My theory: og barry goes back in time to say himself from thawne. He goes back to the future and finds his mother is dead but he starts losing his memory of his og timeline as thawne already changed it by killing barrys mother. (I say he lost the og memories because new barry also was losing his memorys of his timeline when he created flashpoint) og barry continued using his speed and ended up become the flash that thawne created.

Here's my deciphering of the events: *(Earth-One + Flashpoint)* 1. Nora West-Allen and Season 5 Barry meet outside the house, talk, and then return to 20192. 2. "Original Timeline Flash" and "Wells Thawne" arrive in 2000 from 2024's "Crisis on infinite Earths", crashing into the Allen House. 3. The fight in the house occurs - Season 1 Flash arrives to stop Thawne, but "Original Timeline Flash" stops him, as Nora's death for unknown reasons. "Original Timeline Flash" speeds Kid Barry out of the house. 4. "Wells Thawne" prepares to kill Nora Allen, however is stopped by "Season 2 Flash", an event that creates Flashpoint. 5. "Flashpoint Thawne" arrives, undoing Flashpoint and creating a "Post-Flashpoint" timeline. "Season 2 Flash" and "Wells Thawne" are erased from existence, or at least vanish. 6. "Wells Thawne" (somehow still existing) attempts to flee 2000, however his time jump strained his powers greatly, and he loses access to the Speed Force, stranding him in the year 2000. (It is unclear HOW "Wells Thawne" and "Flashpoint Thawne" co-exist, but the most likely explanation is that "Wells Thawne" is a time remnant created by "Flashpoint Thawne" as a contingency. This is because it is established that the "Wells Thawne" is a remnant of Earth-One in "The Exorcism of Nash Wells", thus he cannot be the Thawne in Season 9, as the Thawne in Season 9 clearly did not run into the past WITH FLASH as "Wells Thawne" did. And if "Wells Thawne" is a remnant of Earth-One, then 'Flashpoint Thawne" would be one as well. Thus, "Earth-Prime Thawne" is a *new* iteration of Eobard Thawne, seperate from the previous two.).

The only issue I have with this is that it was supposed to be original Barry (the one that became The Flash in 2020) that saved his younger self, not the Barry we’ve been following. Even if they wanted to change it a bit, he still should’ve been here.

So he finally come to term with it after realizing it's a fixed point that can only be change if Thawne himself chose to not do it. Even if he stop Thawne that time, Thawne will always come back again and again until he kill her and lost his speed. The only way this would stop is if Thawne himself choose to not do it. Thawne realizing it's a fixed point realized why Barry didn't stop him and it was his own choice that doomed him to be trapped in the loop

A good theory that I believe reverse furhur made is that there was never an original timeline and that thawne was tricked by Gideon into thinking the flash was made in 2020 so then whenever he went back in time to make Barry he thinks that he made him earlier but 2014-2025 isn’t too far off from 2020 so she could have definitely did that on purpose . We see when reverse flash comes back in time in season 2 they have a wells so that’s why he portrayed wells like that closer to harry than any other wells he prolly figured that it was him considering wells came up with the idea that he and Barry should run together for him to get back home. Another point barrys mom dying anytime a speedster messes with the timeline unless it’s a change that wasn’t meant to happen ie; a fixed point then a time wraith would come after you but a time wraith never came after thawne. I think thawne was meant to be tricked by Gideon into making the flash

Well, that explains why Wells was so cold to Barry. Imagine flat out telling someone "I'm responsible for the worst day in your life" then they thank you before vanishing and leaving you stranded in the past where you eventually help him get faster

Barry really is the best hero. Thawne killed his mother and tormented him for decades yet he still gave him one last chance to save himself before losing his speed and being trapped in the past.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when S9 reverse flash runs out and loses his speed. S3 reverse flash is still in the house after killing Barry’s mom again because S3 RF leaves and goes back to the future. So if RF really wanted to he could’ve saved S9 reverse flash and sent him back to his future which would have kept Harrison wells alive, and ultimately Barry wouldn’t get his powers until 2020 which would make him the Original Timeline Flash. It’s also crazy to me that S1 Flash went back to save his mom and S2 version actually did but then got erased and S1 Flash doesn’t even know that lmao.
