Fixing my porch patio stairs, replacing stair stringers
มุมมอง 74หลายเดือนก่อน
I have been wanting to replace these for a few years now, it had been a daunting task. I don't know why. I just decided to buy the materials and get started and 3 days later I was finished. My recommendation to anyone is just get started, you will figure it out as you go.

    That was painful to watch. Its a tiny trailer, throw it in the back of a truck, drive to an outlet, and put some heat into it. Good on you for keeping up with it. People would be surprised how long those cheap little garden trailers will last with a little maintenance.

      Definitely would be possible but it’s heavier than it looks to load by myself. Thank you for watching

    Your arc breaking up is either a bad ground or that little HF welder just isn't liking that rusty pitted metal. Get a wire wheel attachment for that angle grinder you have, it'll take a lot more that off than a drill. That said, for a little bit of farm weldin she'll do the trick. Keep on truckin!

    I had a 22hp Mahindra and to keep my 3-pt arms in, the lower lift pins for bush hog were reversed to the inside rather than the outside. It may help clear your backhoe mount a little better. It also gave me a bit more ability to keep the swing links/turnbuckles a little looser to allow the bush hog to swing a bit more freely if it needed to (and was easier to hook up with them looser).

      Less wear and tear on the tractor. The front steering cylinders and rubber tie rod boots are low and unprotected. I also built a shield for my hydraulic filter and trans cooling fan under the tractor for anything that can kick up under the middle of the tractor

    A little more juice wouldve get the job done but i am not complaining i cant see it from where i sleep. Good job you did what you needed to do to stop it from getting worse try thightening the loose bolts even the nut on the main shaft maybe adding another flat washer if posible then you get the wobble when it hits anything and you will even get a clean cut too

    Drill a hole in the back of deck to let the water out

    • @NeudorferFarm
      @NeudorferFarm 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I thought about doing that but then the water will get on the underside of the deck where the paint gets worn off and increase the corrosion rate. I will take your advice and try to drill a horizontal hole through the flat plate that frames that section; as close to the deck as possible. Just not sure I can get the drill close enough due to the chuck. I’ll make a short if I can make this work. Thank you

      @NeudorferFarm buy a longer drill bit it will allow you to get closer to the deck at a slight angle, or a snake drill might help you get tighter to the deck. get

    • @NeudorferFarm
      @NeudorferFarm 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the advice, I agree with you. The only problem is when the speed of the video is increased, the tractor sound gets distorted. At normal speed, this video would have been over an hour of footage, so I sped it up and added music since the normal audio is no good at high speed. Any idea how to solve other than posting long videos?

      @@NeudorferFarm Get a couple of cameras, preferably the same brand/model. Set the 1st camera up on a tripod to grab the whole scene; use the second to get different angles, get closer or onboard the tractor/mower shots. While editing, use the 1st camera and its sound track. Lay the 2nd cam footage over the top and mute its sound. Then alternate between the two, taking the most interesting "shots" from both. If you have help, you could mix in a drone shot from time to time but its not necessary. Play it all at regular speed and it will sound right. Cut out boring parts if it gets too long. The shots taken on the tractor will sound the same because it will still be the sound from the 1st camera. It doesn't have to be the same model of camera but the video will stay sync'd better if it is. Different "cheap" cameras will likely become unsync'd as the video moves along and you'll have to resync them.

    This is like polishing a turd? “Redneck” garages need to have a curved roof with just enough height to store whatever you’re going to place inside it. Extra headroom and corners are a recipe for failure. Don’t waste your money on this type of temporary shelter. Especially in a snowy climate.

    You may also want to ensure you have enough freeboard above the spillway to account for wind & wave action or a heavy rainstorm event. The water color is beautiful.

  • @ryanbarr4910
    @ryanbarr4910 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I’d take the walnut out, if it was me. I’d also bring that swale farther up hill or make a terrace up hill. Either way I’d make it much larger, I’d put it on contour, and give it a large, level spillway away from the dam. If your spring seepage is slow, a contour swale up hill would charge the ground water flow. I’d make the emergency spillway substantial in size just in case. Did the primary overflow pipe have an anti-seep collar around it?

  • @imagineengine
    @imagineengine 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm afraid your building method of raising the walls off the ground may not be the best idea. That looks like it is going to cause problems when you get high winds because when they can get underneath the walls that could cause a severe amount of lifting which could prove disastrous to your canopy. Sorry to say this but it just looks like a bad idea. You want to block out the wind especially under the walls.

    Good and simple reinforcement job. That will definitely beef stability up. If you don’t mind, I have 1 idea/suggestion: If you’re looking for a little added insurance of the wood not wearing through the tarp fabric over time, I’d put either glue-on or peel-and-stick foam sill gasket on the tarp side of the wood. (I think it’s usually pink and about 3 1/2 “ in width) It’s dirt cheap, comes in good sized rolls, it’s thin (3/16”) so no added bulk and easy to work with (cut to size, shape). It also has the bonus of being waterproof and can protect the wood from condensation where the wood contacts the tarp fabric. Just an idea.
