publishers, Marinus. Hopefully you've exited any hectic period of December that you might've had to go through. Either way, take care, be well, see you again soon!

The story is too big and there is aLOT going on in this book Yes in several movies, even in the 80's. Four is too few for this story. It needs to be bigger, because the story is bigger. I'm still glad i have this series. The concept is cool, the characters are cool etc. Man summer cannot get here soon enough. I need sunlight. I look like a cavedweller 🤣. Alright, what in the name of the White Queen's Hellions was in Englishman Chris Claremont's tea? Mushrooms? This cover image is art gallery-Expressionist painterly. In that, it reflects the writing's unfocus, specifically in why Karyn is perpetually behaving and dressing like that. Since when, did humans abduct the lead Predator's “kids”!? Those decapitated heads posted on either side of crucified Karyn do not indicate that the people absconded with only their bodies. Rather, that the Predator wants revenge for the death of other Predators by humans. At least that seems apparent from the black-and-white flashbacks, which otherwise don't clarify much. I do not understand what the Hellboy is going on with all of the other humans, trapped or captured, being kept alive and even trained in physical capabilities? And so here goes Claremont's non-X-Men (or maybe X-Men-honed) meandering, high-altitude narrative...approach. Tendencies. Why would either of the two title extraterrestrial species keep a group of humans alive, to train in abilities those humans can use to kill the monsters? This is where the common criticisms of this long story's writing stemmed from, in the customer reviews that I'd read online of the Dark Horse omnibuses containing this. Two more issues to go. I dunno...I still have several, lingering questions of “why?” that persist. Jackson Guice's art looks good as usual, at least. Oh well, thank you, Marinus (although, WHAT is with the “person” under “People mentioned” that Google attached beneath your video's description!? 🤪🤣). Have a fine last few days to this year, and I'll catch you again soon!

The problem with this series is, is that it seems to skip over some very important story bits. it's so weird. Also that. Is there an unspoke understanding between the humans and aliens? Why and how? arghhh. The custom,er reviews are right. A lot's of "why's". Well those wuestions have to wait, Mark hahha. Ehhh? i just saw that xDDD. have a great day and i see you....next time!!

From out of my recent large haul, I caught up with you on this at last during the past day; having gone through #11-19. You didn't time travel to read this, Marty McFly. You read this in 2008 or 2009. The cornerbox dressing even marks the month AND year 😛. Dale Eagleshan's Jay Garrick looks oddly decrepit and even geriatric compared with any other artist's portrayal that I've seen. In Kahndaq, the formation of flowers is not that large and Black Adam is not hovering that high up, for him to be able to discern what it is. So, I don't know why he'd think that other passersby wouldn't be able to see the symbolic image. With Hawkman's earlier remark in a previous issue, I'd wondered if he was going to propose some kind of splitting of the Society into two team rosters. But first, there's hitting friends with his mace. Finally, Starman's chest must really hurt very much at the end of this issue. The action certainly has picked up since Gog's strolling bestowment of 'miracles', eh? This is very interesting, especially from my particular reader's perspective, and I wonder about how it will turn out. More than some of John's other, long storylines in his previous “JSA” series. Thanks for reviewing, Marinus, have an entertaining end to this final week of 2024 and I'll talk at you...for your next one. 😁

I really love the artwork of this comic because of how sexy the female characters and their hourglass figures like Wonder Woman and Artemis.

I've never seen Attuma or any underwater supervillain ally together this or any other spread of aquatic-themed villains; some of whom I didn't know before their mentions here. Yowza youch, Larsen's drawing really takes a turn into Cartoon Network cartooniness here, particularly in simplicity of facial expressions. This is starting to look like Archie Comics. Silver Surfer looks like an alien Grey. The joking is out of control - what is this, Disney rubbish? This is the Defenders waging “all out war to free Atlantis”? It's fun, if...the reader removes his brain from his skull? Larsen's writing sucks; I dunno how you guys could abide by his Savage Dragon savaging. Much less, anybody not mentally damaged enduring 300+ issues. This volume inspires a reader to read the original, true Defenders title, and compels me to look up the other members of Deep Six I didn't know. Zip, that's it. Thanks for more looks at the Defenders as a team overall who I didn't pay attention to before your reviews, Marinus. 'Til next time - I'm gonna finally catch up on my big parcel of floppies delayed due to postal strike. Have a good, relaxing final weekend of 2024!

I can't remember either. I only saw a Walter Simonson's page from X-factor that he beating Marvel Girl lol. Yeah the faces are bad. So goofy. I hate it. yeah that is the word. Shut your brain off and laught at the sillines ...ahum. The beginning of cringe in Marvel comics. I quit Dragon along time ago. it went nowhere. There was barely a story that i remember. Yes. i'm hunting the Vol.1 BEFORE #25. Those are very hard to get. I almost got the rest. No worries, Mike. I love to cover comics as you probably know 😛. You already got the books. Nie let me know what you got. Have a great weekend in the meantime :)
