This really saddens me. I lived in Indian Rocks Beach for 10 years, on 15th Ave. We would have lost everything. My thoughts and prayers are with the residents of IRB
Adam, you might need that coat for Akaska.. Hoodie not going to cut it
This is nothing that hasn't happen before. Hurricane Glades did very similar flooding to Madeira and Treasure island. If you build to "V" zone standards the damages can become minimal. I have stated mitigation issues for the past 30 years, but no one listens!
Anyone know if John's pass is open? Lol
I have been vacationing at Treasure Island on and off since I was a child and I finally got my wife and son hooked back in 2021 and we have been staying at Sea Jay every April and this honestly breaks my heart! Last year we had my In-laws with and they did their in-law things, but I love them
I've been staying at Sea Jay since 2021 and this absolutely breaks my heart! My family loves John's Pass and Treasure Island and we just hope and pray for everyone that lives there and we hope that we can visit again in 2025 and help support the community!
It’s tough to see what has happened but they will be back and better than ever 😁
I Am A Fisherman An Stone Crabber That Goes Outta Johns Pass Whats Funny Is John Milton It's Like Saying Johns Pass Cause John Came By Water. From Bay Pines To That Bridge Is A Route Called 666 An I'm Born An Raised Here. So I Can Promise Paradise Isn't Lost Its Just Getting A New Restoration. We Will Never Bend MacDill Could Have Used There Frequency Weapons To Steer It An It Wemt More South Away But System Was To Big. I know how to end hurricane season for good and that is to keep the waters under 76° during the summer time I've been getting it out talking to the right people. We Shall Recover
Adding some narration and elimating the music would improve this video.
There is a reason why they are called BARRIER ISLANDS. No sympathy for those who build there. There should be no public monies given to those who rebuild.
I used to ride my motorcycle on this exactSaturdafrom clearwater to Caddy's on T.I. So sad to see it now.
Yeah Caddy’s had a ton of sand pilled up around it. I’m sure they will rebuild! 😁
Can someone please drive down Glendale on the beach. You drove down Cambria, the next street over.
Did the Middle Grounds Grille get destroyed also?
So glad I came down there last year and got to see Anna Maria Island & Treasure Island for the last time. It'll be years before that comes back. Not worth it.... anybody that buys a home in Florida is crazy
Thank You Thank You ! I looked for an hour, could not find our favorite vacation place . I left for the kitchen, came back, and this was playing on the playlist. 4:45 is where I plan to go again
@@dougesque5224 Glad it was in the video for you! Good take some work rebuilding but will be back up and just like before hopefully in no time!!
I lived on Isle of Palms, too. Many years ago. Many happy memories there. My hearts hurts for everyone there. I hope they can rebuild. 🙏 😢
It is tough to see but they will rebuild. Just will take a bit of time. Thanks for watching!
Bueno acá esta bien...
It looks beautiful. How much damage did it suffer in the recent hurricanes?
There is a good amount of damage. Some places will hopefully be open soon but other wills take a while.
Just how bad is Madeira beach? And John’s pass? I have plans to visit the area for the first time over Christmas. My potential landlord won’t give me any details of how severe the damage is due to both of the hurricanes.
There is significant damage there. Especially anything that was on the bottom floor since most damage was from storm surge.
Thank you for your response. Do you think John’s pass will be recovered by yes holiday season.
@@ritaklopfenstein971 No, its completely gone. So is your home, I just drove by it. It was the one with rhe mail box and the door right? Yea, gone man.
This breaks my heart for everyone effected by the hurricanes. I hope they get the help they need to rebuild their lives. 😢
It’s tough but so are the people here. Will take time but they will be back and better than ever. Thanks for watching!

My happy place. As a teen, I lived on Treasure Island and have so many memories of good times in John's Pass. Fishing from the Friendly Fisherman and walking the board too many times to count. This breaks my heart. Sunset Bch is unrecoverable. I 🙏 for all trying to recover. Paradise - until Mother Nature has other plans. 😢 💔 ⛱️ TY for the video.
You’re welcome. I will take some time but the area will recover!! 😁
Thanks for sharing. Family has loved vacationing at Treasure Island for almost 60 years. Such great memories. I'm sure it will be back.
@@experimenttryingtouploadst1204 Thanks for watching!!
Very familiar with the area and this drive through was an eye opener. Junk on Treasure and sand on Sunset. Impressive and sad. When you're ready, we'll be back.
Yeah it is crazy to see all the damaged items on the side of the road. Thanks for watching!!
So many good memories in IRB.
Thank you for this. 😂 That area still has my heart even though I had to move away years ago.
You’re welcome. 😁
We all knew that this day would finely come. By spring break season, most will be back in operation.
