Hi, Steve here. Thank you for joining me on the Panoramic Travels TH-cam Channel.
The purpose of this channel is two fold: 1) to document our travels in general (whether by Panoramic RV, plane, train or boat); and 2) to post informational videos about our experiences with our Panoramic RV, which we picked up in September 2022.
If you are interested in travel in general or the Panoramic RV specifically, please feel free to subscribe to the channel and click on the Notify button so you don't miss any videos!

In this video Steve replaces the halogen high and low beam bulbs with LED bulbs
Hi, Steve here. Today I’ll show you how I replaced the factory-installed halogen bulbs with LED bulbs on my Panoramic RV, which is a 2022 Model Year US Chassis Ram ProMaster 3500.
DISCLAIMER
But, first I have to make an important disclaimer. I’m not suggesting that you replace your original bulbs with LED or even HID bulbs for that matter. If you are considering this, check with your federal, state or provincial laws regarding LED or HID replacement bulbs. It might not be legal in your jurisdiction. So do your research and make your decision. You can also use this video to replace the original halogen bulbs with better halogen bulbs.
So, why am I upgrading to LED bulbs? After over 15,000 miles using the original halogen bulbs I’m looking for a dramatic increase in road illumination and therefore improved safety when driving at night. Also, LED lights have a longer life span. Halogen bulbs last up to 3,000 hours, while LED bulbs can easily last for 30,000 hours. Finally, they’re more energy efficient.
So let’s get started.
So, I went to the Amazon website. You can type the year, make and model into the search bar and it will filter the results for that vehicle. So I typed 2022 Ram ProMaster 3500 cargo van, clicked on “Filter Results” then I typed “H7 bulb” into the search bar. The H7 style bulb works for both the high and low beams, so I bought two 2-packs of the Autoyes brand. There were so many brands to choose from, I honestly can’t say exactly why I chose this brand.
Step 1 Remove the Upper Panel
I’m using pliers to loosen two screws because the Phillips slots were stripped. Once the two screws were loosened I removed them by hand. Rotate the panel up and pull it away from the adjacent panel.
Step 2 Remove the Lower Panel
Remove one Phillips Phillips head screw. I used a trim removal tool to pull the panel away from the vehicle.
Step 3 Remove the Headlight Assembly
Three 10 mm bolts need to be removed. Now the headlight assembly can be removed.
Step 4 Remove the Electrical Connector
Push the locking tab in and pull on the connector.
Step 5 Remove the Low Beam Dust Cover
Step 6 Remove the Low Beam Bulb
Push the bulb tab down and pull the bulb assembly out. Pull the halogen bulb out of its socket.
Step 7 Install the new Low Beam Bulb
Push the two prongs of the new bulb into the socket. Reinstall the bulb assembly into the housing, pushing the tab down and then locking it in position.
Repeat steps 5, 6 and 7 for the High Beam Bulb
Remove the High beam dust cover. Pull the bulb assembly out. Pull the halogen bulb out of its socket. Push the two prongs of the new bulb into the socket. Reinstall the bulb assembly into the housing.
Step 8 Reinstall the two Dust Covers
Step 9 Reinstall the Electrical Connector
Note: turn on the headlights to make sure they work before reinstalling the headlight assembly
Step 10 Reinstall the Headlight Assembly
This pin on the headlight assembly goes into this slot on a vehicle bracket. Install the three 10 mm bolts.
Step 11 Reinstall the Lower Panel
Put the panel in place and insert one Phillips screw
Step 12 Reinstall the Upper Panel
Put the panel in place and insert two screws.
Step 13
Adjust the Headlight Assembly (beam height) if necessary
You can see how much brighter the new bulbs are! You can see that the new bulb is shining higher than the original bulb, so I want to adjust that headlight assembly lower. You need a very long screwdriver shaft with a T15 Torx bit. The headlight assemblies are now aligned.
Taking a Test Drive to compare the Halogen bulb to the new bulb
I wish I could provide a more objective comparison by measuring the light output, but we noticed a dramatic improvement and hopefully you can see it, too.
Now, just repeat Steps 1 - 13 for the driver side headlight assembly and you’re all set!

Any problem with the less power on the LED?I understand thats an issue with the cab lights.
