Hi TH-cam viewers I'm Kirk Hermary and welcome to my channel! I enjoy the great outdoors, hiking, camping, adventures, exploring! Expect trees, rocks, and interesting gear as I take you on tours. From hot summer days to bitter cold arctic winds turning me into a humansicle. Most of my content is recorded in Red Deer and around Central Alberta, Canada. I do gear reviews, testing, random exploring, and more! Some gear even gets decimated when it can't stand up to the torture tests! Ka-Bar is my favorite knife manufacturer and you will see plenty of their awesome tools here. I also like to use CRKT, SOG, Estwing(They make a tomahawk axe!), and random Chinesium gear. I started making videos in April 2018 and this has been an awesome hobby. Thank you to everyone old and new who views my content. A special thanks to those who also subscribe, it is much appreciated. Did you know I have a custom URL? It makes sharing my channel super easy th-cam.com/users/KirkHermary (clickable link below)

These graphics are great! Even the breathing is such great detail.

Defiantely has an RPG video game vibe with this music.
It fits so well! A musician, possibly my sister, made it. The title of the song is Stronger Together, it's very powerful. Thanks for stopping by.
I shall dub you the Snow Shoe Uber lol. Good to see ya out and about.
Hahaha too funny man! Thanks so much for stopping by! I got infected back in September 2023, Beervirus19... well all this time later and my lungs, heart, airway, and the nerves that control breathing are cooked. All that aside I still need to get outdoors as much as possible.
@@KirkHermary Same here with health taken us out. Trying to get back into it little by little to be able to do more and more. Actually heading out tomorrow for an overnight bushcraft camp. Got a couple small projects I want to improve on. Keep gettin out bro.
I hope your adventure goes well.
@bankbeaterzoutdoors6185 it's currently sunny and -25°C/-13°F here this afternoon.

Hahaha, so good!
Nice shots of the deer. Beautiful landscapes in snow 😊
@EventyrsorenDenmark thanks so much! I have not been getting out in nature enough. But to see those deer, and so close to me, helped remind me of why I must keep getting outdoors.
Meowgii like deer hehe
They are very nice. We also have lots of other critters in the city. From little rabbits to moose and elk. Sometimes the big cats, like lynx come here(they mostly stick to the Rocky Mountains. The odd time we get black bears and brown bears. Lots of coyotes too.
John Cena is a sneaky one…

@wildedibles819 it started off as an idea for a fun video... it didn't have the pop volcanoes I was hoping for. But it was a fun outing 🙌🏻🤓

@wildedibles819 Thank you so much! My sister and I were trying to figure out a way to reach out to youth with all of their weird sayings and expressions these days. Also, I just found out iPhone has a call recording feature(I use Android).

That's for sure! Thanks so much for checking it out. I'm not getting out as often as I used to, breathing issues are no fun... but I figured I'd share my latest adventure. The area, Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary, is very nice. However long ago the Red Deer River used to meander quite a bit through there, now there are two bodies of water surrounded by roads and buildings. Probably 500 meters from where the river flows nowadays. Thanks again for stopping by.
@@KirkHermary glad to see you getting outside! There's a river near me called the Saco that changes course with the season as well.
@DanielKezar I'm trying to find more information on when "Gaetz Lakes" formed. But I know one thing for sure... before Dickson Dam was built the river would flood every spring and summer and dry up just as things froze up in the fall. Since the dam we have regulated flows, a year round supply, and they can give us the exact second levels will peak/flood here(when the dam levels max out).
I'm reading about the Saco River, interesting history too.
@@KirkHermary very interesting. dam infrastructure is so fascinating as well.
Great job, Kirk, with this video and your other ones!❤
Thank you for your kind words and for watching!
Yes dare to dream and take the jump but there is more to live then just life... I believe there's an after life of some sort and sometimes my dreams change because I'm not willing to take that kind of jump but you don't have to go against your integratity in every jump you go to make ❤ Love it Hope you are well Much love xoxox
You made a really good point here. Thanks so much for checking this out. My friend Paul had asked if I'd share his video on my channel. I'll be sure to share your comment with him.
Um... i have the same shirt in M81 woodland and its not made for cold weather man... its almost all cotton which will kill you in cold weather. Plus its a combat shirt meant for a plate carrier in hot climates. If you want a cold weather combat shirt get a BDU or ACU button up blouse
@recon1986 at what part in the video did I say it is made for cold weather? What timestamp do I say made for cold weather? I was seeing how it suited me over a couple of outings in different weather conditions.
so what brought you to saying "Yeah, then he ran scared and abandoned his partner. Weaksauce." Under a video of two officers being killed and the third one barely escaping while three gunmen were shooting at him.
@mr-glizzer3332 the fact that four cops went in. Unfortunately two were fatally shot right there. The cop wearing the body cam hid behind a tree, was more concerned about using his phone and not firing his gun, and left the other surviving cop alone. At one point the fire was so close to the other surviving cop the flames were at her feet.
@@KirkHermary Dude they aren't special forces, he had a pistol with LEAST two mags. He cant put down suppressive, he is outmanned and he has NO EYES on where they are. At first i thought that this is rage bait but no, all the "nature vids, and tacticool gear you have has really brought down your intelligence. Also take a ponder on what he was doing with the phone. Do you think that he was watching tik tok? Or maybe texting his wife "oi i might not make it today love ya" I'm sure you'd do the same with Kita dayton if that was the case. I'll repeat again because just because somone has tacticool gear doesnt mean they're smart. He was outgunned, out positioned and most but not least had no eyes on them. Three suspects all with long guns looking for him. He did the best he could, He did more than you ever could. I'll love to recreate this scenario with you and your loved ones but you wearing the bodycam.
@@KirkHermary Also theres only three officers on scene BOTH DYING INSTANTLY
@@KirkHermary Also correction on the phone, He was using the phone as a radio to contact his chief or something like that. Jesus youre dense.
@@KirkHermary ANOTHER THING. HE FIRED HIS GUN BUT WAS MADE AWARE OF MORE GUNMEN AFTER DOING SO. nice house mate
how much in cm i need to know im swedish
@wannabestreamer.13 hi, excellent question. You want a square 🟥 100cm×100cm would be awesome. You could go a bit smaller, let's say 90cm×90cm... you just want to make sure it can tie around your head/face. Please let me know if there is any other information I can help you with.
@@KirkHermary thank you already making it
@wannabestreamer.13 that is awesome 🙌🏻
I have been wanting a desert camo shemagh forever, i just never have the extra money , now i can custom make one , or , ya know, my birthday is coming un a couple days , i would happily wear one of your fine garments 😁!
The least expensive would be to find the exact camo and fabric type you want. Look for a local store or order online. I have been able to find all kinds of good quality prints online. Let's say you really want CADPAT. Search for it, perhaps in 100% cotton. Make sure it is around a square meter(a square yard would be fine). Follow this video, and you'll have the exact shemagh you want.
Is there ww2 stuff there??
I haven't made it to the store in about a year. Last time I was there, about a year ago, was similar stock to what is in my video. There is definitely some old school stock bit I would say more from Korea(1950-1953) to now. Because we can't legally have CADPAT anything the only CAF stock will be things such as Camelbaks and the odd gloves. They have a ton of CAF surplus, all pre CADPAT though.
@@KirkHermary ok thank you
@@Randomdoughboy thanks for checking out the video. It's been ages since I regularly made content. It's cool when I get a comment out of nowhere. Have a great day.