I think that’s a pretty accurate timeline! 😁
Very annoyed that this President didn’t go too Treasure Island or Madeira Beach .🙏🙏🙏
As long as the help comes to those areas, that’s all I care about. Thanks for watching! 😁
Have you been to South Pasadena?! My mom lives there and is staying with me. Her power is still out and cannot leave till it's back in.
No, I haven’t been down there to see how it looks. Duke Energy says everyone should be up by Tuesday at midnight, hopefully they stick to that time frame.
Sorry. God bless. In no time Milton & Helene will be a distant memory
@@markdinkel-uh2jeThanks 😁
We used to vacation at Madeira Beach Yacht Club condos and Archibald beach access and buy fish at Don’s Dock fish market.
It is a great area. The beach access at Archibald has a ton of sand in the parking lot now though. I think they put it there and then transport it wherever they decided to take the sand. Hopefully it will be back up soon! 😁
The fools and their water
The fools are the ones who don’t believe that climate change is causing all the disasters all across the country!!! Tell the people in Asheville that they are fools for living in the mountains!! Think about your statement before posting!!!!
Sopooooooo why do you live there! I got out 5 years ago, smart guy Huh!
So the entire state should move? Should the entire gulf coast move as well? How about totally out of California as well since they have wildfires and earthquakes. Guess the Midwest should clear out too since they get tornados all the time!

Thank you for posting this ..i use to live there so sad to see Milton wreck the beaches
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!
Worked at Tampa VA and Bay Pines VA. Spent many years out on those beautiful beaches and people. They will come back stronger than ever!! Blessings to all my Florida friends.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
Many thanks for this tour of the aftermath. As a former resident of Pinellas County for 12 years, 6.5 were in IRB, I traveled Gulf Boulevard daily. My late husband worked at Smuggler's gulf course in Indian Shores just north of where this footage was shot. Just heartbreaking to see all of this damage. When I moved to that area in 2004 people asked me why that area? I said because no hurricanes! That same year, we dodged a direct hit of 3 hurricanes. In 2016, we moved to Cocoa Beach area and now have had a share of them here also. It is a part of the area this weather. But Milton was a very bad boy with all the tornado activity. Over 100+ tornado warnings were had during that storm. I will not leave to reside somewhere else unless it is USVI. 🤗 ❤
I think a lot of people think Tampa gets hit by hurricanes all the time, but no direct hit for 100 years! Not that we don’t get the effects of other storms. Helene wasn’t even close to a direct hit yet cause so much damage. I think if you live anywhere in Florida, you just have to expect that things like this may happen. Thanks for watching!! 😁
@@88mphadventures And thank you for filming this. 🤗
Thank you for this. I could see the sign for Sand Pebble both times as you passed it, but because it sits further back, was unable to see how the building faired. My family left Treasure Island on the Saturday before Helene hit to fly home (we had been there for a week), but had friends staying 2 weeks who got evacuated, both locals and from near where we live who all had to make their ways home safely. As one of my favourite places on earth, its hard to see the area with so much sand and trash to clean up. Hopefully locals will continue working together to clean up the islands. Best wishes and safety to all affected.
I think people have been really good with helping each other out with cleanup and just helping each other in general. It will take a lot of cleanup and time, but eventually it will be back to normal. Thanks for watching!!
It is a tuff thing to see I was just helping the people whom live in Maderia Beach that were impacted. HENCE fair warning them to leave again for Milton. So many people lost everything thank you for sharing this video ❤
I think people took this one more serious after what happened with Helene. They saw how much damage storm surge really can do!
My son lives on Treasure Island with his wife and we have lived on Redington Shores for the last four years. I guess I’m trying to see the things to be thankful for. Both islands look so much better than I thought they would. In my mind I am comparing it to the devastation I saw on the Isle of Palms in South Carolina after Hugo. That was my home the year before it hit there and when I went back six months later, it was unrecognizable. So glad these Islands have fared better! I love this area and can’t wait to get back after repairs are done. You never know how much you love being part of a community until you’re forced to leave. ❤
I think it could have been a lot worse, even though there is still a lot of damage. It wasn’t a storm that knocked buildings down per se, more of a lot of flooding from storm surge so just a lot of interior furniture and items that were damaged. Still tough to deal with either way.
FYI .. Minute Marker 13:00ish .. You Drove by the Condo of “The Macho Man” Randy Savage .. NOT a Nice Person! Came Out of His Condo and Threatened Us For Walking “ON THE BEACH” in Front of His Back Patio! Sorry, Macho Man .. BEACH IS PUBLIC

Sending hope for better days.
