It’s possible they have a down year adjusting to new teams and places to play. But it’s hard to take this version of the big13 seriously with teams like Cincinnati and Houston lmao.

I think people read to heavy into last year. JD5 and nuss are different style of QBs and LSU has a completely different offensive plan this year compared to last year. Nuss is a gunslinger he’s going to do gunslinger things. He just gotta be consistent and not make dumb mistakes. LSUs defense from what’s coming out of fall camp is going to be better than last year no doubt. I think LSU is the underrated team this year. If their defense is in the top 30 or 40 defenses in the country and their offense does as predicted which is be in the top 10. They are definitely a play off team.

Not sure about Fuente, he was successful before arriving. If you will remember Beamer struggled for several seasons. Can’t stand when people that know very little about football act like they know so much. As a player we just called them nerds.

Yes, they're bringing back Rising, but only after a catastrophic knee injury that'll limit his effectiveness as a runner which was a big part of his game. I see another 8-win season incoming, no better than 4th place finish in the conference.

Easy over, they will be favored in virtually every one of their games with the only tough stretch coming right at the start of conference play. At Oklahoma state and home against Arizona in back to back weeks. Oklahoma state relies heavily on their run game while Utah had one of the best run defenses last year with multiple starters out. That being said going on the road to an environment like OK state is never easy and is in my opinion Utah's most likely L. Arizona is breaking in a new coaching staff and essentially a new defense. You get Fifita and T-Mac back, though I tend to hold my breath with players like these because the sophomore slump is a real phenomena. Arizona will not catch anyone off guard, least of which is Utah who played that game in Tucson last year with over 80% of their starters out. With Arizona showing a bit of gamesmanship at the end of the contest last year I would expect a rude welcoming into SLC for that contest. I think Utah walks away with the win after an emotional revenge game. Speaking of revenge games, the holy war is in SLC this year. With Byu looking to have a rough year, I expect Utah to really lay the wood on the cougars this year despite the typical closeness in rivalry games. There are other potentially close matchups; the finale in Orlando is an intriguing matchup, especially if Utah has already clinched a spot in the championship game. UCF could catch Utah sleeping as they prepare for the championship game. I doubt Colorado will put up much of a fight, but that game is on the road and could come at a crucial time in the buff's season where a bowl game could easily slip out of reach with a loss. The real question for Utah is health. Can Cam Rising and the weapons on offense stay on the field, can the uber productive defense stay intact? Utah is deep at many key positions but they definitely cannot go 3-5 guys deep like they were doing last year for most of the season. TLDR: Utah goes 11-1, conference champs with real potential to make some noise in the playoffs.

Deboer smashed the two top candidates most sidewalk fans wanted. Lanning and Sark. And he did it two years in a row after taking over a program that was 4-8 the previous year that he got there. Yes he will win at Alabama. And he will have a much easier time doing it with an expanded playoff.
