I just bought the Helix 5 a week ago for my new kayak. My question I have for you is: What kind of Ice Transducer do you use for ice fishing? Your video will help me a great deal setting up my Helix5 for open water and ice fishing here in Colorado, your video it is very detailed, and I appreciate it immensely!! Thank you. Gunter

Flashers have outlived their usefulness! Transducers don't know if they are .being used through a hole in the ice or over the side of a boat!!
Does the helix 5 offer side view for finding fish 10 or 15 ft away from boat

Why does mine say "simulation"
Great video as far as basics go. If I want to check different things out on the Helix 5 I go to simulator mode. You can mess with the parametric settings & compare settings. Find something that works? Use it in regular mode.. you can always go back to factory settings if you get in to deep.
how do you go back to factiry setting

Do you use fish ID feature?
i cant get my sonar to start maybe pressing the hidden sonar button will alowy sonar to turn on
Do you know how I get this little orange arrow to go away? It’s on my sonar and it blocks like a tenth of the screen at times with nothing. Have you dealt with that?

Don’t turn it on with the transducer hooked up unless you’re on the water, dude! Unless you just like screwing up your transducers and buying more. If you fart around with it at home, disconnect the cable, please. Jeez.

Dang I’m a rookie. So how does it mess up the transducer? Right now mine doesn’t mark any fish. I had it on for about an hour.

What kind of track did u put in it. I noticed its a rubber track and not the cleated one
It is actually a rubber track off of a Liquidfire sled. We had to modify the suspension are and put drive sockets on it.
@@WingateOutdoors I see. so did you widen the rails on the original suspension and lower/size up the wheels or just use the liquifire rails then. I got a Sportfire with a cleated track in really bad shape so I'm wondering what people are doing lol
@@Ethan-ck6iz The arm was the same but we had to weld some little clips on to add a set of wheels. I recommend getting in contact with a guy named Brock Webber in Circleville, OH. He has a bunch of parts and a lot of knowledge! It's hard to explain, but he helped us out a lot. Best of luck on your project!
