David Lynch's DUNE Alternate Ending
มุมมอง 13K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
A fully-storyboarded ending for David Lynch's 1984 film DUNE which never made the final cut, although some elements were used in the rest of the final film. This is a fan edit created by Max Evry, author of "A Masterpiece in Disarray: David Lynch's Dune - An Oral History." The boards were likely done by Mentor Huebner, with some color paintings by Anthony Masters. This "Transcendental Ending" i...

Alone In The Dark (1982) - Brilliant Last Scene
มุมมอง 9K9 ปีที่แล้ว
Crazy-ass Jack Palance in the brilliant final scene from a truly underrated horror flick that's actually a wry satire of the way we look at the mentally ill. Believe that's Janet Schneider, a Tony-nominated actress who became a photojournalist in war zones.

Wow
Wow
i want the longest version available, i dont care the quality. also alicia witt was so creepy in this movie lol
Love it! Disturbing and amazing at the same time
I'm glad it was cut. Who wants to hear a child scream
LMAO
Great stuff all around, but I can totally see why it was cut. It doesn't really do a lot to move the story forward.
good work
Imagine this song in the Denis Villeneuve Dunes, would be INSANE! There's something so magical, mystical, deep, ethereal, spiritual that you only get from David Lynch's Dune (and most of his work in general).
Is this in the SpiceDiver Redux v3 fan edit? If not, Spicediver needs to be informed about this footage ASAP!
Dune 1984 blows 2021 out of the water. There is ZERO charisma present in 21, so vapid, so obviously deficient in quality and quantity of legit actors and actresses, to say nothing of the soundtrack of Toto. Stellen Skarsgaard save the movie with his presence alone.
It's not even close to being in the same league as the new one. I don't care about this Paul. Villeneuve's Paul truly shines as the Mahdi with that monologue in the Southern Sietch. There is nothing of that emotional power in this film.
@@transfo47 its all about taste and preference with art but wow, look at the lineups and compare the first with the last 2 and it's no comparison. Not. Even. Close. And the soundtrack? Toto's amazing score versus.....an AI one?
I'm really sorry for Molly Wryn, to be cast in one of your favorite book's movie adaptation and then to have the scenes deleted. It's just not right.
I still like the Lynch Dune much better than the new Films. In every scene, one can sense that there is a vision and a soul in it, that someone has truly tapped the sources of creativity and creation to make it. I don't understand why so many seem to view it in a less favorable light - for me, the genius of Lynch shines through this no matter how disfortunate the editing might have ended up. In its best moments, it is suspended in an otherwordly glow of interior monologues hovering in a realm of complete spiritual freedom...

Extra note: These are three different storyboard sequences edited together and mistaken for an alternate ending. 1. Paul taking the Water of Life, 2. Jessica Taking the Water of Life. 3. The ending with the Lotus.
This is amazing! It's so unfair they cut Molly Wryn's scenes. She is great as Harah. And this scene is really good!
this scene describes my whole life...
Amazing to see this after such a long time, I presume the sound effects would have been added over Alia's voice, this was raw audio. Max Evry's book indicates Lynch's preferred edit would have been about 3 hours. Come on David, we are all waiting. I wonder if there is any existing footage of Rabban in the bathtub. Its not clear if they got a usable shot due to Paul Smith's nervousness about getting electrocuted after smashing an oil filled light bulb above him. It's detailed on the late Kit West's website.
I wish Alicia Witt had more screen time in Dune.
And I thought the Jodorowsky version would have been trippy...
Friggin' celebrity Ego ... That intro was blasted with narcissism.
Harah always being done dirty.
This Harah is way too hot
Have you seen the John Holmes ending? Its where John Holmes floppy cock becomes the first Guild navigator and folds space.
“Its worm time.”
I keep seeing more and more deleted scenes from this movie on TH-cam. I hope they bring it all together one day.
Please someone tell me what Alia said? I keep replaying it but can't understand, obey the something?
The final sentence I think is 'would they deny me the right to use the voice'.
Yep, first sentence is 'would they deny me the right to use what's mine'.
@@2Malachiah yeah thanks! Although listening again I think first sentence might be "the right to use this mind" vs "what's mine'
The cut scenes must flow.
The spice is under too much pressure and can't flow.
Wish the audio was cleaner
I wish the original Dune was redone with this scene WITH Molly and all of Molly's deleted scene work along with everything else.
The full movie should be released.
Beautiful U have a new sub
I see why it was cut. 😂
I loved the 84 version up until recently it was the best version. However now the Villenue Dune and its genius has really hit home with me and is so much better.

I came here to say I absolutely love both versions of Dune by their own merit, Lynch's and Villeneuve. Preferring one over the other is a false dichotomy.
1:40 POV: you are the Fremen nose plug
What does the child say? Needs subtitles.
En que chica hermosa se convirtio esta niña alicia wits tendria que a ver estado devuelta en las nuevas peliculas de dune de denis villenuev de vuelta como alia es relinda de adulta es hermosa
To all fans of Alicia Witt(Alia), she appears in season five of Justified. She is Wendy Crowe, the redheaded paralegal who is Daryl Crowe's sister, part of the Dewey Crow clan. She did great. Loved seeing the little Dune character all grown up. For those who don't know, Harah was the wife of Jamis, the Fremen Paul killed as part of being accepted by the Fremen. She became Paul's responsibility when Paul killed Jamis. I found it hard to understand what Alia was saying. I think she said the following: "Would they deny me that which is mine? Would they deny me the use of spice?"
Agghh! Little noisy brat.
I just watched a revised version on DUNE 1984. Maybe these guys will add in this deleted scene in a future revision... th-cam.com/video/faHQA_0d9Mo/w-d-xo.html
She was prettier than Sean Young IMHO.
I hope, at least, AI will provide its tremendous potential to indie and fan efforts, such as this.
why is that child so funnyyyyy
I think David has washed his hands of this but man how many of us would love to see the full movie the way he had shot it
Unfortunately, it's difficult to tell what the actors are saying. Closed captioning would help.
I was wondering what to watch tonight. Spicediver Dune it is! I hope more scenes can come to light and be included in further re-edits.
The rolling golden light is used on the title cards of the documentaries from DVD special features.... So that element was filmed. Jessicas face emeging from the water was for when she took the water of life and swapped with reverand mother Ramalo. Check comic book adaptation visuals too for reference..
Thank you Max Every! When DUNE was originally released in 1984, I saw it twice opening weekend. I was sixteen years old. I've always felt like I saw a different film than anyone else. No one liked it, or had no interest in seeing it. After The Elephant Man, I knew David Lynch was a genius. Dune proved it. And after all these years, you and SPICEDRIVER have gone above and beyond to show the world the truth of Lynch's vision. Please continue the crusade!
She misspoke. She should do this narration again.
Whoa!!
