They are all good knives. Get the manix in your favorite steel/color, and you will be happy. So so many amazing steals: bd1n, s30v, m390, crewear, s110v, magnacut, maxamet. So many.
I don't understand why you would show a left handed Spyderco without showing a righty for comparison. Since most, if not all, other Spydercos are righty only or at least biased that way, you're not showing us anything useful. If you're a lefty, mastering a Shaman e.g. takes a lot of practice and could use some helpful tips! Just sayin' -
Just found your channel. Subbed. I’m a lefty who married a left-handed woman and we have one child..a left-handed daughter👍🏻
I had both and out of the box the QSP Penguin came dangerously sharp.. a good margin more then my Elementum. I also preferred the QSP Micarta.
They need to do a native with a ball lock or compression and itd be the perfect knife
I bet all knife manufacturers have wheelchair ramps at their factories and offices yet they see fit to completely ignore your disability! That’s a total disgrace!! Do left handed people get special parking spaces near shop doors?
Who are we?
Thank you kindly for this review <3
Astute has the same cutting edge length as Endela. I think it's fantastic in such a small knife, sadly still no upgrade or short runs with better steel.... Great urban EDC , nevertheless
Have you tried putting the civivi logo on the other side?
I have the Elementum, which I really like. The problem I have is it can open in my pocket because the clip is not reversible. Kind of dangerous.
Being left handed I was stoked to get my lefty PM2 in s45vn. Carry it everyday
How are you enjoying it a year later
I remember in the mid 90's seeing a gun magazine that had a full page back cover ad advertising a Benchmade knife. at that point in time I had never heard of Benchmade but the ad caught my attention. A dinner table with a T-bone steak on a big plate and a big fork holding down the steak. The knife had cut through the plate the fork and the T-bone in one clean surgical slice. I didn't have an in depth knowledge of knife blade metallurgy at the time but that ad really was an attention getter. I had to have one... I remember talking with a guy that ran a knife shop at a mall and he said that the blade steel was nicknamed the "Steel of the Gods" and took the knife I had on me and shaved the edge off of it with a Benchmade from the display case in the store. he laughed and I was a little pissed but it was not an expensive knife although, I cant recall the actual type of steel the Benchmade was. Sometime later as luck would have it back around 1996 I ran across a display case of Benchmades being sold in a pawn shop in Omaha. so I looked at them as he had a couple different types including an auto, I want to say it was an Elishewitz design but not 100% sure and actually was heavier and a little bigger than I was used to carrying but it was the "Steel of the Gods" and my knife was missing its edge so I convinced the proprietor to sell it to me being prior military (Benchmade has that rule about selling autos to civilians), spent way to much for it and the pawn shop guy says to me, you know this is a left handed knife? Well, I'm a lefty and thought WTF? is a left handed knife? Then he shows me, the blade was dull black with a single beveled edge and serrations on the RIGHT SIDE of the blade as was the release button but I cant recall the type of locking design …I want to say the handle was synthetic not metal. man there was no other like my left handed auto Benchmade "Steel of the Gods" knife and I carried that treasure with me for a dozen years before I lost it in the fire...spelt divorce... I've contacted Benchmade a few times over the years trying to procure another left handed blade but seems everyone that worked there in that time frame is no longer around and the people I did speak to told me I am mistaken as no such animal ever existed. I've been wrong a few times in my life but this is not one of those times. there are to many memory points and quite a few people that I showed a left handed knife to, for me to be wrong. I'm hoping someone somewhere can shed some light on that knife …I mean ...I'm not crazy and they had to make more than one ... thanx for your time...
My main problem is closing liner locks. I literally searched out this video because I just flipped my praxis closed on my thumb and chopped a bit of thumb off. :/
On thank Christ a channel showing only lefty knives?
Great video thanks. Love the pintail
To me, I have to give it the Penguin solely based on the fact that its on washers and is everybit as drop shut as the Elementum which runs on bearings!
I didn't really like the QSP Penguin. It's a good blade but the action sucks. After I disassembled it applied some KPL, loosed the pivot screw just a cunt hair, and centered the blade, it's better. Now, I actually have been carrying as my EDC for a couple weeks. I do like the sheepsfoot blade though. I'm gonna grab an Elemuntum in Scarlett micarta with a black blade this month. I'm waiting for a package with a Boker Sub Kalashnikov auto and a Boker Kalashnikov slim auto. My next purchase is going to be the Elementum though.
