Two years later you've uploaded this and I found this video. Very beautiful and I could sense you have a genuine appreciation for this character. I love the FE3H fandom and it warms my heart to see people empathize with her and find comfort in her writing.

I think Edelthea helped me realize a lot. One thing I love doing is writing queer. It's basically what I most wanna be remembered for. But even though there's a lot of people writing great work, I realized I also just really wanna see us in tropes. The A support is a clear cut example of "person A has obvious romantic feelings towards B who is oblivious to this" to the point where it's hard to deny, especially knowing both are bisexual. I think that taught me that not only do I wanna see what we're usually capable of as queer folk, but I want it to be so normalized that you can play queer women to the tropes and it's just normalized. It's why how, from afar, I really admired what they did with The Owl House, because it was us as the typical central cartoon romance and I felt like I fit in just a little more. I'm really glad it was played how it was, even if they really tried to gal pal the hell out of the ending ahaha

The only ones that seem like they were intentionally meant to be black is Mustafa, Devdan, Basilio and Flavia. The only one that doesn't bother me that much is Basilio, but even then he kind of feels stereotypical in how he speaks, which I can give a small pass to. Devdan, even though I haven't played the game he is from, sounds like modern day minstrelsy, and as a black woman Flavia personally doesn't fit the vibe check just by her hair color alone, quite tired of the light hair colors on us. Mustafa is ok, but he is largely irrelevent to the Story of Awakening that I forgot about him quickly. I hope for the future they draw more inspirations from black culture (not just one specific one because we have tons of different cultures around the world.), don't be afraid of drawing our hair styles and giving us our natural hair colors, and definitely don't be afraid to make them DARK SKINNED, especially for black women. So far, their representation they presented has been disappointing.

Who cares? Why does everything you see have to reflect your skin color? I liked all manner of things growing up. Blade, Black Panther, Be Like Mike, Bo Knows, dressed up as Michael Jackson for Halloween, loved Bruce Lee movies, etc...I never once saw these things and thought..I can't enjoy this because my skin color isn't the same. Why do blacks insist they must be forced into everything? Imagine the amount of non self aware narcissism it takes to legitimately believe everyone and everything should be forcibly changed to include a superficial representation of yourself. Get a grip on reality and grow up.

Hypno is a tapir and tapirs are herbivores. Also it was never said that kidnappings happened more than once. It was a one time accident and thinking logically, I'm hella sure that kid got found. I'm also hella sure Hypno doesn't torture anyone. He is a victim of his own peculiarities, r34 and creepypasta fandom. Which is kinda sad since Hypno can be quite good if you train him correctly. Also, insomnia can be caused by depression. Maybe Hypno just wants a friend?

I'm glad that in future fire emblem games, we're getting more dark skinned characters, I like to think Hapi is fire emblem's first Indian character, and that's really cool, but I'm 100% with you, give us more brown characters

This game is a masterpiece. If you are gonna re play it. You should try nosferateau. Since it's an entirely other game. My favorite clan is lasombra. Wich unfortunatel aren't playable.

I loved playing some of the Fire Emblem games! As an African/Native American woman, Its nice that there’s other presentations of other races or ethical people. However, people will have to be aware that it’s more important to see a representation of yourself only if it’s done well, without the stereotype quirks that comes with it. When I was a kid (I’m gen X), I don’t care if I seen any representation of myself or not. Are the characters fun and engaging? That’s what mattered to me. There's no African-American character in the media are like me at all. So that’s why I still not worried about representation of myself since I never seen myself in media anyway. I also don’t like the use of color as a term to tell people what race they are. No one in my family have “black” skin. They have dark brown or reddish skin. I call people who don’t have tan dark skin “fair” skinned instead, but that’s just me.

I'm not black but as someone who is southeast asian, I feel you somewhat because as much as I love Fire Emblem, I feel like there should be more poc representation, especially of darker-skinned characters in a positive light. I mean, I get that there's characters like Hapi, Claude, and also some of the darker-skinned laguz like Tibarn and the Goldoans in general, but IS still has a long way. Might be huge copium/hopium and bias but seeing a nation in a future fe based off se asia would also be cool imo haha. I get that maybe they should get some leniency but even that is stretching it imo. I'm part of the asian diaspora, not an asian in asia so take it with a grain of salt but it's also worth mentioning that colorism was and still is a huge problem there, which I think could also contribute to how some darker-skinned characters are portrayed. Anyways, I just wanted to say that your opinions are totally valid! Spoilers for fe9/10 under the cut Also like what other commenters said about Robin, am I the only one who thinks that some of the other characters like Soren should've been darker skinned? Ik that he's technically biracial and there are some light-skinned mixed people, but like considering that Goldoans are at least brown (i hc them as south asian at least), he could've gotten more of a tan? Not too many mixed ppl turn out to be that light-skinned but then again Ashnard was/is pale and also they probably wouldn't want to spoil his heritage, so who knows?

Yeah, I agree with you on chapter 12 of Three Houses. The atmosphere is IMMACULATE. The map song playing during the preparation screen letting you know shit is getting serious still gives me chills after like 9 playthroughs of the game. BUT I would say chapter 17 of Crimson Flower possibly accomplishes even more with immersion and atmosphere. The music, the cutscenes and dialogue before, during, and after the battle, the MAP design. Three Houses has mostly fine maps but I LOVE the Tailtean Plains and I wish we could’ve used it more than once in the whole game. Going back to the same place Seiros defeated Nemesis in the opening was so awesome

I didn’t know Boey originally looked that STUPID lmaoooo
