Heading there in February , hoping things are better

Will you be doing monthly updates? We will be visiting in March at Treasure Island area.

I live in South Pasadena and that night forever changed the city. We saw 5 feet of flooding rip through my neighborhood, but thankfully, my apartment is 6 feet above the ground. I feel really bad for my neighbors who live at ground level. They still have not repaired their house and no one has moved back into the little duplexes on the same street.

Nice of you to post this but just driving down the main road doesn’t tell us if the city areas, shopping areas, beaches and resort areas of Madeira Beach are open and back to normal for all the snow birds coming in January and February.

You would think the city would give free parking to help the businesses recover

I haven't been to John's Pass in a long time. Most of it looks familiar. The $4.00/hr to park is crazy but that's my opinion. Thank you for sharing.

People tend to cancel planned trips and go somewhere else that was not affected like the east coast beaches, crowds will be back in the spring

This video only shows a small proportion of the massive destruction of 2 consecutive ground zero hurricanes to have hit the City of Treasure Island within 1 month. Hundreds of homes are destroyed and will be demolished. The small city will never be the same and many of the businesses will not reopen. Unfortunately, the Mayor of Treasure Island lacked the backbone to lead the recovery effort and quickly resigned. Hopefully, somehow a real leader will emerge and take charge of this recovery effort!

This really saddens me. I lived in Indian Rocks Beach for 10 years, on 15th Ave. We would have lost everything. My thoughts and prayers are with the residents of IRB

This is nothing that hasn't happen before. Hurricane Glades did very similar flooding to Madeira and Treasure island. If you build to "V" zone standards the damages can become minimal. I have stated mitigation issues for the past 30 years, but no one listens!

I have been vacationing at Treasure Island on and off since I was a child and I finally got my wife and son hooked back in 2021 and we have been staying at Sea Jay every April and this honestly breaks my heart! Last year we had my In-laws with and they did their in-law things, but I love them

I've been staying at Sea Jay since 2021 and this absolutely breaks my heart! My family loves John's Pass and Treasure Island and we just hope and pray for everyone that lives there and we hope that we can visit again in 2025 and help support the community!

So glad I came down there last year and got to see Anna Maria Island & Treasure Island for the last time. It'll be years before that comes back. Not worth it.... anybody that buys a home in Florida is crazy

I lived on Isle of Palms, too. Many years ago. Many happy memories there. My hearts hurts for everyone there. I hope they can rebuild. 🙏 😢

It looks beautiful. How much damage did it suffer in the recent hurricanes?

Just how bad is Madeira beach? And John’s pass? I have plans to visit the area for the first time over Christmas. My potential landlord won’t give me any details of how severe the damage is due to both of the hurricanes.

This breaks my heart for everyone effected by the hurricanes. I hope they get the help they need to rebuild their lives. 😢

My happy place. As a teen, I lived on Treasure Island and have so many memories of good times in John's Pass. Fishing from the Friendly Fisherman and walking the board too many times to count. This breaks my heart. Sunset Bch is unrecoverable. I 🙏 for all trying to recover. Paradise - until Mother Nature has other plans. 😢 💔 ⛱️ TY for the video.

Thanks for sharing. Family has loved vacationing at Treasure Island for almost 60 years. Such great memories. I'm sure it will be back.

Very familiar with the area and this drive through was an eye opener. Junk on Treasure and sand on Sunset. Impressive and sad. When you're ready, we'll be back.