Having never owned a Compresion Lock knive ...it just sppears that unlocking the blade is more natural with a Compression Lock....one finger operation. Nitpick. My SOG has a BB Lock. Could use just one nub (just not recommended...for longevity). Both are priced within a few dollars of each other....the Para 3 and Manix 2.... Size---though the Manix 2 is larger (wider)....probably woudn't sit as comfortably in a jeans pocket (no clip used) vs the Para 3 being narrower. In a jacket pocket...no difference....depending on how many items you have...Manx 2/keys--ok. ...with phone? Para 3...heh... ....for EDC...."size matters". the smaller/narrower the beter.
Carried the D2/denim micarta Penguin for last couple years. Own over 100 knives of all types and values. The Penguin is one of my favorite edc knives of all time. Purchased the Knifecenter exclusive in S35VN about a month ago. It replaced the D2. Own the Elementum as well, even bought my sister one, but the Penguin is a superior edc folder in my opinion. Of course I carry one in my right pocket as well and it's usually a Spyderco, Benchmade, Civivi, Kizer and many others. It changes weekly or so. The Penguin stays in my left pocket always.
🤬 those 🤡 at spyderco!
Just got one and it has the same stiffness problem, is it hard to get the burr off? do i need a special file?
Orrrr you could use BrakeKleen… it eats the sh!t away
Thanks for the tip, good to know. Yet another use for BrakeKleen. That stuff is potent!
A knife is lefthanded for me when the clip is on the correct side of the knife! Otherwise the opening mechanism is backwards in the pocket
Everything is righthanded.... cooking stoves, knives, microwaves, scissors, computers, cars, fishing reels, etc etc... Its really painfull to experience sometimes☹️☹️
As a lefty I also love the Manix 2. But at the price point and my experience with the Spyderco Efficient I'm wary. Efficient came with a super stiff blade from the factory and overly aggressive detent.
My son is a lefty. He's 10 and the size is perfect for him. He is ADHD asf, and loves the fidget factor of my elementum. Any ambidextrous flippers you're familiar with?
get him a balisong trainer or an otf if its legal
Own 3 tenacious, 2 of them chipped the tip from average use, third one hasn't....yet..... Love the tenacious so much I look past something that would be a deal breaker for other companies, idk why. The resilience and emphasis are also entry be level knifes from Spyderco
Just got one this week. As a long time collector I finally decided to try the knife. I have to say that I can see why the 940 has been a favorite for so long. I have enjoyed mine so far. And no QC issues.
The Benchmade 940 are completely ambidextrous, as are many of their axis lock knives.
I recently bought the Para 3 with S45VN steel. While not a lightweight knife, it's the most left-handed folder I've seen. The cutting edge is amazing. I didn't think anything would take the place of my Civii Pintail. But it has.
Everything good?
Noticed you chamfered the edges on the G10. After years of owning it, and just dealing with the way it came from factory, I finally did the same. It's like a dream to hold now. Amazingly comfortable. A most-do mod.
Price is $240.00 today, might find under $200.00 today.🥰
It's great to have a full sized knife like the Manix2 that only weighs 3oz.
When are you guys going to make a new video
As a lefty I can highly recommend the Civivi Cogent button lock knife. Button locks are a great option for left handed users.
I have all three. The Pintail is the clear winner, if your pocketbook is able.
ill have them all within a year or so, it took me years to break down and buy one, but, after i did i was hooked....
So, have you collected them all by now?
Hey as a lefty this is obviously the place to go. It's so irritating to see lefty's left out of the conversation of ergonomics all the time. Thank you so much!
As a left handed person who carries an assisted Flipper how do you decide the best position to put the pocket clip? I like to carry tip up but don’t know what side the clip should be on for best comfort and fastest draw.
Where did you get this? I want this version as I don’t care for the newer version that has the black screws, clip etc. I saw that you posted a Amazon link. If you click the link some people are claiming to get the version with the black hardware.
Thank You!
Are you ok?
SIT-E-US (citius)
Am left handed. But better fidgeting knives with my right. Would like a knife specific for left handers. The spiderco para 2 seems to fit the bill.
Another lefty just subbed 👍
I'm gonna be honest and try not to say this with disrespectful undertones ....if you feel the clip on either of the knives .....you don't use your hands enough ....build up some calluses gents!
but my mom yanked down my Farrah Fawcett poster
You're paying 18$ extra for bearings ....QSP all day for me
Honestly as a left handed person this seems like what I’m looking for. The clip looks like it’s left hand oriented or atleast reversible which is a must for me. Has a blade 3in which can be used anywhere basically, except California because their knife laws are a joke, and small enough to fit in my cramped tool belt and at a reasonable price. But honestly knife laws are so annoying when you try to find a decent blade, especially if you’re a lefty wanting a left handed carry knife that doesn’t have enough money to afford a nice blade like spiderco paramilitary 2. My state and local laws allow for any size blade and even up to 7 inches, but if I’m going to be travelling for work or just travelling in general into blue states then legality will be a problem.