I didn't wake up thinking I'd learn new things from a sloth. But there it is. And he's wearing shorts. Awesome test man!
@woodsghost9088 Thanks! Squishy was just a friend's stuffed animal I borrowed for a video one day. I wanted to raise awareness about pets in disasters and evacuations... but I didn't have a pet so Squishy made his first appearance. Then, as time went on he would make the odd guest appearance. I'm glad you enjoyed this 👍🏻
Even though they are no longer in use it's technically trespassing but i do it cuz I explore that abandoned rail crap
Be sure to let the CN Rail Police know ✅️
@KirkHermary I love exploring abandoned CN rail lines at red deer area I'm just saying it's technically still trespassing I think that's why I said that I not trying to hate here I love to explore CN rails abandoned rails at red deer
the man, the myth, the legend, back outside again!
Thanks friend 🙌🏻 Since getting sick last September getting outside was almost impossible over the cold months. It's going to be nice here soon as trees start budding and things turn green and bloom. Can't beat getting out in nature.
@@KirkHermary glad to see you are back in nature! Hopefully some sunshine will help you heal too
Nothing better than time in the great outdoor. Cool shots of the deer.😊😊😊
Getting outside in nature is very important for me. I got sick in September last year. Trying to breathe out in the cold air was very difficult. Now that the warm weather is here I am trying to build up my strength and health again. Thank you for giving this a watch and leaving a nice comment.

Lekker 🤙
Would that be considered a creek or a stream🤔. Really nice buddy it's relaxing camping close to flowing water.
Both words are used interchangeably here. Anything that flows a substantial difference but not as wide and deep as a river is called either a creek or stream. The official name there is Piper Creek. A few kilometers downstream it flows into Waskasoo Creek which flows into Red Deer River.
very peaceful!
Thanks! Indeed it is. I recently was on a walk with a friend who fell on hard times. He found the simple bit of nature at that point to be very therapeutic.
@@KirkHermary indeed. Cities are the bane of everything beautiful. The stress, the smog, the commercialism. Covering up and replacing nature.
So beautiful nature. This is what we all need more of.Thanks. Have a wonderful day.
Hi 👋🏻 thanks for stopping by. I don't go on this platform as often as I used to. When I was out hiking that gurgling creek was so nice I just had to share it.

@@KirkHermary Nature is a miracle! It loves us and cares for us, but most of us ignore it and destroy it! Happy day my dear friend! 🌿🌻🌴🌹🏵🥀
@@Charoulitsa2579 it is important we all slow down to appreciate and remember nature. Like my city, for many years it has grown fast and turned farmers fields and forests into roads, shopping centers, and houses. Growth and development is good but we have to save some nature.

it was wicked hazy here and the moon was red. I wonder if the smoke travelled across the continent like it did with the california fires
We have light smog here in Ontario I think there's a fire in manatoba but nothing in Ontario....
That looks a tad on the cold side bro !! 😣 I can tell by the 'squeak' of the snow that it is well into the minus !
Hey Kirk bro !! I hope there is no danger to your community from the fires !! Wonderful to see you posting again brother !! I hope all is well !!
That is crazy
What kind of fabric did you use, i'm building myself one of these, thanks a lot
I used some 100% cotton I found at a craft store. Just about any fabric from natural, to synthetic, to blends. Some cotton to me feels very stiff until washed a few times, also the dye can bleed a little. So to take care of that I like to handwash the shemagh and hang it to dry a few times.
@@KirkHermary thank you so much🙏🏼