No problem. The LED bulbs I installed work great for us!
Excellent video Steve, as usual. Merci
Thank you, Marc!
Great video. I really appreciate how you film it because it will make it easier for everyone who wants to make this upgrade. We will definitely do this to our panoramic. Lighting is so important especially with so many deer on the roads at night.
Thank you! Yes, the new bulbs really made a big difference! Again, check the laws in your area and make your decision regarding halogen, HID or LED.
Nice work !!!
Thank you!
Thanks you guys are sweet happy travels🤗👍🤺🏋️♀️☦️
Thank you for the demo Janet 👍
Thanks for watching!
Thank you much. That is very helpful.
@@keckojones3324 Thanks! I'm getting caught up on my RV videos. I installed LED headlamps a year ago and am finally getting to work on that one! I also installed new speakers (also quite a while ago) and might make a video about that.
@@panoramictravelsthat would be great. We have thought about both those modifications so that would be helpful for us.
@@keckojones3324 Stay tuned!
Happy New Year Steve and Janet! Looking forward to your coming videos!
Thanks, Mitch! Happy New Year to you and Karen! Will you be at the Napa Pano Gathering in June? We're not sure if we will or not. If we do, we might "cheat" by flying to our son's house in Washington and driving their Panoramic RV down to Napa!
Karen retires on May 31, so I think the timing might be a bit tight for Napa for us.
@@mitchcherniack2804 Congratulations on Karen's upcoming retirement!
Steve, congratulations on 1,000+ subscribers. Although my retirement is five years away, I want to do what your doing: Travel the U.S. in my RV (campervan or B+), while making videos for my TBA TH-cam channel. Currently I'm in training (camera, photos, video, iMovie, etc.) I can tell that you put in a great deal of effort. It shows and is appreciated. And now you got a few bucks to validate it!
Well, you're way ahead of me. I was already a few years into my retirement when I decided to start this channel! I'm still not comfortable in front of the camera, but I'm forcing myself and hope to get better over time. I don't know if you have an Apple computer, but if you do you might want to check out Final Cut Pro (FCP). That's what I use to edit videos. I paid $299 for it once over a decade ago. All updates since then have been free. Ripple Training overs reasonably priced video tutorials for how to use FCP. Most of my content comes from my iPhone and a DJI Mini 2 drone. I recently bought the DJI Mic 2 wireless mics. Good audio is very important!
Great work Steeve! Thanks for all the information you share with us.
Thank you, Martin!
Happy 2025 and look forward to following your travels. Thanks for sharing.
Thank YOU! I'm looking forward to my travels in 2025 and documenting them on this channel!
Boy, that sure looks like a lot of fun
It WAS a lot of fun! I think I remember seeing you on the boat!
What’s the music on your video? Love those horns!
It's called "Canal 3" by Quincas Moreira. It's available in the TH-cam Audio Library. Musicians upload their music to the library and allow TH-cam content creators to use it without copyright infringement. I've pretty much adopted Cana 3 as my channel's "theme song"!
lol tell me you’re an engineer without telling me you’re an engineer!😂 great job and explanation
Guilty as charged - 37 year career as a test lab engineer and manager in the auto industry!
My sister and I doing this cruise April 2025. This video is amazing thank you.
I hope this gave you a good overview of what you'll see in a few months. Enjoy your cruise and the opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of others.
Nice review Steve! The panoramic is on my short list. Hoping to see one in person at the Tampa RV show in January. I'm curious to hear your opinion of how the 400 amp hours is holding up. On the hot days and nights when you are running your AC is the 400 hours enough?
Thanks, Fred! Did you watch my "Panoramic RV Walk Through and One Year Review" video? If not, check it out! We haven't had to run the AC a lot. It can definitely ruin off of our 440 Amp-hours of lithium batteries, but - I'm just guessing here - probably for only around six or eight hours at medium. Then you would have to plug in, run the engine or get some photons from the sun!
Another chiming in to say no audio on my Apple TV, but when I went into settings on the video and unchecked 5.1 surround it started working ok. So there is a tip for anyone else having issues. First video I’ve ever seen that on.
Thank you for sharing that information. I'm not sure why that is happening on this video. It has over 15k views and only two comments about an audio problem, so I hope most viewers are having no audio problem.
