As TMI 2 engineer, I take great exception at the term “inattentive operators”. Poor sharing of industry experience and insufficient training are the primary contributors to the TMI 2 accident. As far as not learning from SL1, my response is bullshit. There was A lot of attention given to SL 1 event in college courses. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Wartime Stories and this newer channel. Just do a bit more research. The stuck control rod and it’s reactive worth are the major contributors to SL 1

Make sure you have a lot of body guards . Telling the horror the government has done through the 40s til now. Sad thing their not done with the lies and misinformation 😢😢

It was a cool idea of a mobile deployed reactor, but bad design with the sticky control rods and the U.S. Army had the wrong mentality. There is a reason why the U.S. Navy has a nuclear program with no reactor accidents and the Army no longer has a program. That said, the accident could have been the direct or indirect result of an operator that was in a bad emotional state as described here.

Saw the SL-1 episode today. That was amazing.

Luke, this was amazing! Kudos to you and your team. The only thing that kind of threw me was, some of the cars and trucks from earlier dramatizations in the video didn't seem to match the time frame. I was like, did he say, "1953 or 1983?" Not a big deal, but just something I noticed. You guys are doing amazing work! This was so well researched, and I very much appreciate that! I greatly enjoy listening to Redacted in podcasts format. I am also a supporter of Wartime Stories on YT. That being said I am not a fan of AI graphics for Redacted. I will continue to listen as the show is great.

This really makes you think about subversive organizations like the Open Society Foundation, their ties to CIA and State Department, and "grassroots" protests that tear our country apart. You really have to wonder whose interests they serve.

This is awesome. My daughter is a high school senior and will head to Texas A&M University in the fall where she has been accepted into their visualization (animation) program. She is a rare breed- very smart and does well in computer science, calculus, and physics among other things. However, at least in my opinion, her real talent and passion lies in the art that makes the animation worth watching. A project like this is exactly why she wants work in animation.

Love the illiatrations and the stories. But the gun the soldier had in begening of ep. Didnt look right. No ak s Ar s , would of been m1 or probably a tommy gun 45 , for close contact. Shotguns.

I am a previous submariner and operated nuclear reactors on a few different subs. I have been trained on SL-1 many times, but i've never heard that back stories of the individuals involved. Thank you, this was an amazing story!!

I've heard this story before on YT, but I can't remember on what channel. But I am pretty sure they showed photos from the reactor as well, not from the aftermath what I can remember. But I can't remember I heard anything about the blame. But the rods getting stuck and the man impaled by a rod is fresh in my memory. I liked the visuals a lot, and Luke Lamana has one of the best story telling voices in my opinion.

I’m personally super excited about this new channel. I love listening to your stories while working, it helps the tism and makes me work better, kinda of like lube for the brain.

This popped up on my home screen today. As a Wartime Stories fan, we just had to have a look. Very impressed. Subscribed before we watched it. The cause of the incident would seem to be Jack being a total dickhead. A drunk, aggressive idiot who couldn't keep his dick in his pants. Pound to a penny, he yanked at that rod when it got stuck because he was in a piss. That being said, lack of maintenance and bad design played a major role. No lessons learned.
