Today I am doing an Open Cup Pour using FolkArt Color Shift, Eye Candy Pigment, DecoArt Americana Pearls, DecoArt Extreme Sheen and Artist's Loft paints on a repurposed 8"x10" canvas by Artist's Loft. Please watch until the end of the video as the dry result is there.
An Open Cup Pour is when you pour paint into a flat container (cup cut in half so it is open on both ends, cookie cutter, etc.) placed in paint that is already on the canvas. The heavier paint pushes itself out from the bottom of the container and into the paint already on the canvas.
My canvas is a repurposed canvas which I painted black. My puddle I poured in the center of the canvas is recycled paint (the paint I scraped from my table, no paint gets wasted). The colors I am using today are Neon Pink by Artist's Loft, Pastel Pink by FolkArt Color Shift, Rose Quartz by DecoArt Extreme Sheen, Snow White by DecoArt Americana Pearls, Neon Purple by Artist's Loft, Pastel Purple by FolkArt Color Shift and Kawachi Fuji by Eye Candy Pigments. All of my paints are of the same consistency as consistency is IMPORTANT!
My pouring medium today is Flood Floetrol and Liquitex High Gloss Varnish. My ratio is 2:1 (2 parts pouring medium to 1 part paint).
