Oh Tooms he was a scary character, good actor that plays him as well seen him in a couple of other things. What was the deal with Tooms? If I remember right he was kidnapping people harvesting there organs to go into hibernation for long periods and awoke to do it all over again, was he an alien or a mutant I cant remember🤔 Or was it always left a mystery to what he was. Another 2 sci-fi shows on TV around the same as X-Files was Space: Above & Beyond and Earth 2, both good shows but cancelled after there 1st and only season😞 They will probably be almost impossible to find on VHS. Lee Evans is a good comedian, I had lots of laughs with his stuff as well, Best comic of all time though for me is Rikki Fulton that dude can make you laugh with just a facial expression.

Suppose you pay for Netflix to watch your favorite movie then six months down the road it’s not on Netflix and then it’s on HBO. Just organized my DVD/Blu-ray collection. It's so satisfying to see all the films and shows that I own. Most of it is thrifted, too📀

Another thing I like about retro games is when we start the game, the action is right there the moment we start like with games like Contra, Gradius, Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man, Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi, Streets of Rage and even Sonic the Hedgehog. In those games, you don't have to do a tutorial, read through long paragraphs to find out what to do, solve a riddle, figure out what 10 different button do in every other game; we also didn't have to go around looking for enemies and stuff in a big and confusing opened world; download the rest of the game and do all of this stuff before we even get to any of action and the real fun!

Yep the power of Retro gaming is strong, was in the mood for Goldeneye on the N64 couple of months ago, thought it might be those rose tinted glasses you mention, but mate this game still rocks all these years later, first time I realised there's a little island on the Dam level across the water, looked this up on TH-cam found out I'm late on this subject but that led me down the Goldeneye rabbit hole of modding, some channel called Gaslu00 they are making a MOD of Goldeneye called "The Spy Who loved me" and as the name suggests based on the older movies, I'm looking forward to trying this out when its finished. but even the original game I was playing it for weeks and loving it all over again. I have also been playing something called Legends 64 on the Project64 emulator, its a MOD for WWF No Mercy, turning it into a Legends game playing all the wrestlers from the 80's and 90's, something I always wanted when No Mercy came out years many years ago. There always adding a new legend every month or so, they just added Dynamite Kid couple of days ago, so this is something I am always going to come back too. its in that Golden Era of entertainment you mentioned, 🤔wonder if that's why they called the era of Hulkamania the Golden era? those 2K games can go get stuffed, the AKI game engine is where its at for me. N64 games are not the only ones getting the MOD treatment, I found a MOD for Nigel Mansell Championship on the SNES, where you play as Ayrton Senna instead of Mansell, thought it was a Brazilian port of the game at first? but its a MOD, people of the modding community always continue to amaze me. Regarding F1, I've been talking to many friends and workmates over the years and I have brought this up in regards to F1 games, why is there not some sort of F1 legends game where you can race any driver of any season, Gran Turismo 5 and onwards is proof that it can be done, there's room memory wise for all the cars and tracks. I found a PC F1 racing game called GP4 were I can add MODS for any year, driver, track and helmets etc....again modding community beat modern gaming to punch to give me this type of game I want. Also been playing F1 2005 on PS2 Emulator, aw god, I missed this game and that era of racing or earlier. Todays F1 games just don't do for me because I have very little interest in the sport in general these days. Again golden Era of the 80's and 90's like you mention, that's where its at! Also those loading times, there's actually something nostalgic in that, and that's the sound your screen or tape deck and disc drives made when loading, remember when I tried a emulator for the first time and I was like I miss the old loading sounds, apparently many people felt the same way cause these emulators have added in these sound effects in now. Also having a disc box/tray both sides full of discs/games is more satisfying that having a long list on your screen on Steam, Playstation or Xbox. I don't mind reissues too much, My old PC was so old when I got this new one, most of my old games would not work anymore, biggest casualty was my 2 KOTOR games😥, there's a reissue of Command and Conquer looks good, but that is one game I still managed to get it working on the new PC somehow? so no rush for that at the moment but still want to try it when I have the cash to spare. One final thing I will say in regards to modern gaming, saw a TH-cam video think it was The Quartering channel and it was a video about adding commercials to today's modern video games, I don't think there's an emoji that has the face I make at the mere thought of that idea. Just No! don't do it! If any of these gaming companies do this, then god help them, I don't care how good a video game is, you add adverts in the middle of gameplay, it will ruin the gaming experience and that game! Also the DEI thing! I am not into any modern games so its nothing I have to worry about fortunately, even the next GTA game I am just not interested anymore! they took too long with GTA 6 and I am not buying a new Playstation for just that one game and the extra £ to play online, no thanks, got plenty of Retro gaming to keep me entertained not just the things above I mentioned. Think I will just setup shop and stay in this Golden Era of nostalgia of gaming, TV, movies and music. Its nicer here😊Sorry if this a long message BTW, Just got so much love for all things Retro.

The main thing for me is the nostalgia lee buddy 😃 I love the feeling I get when I play some of my fav games from the past, it takes me right back to when I played them the first time and the memories of playing them with my mates etc. The physical thing is also massive for me aswel for the same reason, il happily sit in my games corner and just pick a,case up and look at the artwork 😊

I grew up in the 90s and played so many of these popular games like Mario, Sonic and Metroid when they were still relatively new, but there are things I did not learn until I was on the internet a decade or more after the fact. I had not heard anything about the TurboGrafx at the time and did not know anybody who had one and also that in Europe, the Sega Genesis was called the Mega Drive.