I am doing this exact cruise Feb 2025 so I enjoyed your well-done video to whet my appetite for what I can expect to see. Thanks!
Thank you, Debbie! Make sure you go to Volunteer Point on the Falkland Islands! It was definitely one of the high points of this cruise!
Great video!! So informative, love the blooper reel💙
Thanks, Leslie! I enjoyed your "german shepard singing" video!
Thank you very much for your wonderful video. We are planning a similar trip and it is wonderful to get first Impressions. As an avid amateur photographer I am considering what equipment to bring. I noticed in one of the comments that you used only your iPhone. That is great news because the memories you captured are great. Given a choice , would you have preferred a camera with a greater telephoto capability to capture for when cruising past the landscapes ? Kind regards from Stuttgart, Germany.
Thank you for your kind comments! Please make sure you're subscribed - we just got home from two more Viking river cruises. It's true, the video is just about exclusively from my iPhone (presently an iPhone 15 Pro) and my DJI Mini 2 drone. I also get some video from the iPhones of the people we travel with. I also get some photos from my wife - she's the photographer. She has a Nikon Z6 II and two lenses, one being a 100 - 400mm lens.
Thank you for your fast response - I am so glad you confirmed my decision to buy exactly that lens. What is your wifes second lens ?
@@photographicamateur Her main lens is a Nikkor 24 to 120 mm/4S. The telephoto lens is a Tamron 100 to 400 mm/4.5 to 6.3.
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you so much for this wonderful series of videos. My wife and I are considering this cruise and found your videos to be incredibly well edited and very informative!
Thank you for saying so! I hope you go on the cruise and this series of videos gave you a good preview of what you can expect.
Did an awesome tour! Very precise!
Thank you!
In three weeks I’ll be in Istanbul then on this cruise in the reverse (less the Prague extension). Thank you for the excellent preview!
Hi, Christine, I'm glad I could give you a preview of what to expect. Enjoy your Viking cruise!
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Until now, I've never seen such a detailed tour of a Panoramic RV, even better than the company's own videos. Really interesting. Thanks again !!!

South America the Wonder of the Americas! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It really is a special place!
Great walk through! One suggestion: please lose the music. Videographers think they need it to, “move the video presentation along.” You don’t. A short video it’s fine. But a long version like this, it becomes irritating and tiring. Thanks again. Subscribed. I’ve been watching Panoramic for years now. Hope to order one.
Thank you for subscribing, Greg! Before you contact Panoramic get back with me. I can send you a Panoramic Ambassador Card that will save you $500. I appreciate your comment about the music. Maybe it's just me, but a video with sections without sound seems like "dead air". Maybe I'll use music less frequently and/or bury it a little more in the mix.
No sound at all, but may not need it after all
This video has over 13 thousand views. You are only the second person to say there is no sound. The sound is working fine. I think the problem is on your end.
Great video!! Did you experience any motion sickness?
Thanks! No, no motion sickness. That's something people might experience on an ocean cruise, but not a river cruise. The rivers are pretty calm. Sometimes we didn't even realize we left port until we looked out a window and saw that we were underway! Check out my three part series Viking South American Ocean Cruise. You will see some big waves there!
Just watched your video, Steve. Very nice job. The mapping was interesting to show the route to the next destination. Loved the titles & descriptions on buildings & places. Everything was done very well, inspiring us to take this cruise.
Wow, thanks! You will love the Viking Grand European cruise!
If you enjoy these videos, please consider subscribing! If you're already subscribed, please get a friend or two to subscribe. TH-cam doesn't share the money they make from me until I get to 1,000 subscribers. I'm at 928 now.
Great video, very informative!
Thank you, Chris!
Do you think that the Americans will influence Panoramic RV to become like them, that is to say less quality and more gadgets?
@@Prange57 the united states is a big market and the people are different from europeans. i went to see one in chambly quebec this week. i have to say that it is even better in real life than on video, very good quality product, congratulations on your purchase
@@renedugas2396 Hi, Rene! Regardless of who Panoramic's customers are, I don't think we ever have to worry about them compromising their quality. And, as for gadgets, Panoramic seems to focus on smart, but simple, design features. I don't think they're going to add a "gadget" unless it will add value to the overall customer experience.
