Our bins here in the Denver area have huge amounts of clothes, too. Unfortunately, they mostly put the books in large, deep cardboard boxes, so you have to dig down. Ugh! Our cost for general wares and clothes went up to $1.89 a pound recently. CDs and books are 69 cents each. That Reflections on Watermelon Pickle book was very well known back in the late 60’s. (I’m dating myself!)

When I sell books at a flea market, In addition to placing on the table, I stack some of them because it makes them easier to read.

Hi Clay, you should make copies of that scarf book. So many 9:57 women like scarves but don't know the the art of scarf tying. Great book, I myself love scarves, great finds. That way when you have copies you could put them on display, always have that info next to your scarves. Thank Dolores ❤

We call orphan pictures "instant relatives" in my booth at antique store 😂 you can make up stories about them...oh that's Aunt Effie. She had no teeth so she couldnt smile 😂

Some are so beautiful, I have even framed them as art❣️😉 Gosh, I am showing my age, because I bought them when I was in my 20's❣️🤣😝🤪* *My favorite item, of course, has to be the FREE 1800's picture. It is FABULOUS❣️‼️😁 My Mom and I both enjoy collecting old portraits, paintings and ephemera of people in antique photographs and displaying them in our homes. We refer to them as our "adopted ancestors." 😉 What a lovely portrait in a beautiful frame with luscious details - even though it has some damage. 🙊🙉🤎 That is something I would definitely treasure, so I see why you were so excited about it‼️👌*

Hi Clay, Thanks for the plug about the Senior Center Comm. Thrift Shop in Imperial Nebraska. We are small but get some very interesting items to resell. I found an 8'' Griswold skillet that was from the parents of kids I grow up with. Small world. . Just had coffee with your Mom this morning. We Always have a fun time. Wish I could visit your store " the Pink Elephant" . Maybe some day.

To remove smoke smell from a book wrap the book in a hand towel, put in a ziplock bag pour in a box of baking soda an let sit for 3 or 4 days,works for me

Hi Clay. 1st time viewer here. You scored some awesome stuff. The Amberina compotes were wonderful. Curious about the ruby red dish, is it flash? I love watching thrifting videos bc I usually learn a lot. Going to be on the lookout for embroidery hoops now. I didn’t realize they were actually something that people collect. I live in a very small rural area with only one small goodwill, so thrifting can be difficult sometimes. I think my biggest score was a Fenton vase that was in the free box! Thanks for all the good information!