I noticed the Snack Shack was still standing. Hung out at that beach every Sunday with friends growing up. Miss those days.
It’s still there but I believe they sustained a lot of damage to the equipment on the inside. Hopefully they can get everything back to the way it was!
I live here. Cleaned up very quick. Didn’t get a hard hit like Ft. Meyers with Ian. The people will have Maderia & Treasure island back in no time! 👍❤️
Glad you were able to make it through ok 😁
I'm searching for someone that could give me the true conditions of Madeira Beach. We have a trip planned to stay across from Johns Pass 11-17 for a week. Trip was planned last year and have to make a decision if I should cancel. The place we're staying can't give us any info except what they may post on Facebook. If you could give me info on conditions of beach, Johns Pass it would be so helpful! Thanks 😊
@@karenmiller128 My aunt and uncle have a timeshare at the Voyager over in Treasure Island - they said they'd be closed for4 weeks. If you mean Nov. 11-17, my guess is it's going to depend on a lot of factors - Voyager just got a lot of damage by water to the officebut no rooms on the 1st floor so all okay there, I think. Sorry I can't help with your specific location, but it's a point of refernce. Maybe call some of the stores/restaurants in the area? Once power is fully restored someone would probably be in to help. So many wonderful memories of this island. Prayers to all for a rebuild and staying safe and strong . Much love ❤❤🌴
Thanks for watching!! 😁
Yeah, that’s a shame. I used to fish there when I was a kid. There wasn’t a single building on that peninsula of treasure Island
Then it has definitely changed a lot since then!!
Don’t buy a car that was titled in Florida in 2024. They’re all gonna be rust buckets
Thanks for posting. Heartbreaking to see our beautiful city that we love looking like this :(
It’s tough but people will rebuild and be back better than ever. Just gonna take some time. Thanks for watching!! 😁
My dear Madeira Beach home has taken on many years of strange slants of unattrative develpoments. How her simple ease has changed from just the quiet Barrier island's beauty. She never had interest to keep up with the trends. My first memorial Christmas tree. My parents married at Church By the Sea. As a little girl, I could not understand people going to the Church, when the Sea was across the street. The bike rides and a rich little girl idea of ice cream cone. The local old Legion Beach and cars parked on its sandy grounds. The first John Pass with the Shrimp Boat landing and the shrimp bins. Bussed to Treasure Isl for school. The Silver Diner across Piggly Wiggly. And the Bath Club on Redington: swim lessons from George Simon 'The Turtle.' My first job on Treasure Isl at Happy Dolphin Inn. No AC. But the sounds get inside the body memory. I have had a heart ache and deep grief. Thank you for your video.
A lot has changed there in just the 9 years that I have been here, so I can only imagine over a lifetime all the changes that have come in all of these years. Thanks for sharing your memories of the area!! It may not be the same as it was years ago, but it will be back up and thriving soon!!
Yes, I moved there in 1964 as a child. I’m so sad and what it’s become.
Such devastation. Do you have a video of the beach area for Madeira and Redington Beach? I wonder how the beaches and back yards did …
I have not do any for the actual beach section, other than the one I did showing Treasure Island after Helene. A lot of the parking lots for the beach have TONS of sand piled up on them. I think they are using them to clear sand from roads as a staging ground before they send it wherever it gets sent. I will try and film some beaches when I get the chance.
Evacuated from Redington Shores before Helene and went back to retrieve what I could. The beaches were covered with debris and did not smell good. That old rotting seaweed smell! The water was really tainted. Some erosion and all of the sand dunes near the complex I lived in were gone. Just flat sand all the way up to the exposed small seawall along the total beach I could see. I’ve had to evacuate to the other side of the state where thankfully I can live with my son. Watching this video really made me homesick. Maybe we’ll go back there to rent while we wait for repairs. It really looks much better than I thought it would. Most of the debris being gone was so helpful! Thanks for posting the video. I guess watching this is the next best thing to being there. I feel so isolated from where I love! 😪
Breaks my heart. Lived in Madeira Beach and Treasure Island 47 years ago. Still vacation there. Does anyone remember Skips Bar in Madeira Beach ? 3:40
It’s tough to see the damage but they will be back on their feet in no time!
Can't say I remember Skips, but if you took a left down 140th there, you'd be at my last home on Mad Beach.
YES! I lived across the street above the TV repair shop and could walk to Skips. I worked at he Candy kitchen during college and the old Brown Derby Santa Madeira . I also lived above the Coney island hot dog place next to Candy Kitchen. I laugh and say we were the hippies back then. I went there in 76 and stayed 6 years. I want my ashes spread on Mad Beach when the time comes... I had a plane ticket for the 25th and canceled last minute. This is gut wrenching.