Love your video. I bought my first (&last rv) new Panoramic 2024 December 4th. I bought the MAGMA pots & slowly stocking things. I copy your stuff in the drawers, cabinets etc. What is the outdoor mat thing 0:06 you put in the pizza oven? I only caught the word sand? Thank you for helping me.
Great upgrades!!!!
Thanks, Fred!
Great review! Any issues with power being front wheel? How does it do at climbing? Im torn between the panoramic and another brand on the sprinter chasis. Appreciate your thoughts!!!! Happy travels!!!
The engine does strain a bit when going up mountain roads, but it still handles them fine. Panoramic is working on a Ford Transit RV, not sure when it will be available. They will also be offering a Sprinter RV, but that one is probably a few years off. I think you would do fine with the Ram Pano unless you plan on doing a lot of off roading or driving on forest roads.
Hi! We have put a deposit down for a Panoramic and plan to take possession in early April. We currently have a PW OnTour 2.2 and have enjoyed 3+ years of adventures. It is an n Seattle and posted in m RV trader. I am amazed by the battery capacity you have noted. Our PW uses 20% of the battery overnight. We have 200 ah of Lithium. We plan to bump up to 600 ah for our new Panoramic. Thanks for the info!
Hi, David! As you know, this is our first RV. When we were in the market we started looking at Pleasureways and Leisure Travel Vans. We thought a 21' van would be too small. Then, we rented a Travato (also based on the Ram ProMaster 3500) and loved how easy it was to drive and park. It was big enough, so even though we didn't like the floor plan we almost bought it. Then, we heard Neil on the Ultramobility TH-cam channel mention the Panoramic, which we had never heard of before. A few emails and phone calls with Philippe and we had our deposit down three weeks later! Congratulations on your Panoramic purchase. I think you're going to love it! Rumors are that the fourth annual Panoramic RV Gathering will be in northern California in June 2025. Maybe we'll see you there!
Bonjour Janet et Steve. Thank you for your interview
Thank you ... and thank Philippe for giving us his time!
Thanks, Steve!
thanks for nice video !!!!!! very professional !!!!! take care
Thank you! It was nice of Philippe to give us his time. It was a very busy weekend!
Excellent interview!
Thank you, Bernie! Janet is such a better interviewer than me. I really appreciate her stepping in!
Wow! Great video (as all your videos are). So great to see so many great memories. So glad we got to visit with you and you got to visit with us and share our coffee with you. Hope we run into you soon in the near future. Happy travels.
Thank you! I remember someone giving Janet coffee (thank you). Can you refresh my memory with your and your spouse's names? Apparently, I met too many people at the Gathering! If I remember correctly, you were on the team that we played against during the tournament.
Thanks, Steve! It was great to relive that fun weekend!
Thanks, Mitch, it was a great weekend and I'm glad I could document it. I hope to see you and Karen at next year's gathering. The rumor is Napa Valley, so that would be a long drive for the two of you.
@@panoramictravels We hope to make it to Napa but it will depend on timing. Karen retires at the end end of May, so if it’s early in June, it may be tough to make
Thanks for sharing all the good that the Panoramic RV can bring to people's lives. Never stop learning and meeting good people along the way that for me is a wonderful thing.
I thought we were "just" buying the best Class B RV. It turns out that we got that - and the opportunity to meet a lot of great people!
what mechanical or electrical problems have you experienced with your vehicle since its purchase?
Thanks for asking, Rene! We had some problems during the first two months of ownership - Ram problems - not Panoramic problems. They're documented in this video: th-cam.com/video/QUZRC0KFIfk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OhIcIzySiG76lmyo We had a similar problem a few days after I posted that video. The Ram service facility replace the O2 sensors and a 5A fuse. We haven't had any Ram issues since then. We did have a Panoramic electrical issue last year that turned out to be a bad WeBoost (cellular signal booster). It was replaced under warranty. We haven't had any other major problems in our first (almost) two years of ownership.
Just found your channel.Even if we don’t own a Panoramic ,but another brand , I really do enjoy your video ,they are well made and very informative. You deserve more subscribers ! Wishing you the best!
Thank you, Renee! I hope my RV videos provide valuable information for more than just Panoramic RV owners. Two years in, I'm happy with over 900 subscribers. I should hit my goal of 1,000 subscribers by the end of this year. Then, I guess I'll have to set a new goal!
Great video, Steve. Loved the genealogy search description and the tank level report is very helpful to us.
Thank you, Mitch, I appreciate the feedback! Now, to get to work on the 2024 Panoramic RV Gathering video!
Thanks for your response. I'm in a cold climate(Calgary)and wonder how the batteries Panoramic uses would stand up in very cold temperatures. Should the chance present itself, I would love to see an in depth video on the electrical system along the lines of the very good winterization episode.
If you are considering purchasing a Panoramic RV and would like to save $500 on the price, contact me at my email address. If you dig around on my TH-cam channel a little you can find my email address.
Having acquired in the US how did the purchase go considering these are manufactured in Quebec and there is a limited US dealer network to purchase from and service. What issues have you had to date and how were they resolved. Are you still satisfied with overall quality. Will be traveling with a pet. Does AC operate off battery (How long) or does it only run when connected to shore power. Can you set AC to automatically go on/off at set temp. Have been considering Pleasureway Ontour 2.2 on Ford chassis all wheel drive. How has the Ram Promaster performed and held up so far.
The purchase went very smoothly. We put down a deposit when we placed our order. We financed the rest when we picked up Harvey the RV in Plattsburgh, NY. The paperwork took five minutes. Then, Panoramic had a representative walk us through all of the systems (and took us to lunch!). Service - with their five year warranty - has never been an issue. The Panoramic tech support team always reply quickly to emails and phone calls. Often times the issue can be resolved over the phone or with an email. Other issues include having work down locally, Pano tech working with the local service facility to resolve the issue and Panoramic paying the local facility. In rare cases, Panoramic will send a technician to your RV's location! The main issues we have had were Ram ProMaster related, not Pano related. I made a few videos of that. Yes, we are very happy with the quality! Yes, the new Truma AC unit can run off of the batteries - if you get the larger capacity option - and it can be programmed with the TrumaCombi Controller. When our RV was built 440 Amp-hours was the maximum offered and that's what we got. Now, I think they offer up to 600 Amp-hours. There are a lot of variables as to how long the AC will run off of batteries. All I can say is it is probably in hours, not days. Of, course you can drive the RV to charge the batteries. There are devices, like the Waggle, that can alert you when the temperature is above or below a preset range. Other than the Ram problems we had in the first few months of ownership, it has been great. It's front wheel drive only, unlike the Ford Transit, for example. Panoramic is working on designs, by the way, for the Ford Transit and the Mercedes Sprinter.
@@panoramictravels Steve, thank you for your input. Can you elaborate on the ProMaster issues you have had and how many miles you now have on the van.
@@RuthAnneBrossman We have 22,000 miles after 1.5 years and seven major road trips. To elaborate on the Ram issue - which is now a distant memory - here is the transcript from my Pano RV Episode 6: As I mentioned in Episode 5, I started up the RV and the Service Transmission Warning came on along with other warnings. I could put it in gear, but it was very clunky. I could drive it, but with the pedal to the floor, it would only go about 20 miles an hour. So, I called Chrysler Roadside Assistance and they sent out a tow truck to take it to a local Ram dealership, namely Szott M59 Ram dealership. Cate, the Service Manager had told me when I dropped it off that it might take a week or two before they even looked at it. Well, four days later they hooked up their OBD2 (On Board Diagnostic Version 2) equipment, made note of the stored warning codes and then cleared them. A few days later they drove the RV, started and stopped it (what Cate called “key cycles”) and they could not reproduce any of the warnings. They did notice that a software update was available for the Powertrain Control Module so they updated it. I’m going to chalk this up to a “computer glitch” and am hoping it doesn’t come back anytime soon!
Now that's how you do a review! One question re the coach batteries please. What brand of battery did they give you and are they self heating lithium style?
I don't know the battery brand. They are lithium, but I don't think they're self-heating. They remounted inside the RV in the garage area to the left of the left-side drawers.
Beautiful trip and great video, thanks for sharing! Your visit to Iguazú falls was it a tour offered by Viking or through a 3rd party?
The Iguazu Falls excursion was offered by Viking.
