DIY Motion Control Christmas
มุมมอง 1742 ปีที่แล้ว
We made a DIY motion control rig for a Christmas shoot, and it worked a treat! HomeSense are one of our regular clients, and they approached us with a challenging brief that could only be achieved with motion control. The challenge was that it was for their social channels, and we couldn't afford to use any of the readily available motion control systems to achieve it. So out came the toolbox a...

    Low humidity in Japan 😅😅😅 ... What planet are you on. That's why a lot of far east photographers using humidity control cabinets. They weren't sold to the general public, and the videos on this camera by Japan Camera Hunter and Analog Insights are well worth a watch, and it's worth mentioning that the restriction of the fixed aperture can be an issue if you select the wrong speed film for the light and weather conditions. My picks for a robust and totally usable waterproof camera would be from the Olympus TG range, Ricoh WG range of cameras .. or the Canon sureshot A-1 (my personal favourite).

    Sorry bout coming in so late after this review, looking into a pro camcorder.. Looking at your samples the image seems a bit on the greenish blue side. I assume this is straight out of the box,, auto white balance… Have you found that post adjustment is necessary with this cam? As a comparison I’ve used the Sony z90 and out of the box the image is quite good, no adjustments. Do you still recommend this camera?

    there is something I can't do with a cell phone that is easy to do with some camcorders. no one ever plays with controlls showing them how they can be adjusted in camera. then it would be a tutorial?, no. if you were just messing around a little take standard scene and mess with RGB randomly. mess with black level randomly. playing with that stuff is the fun in it for everyone who doesn't play with them for a living.

    There is no need to use the word "profesional". The word has heavily devalued. "A professional photographer having one shoot per week is using his profesional camera with a professional B&W film in it, which will be push developed by the professional laboratory. There are not professional cameras; it is all marketing. The Mamiya C2, C3, C22, C33, C220, C330 etc. have alwayas been sold with the standard waist level finder. In the Mamiya C330 will also fit 220 film and sheet film. The crank which advances the film is cocking the shutter at the same time. If multi exposure is needed, the crank only cocks the shutter. The bellow is not just for close up photography; the bellow is also needed for the focusing of the long focal Sekor lenses. At the left side of the body is the cold shoe to mount a flash and different extras. At the bottom of the C330 is a hole with a 3/8 Ww thread with in it the 1/4 Ww adapter. Probably 99% of the 1/4 > 3/8 adapters are broken. The adapter is the' Achilles heel of the tripod. The seven Mamiya Sekor C lenses comparing to 24 x 36 lenses: 55 mm > 31 mm 65 mm > 36 mm 80 mm > 45 mm 105 mm > 58 mm 135 mm > 74 mm 180 mm > 99 mm 250 mm > 136 mm Jaco van Lith, Rotterdam - The Netherlands '

    Huge and heavy for the classic TLR, but a serious piece of equipment. Studio and landscapes - great; sports - not so much. The lenses made for the early models are not so good, but when the camera caught on with pros, Mamiya overhauled the lens line and much improved their quality. What is really loaughable is that a lot of folks pay nearly as much for the Yashicamat TLR, which by comparison is a tinny piece of junk with a Coke-bottle l;ens.

    • @jacovanlith5082
      @jacovanlith5082 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mr. Redall Stewart is your opinion correct? Can you prove you are saying? Some American photographers made great photos with the Mamiya C33 in the Sixties. And so did I. For plenty of sports this camera will suit very well. Will a Hasselblad 500 C/M be a better camera? It is always a matter of skills. The Mamiya TLR 6x6 system with interchangable lenses, interchangable viewers, interchangable screens and interchangable backs for rollfilms and sheetfilm can never be intended for the happy snapshooter on a sunday afternoon in the park. There is nothing wrong with the Yashicamat 124 or the Minolta Autocord. You might publish your opinion on the LUBITEL, NOCOFLEX, MPP, FLEXARET, and SEMFLEX; inclusive 50 x 50 cm prints on graded glossy double weight bromide paper made in Germany or by Forte in Hungary. Processed in four trays (inclusive an acid stop bath) Enlarged by a Durst double condensor system with a six elements Rodenstock or a Schneider lens. In a dark room with white walls plus running hot and cold water. Jaco van Lth Rotterdam

      @@jacovanlith5082 That Mamiya systematically introduced improved versions of its lenses for its TLR system (and its 645 system as well) is a matter of record. It's a common practice. Pentax did the same thing a couple of times over the life of their 67 medium format system. Bronica did it as well, basically replacing its enter lens lines for 6x6 and 645 systems,. renaming the new lenses to distinguish them from the old. As for the merger performance of the YashicaMat, I personally took the time to test the lenses on a half dozen 6x6 format TLRs using the Air Force test targets which were the resolution standard at the time. The Autocord proved the best by a modest margin over the Rolleicord and Zeiss TLRs. The Ricoh Diacord was an insignificantly lesser result. The YashicaMat 124G was a distant last of the bunch. At wider apertures, it yields about half the resolution of the others, and at best aperture only about 70% thereof. So, yes, I have a significant experience to support my opinion. All of these cameras mounts 4 element Tessar, or Tessar copy lenses. The Lubitel uses (I think?) a three element lens, less corrected and giving clearly inferior results. The Flexaret has a very good reputation, but I have no personal knowledge of it or the other cameras you mentioned. Your comment misses my point, which (to repeat, was not that the Yashica Mat TLRS (basically all the same after 1960) is a terrible camera and useless, but that its used prices over the last few years are ridiculous when compared to many other cameras which cost the same or much less, yield a much better optical result, and are more solidly designed and built..

    @bobuk5722 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    In most cases it is not possible to choose a camera based on one attribute. You have to consider how each of them relates to the spread of your usage cases. If great low light UHD performance is your single requirement - there are likely to be others though - then although the XF605 is better than the 705 in this regard then a so called 1 inch sensor (really approx. 16 mm - 5/8 inch - diagonal ) is probably not for you. If you want great auto focus and manual assist, high quality 'L' series glass, decent zoom range, good ergonomics, down sampled HD etc etc then maybe it is the one you want. It's a case of horses for courses.

    To be completely honest with you, while I had the flagship XF305 HD camera, I upgraded to Panasonic DVX200 4K camera. Then, when I compared the DVX200 with the new Canon XF705 and 605, I was disappointed because the Canon XF705 and 605, at the exact same ISO settings, was literally twice as dark as the Panasonic. I’m not sure why…

      did you keep the XF605? I too want to replace my XF305...was the XF605 better in dim light than the XF305? The canon XF605 is quite expensive...but what other options with 1" sensors are out there? a true camcorder I mean...Thanks

    • @asafblasbergvideographer
      @asafblasbergvideographer ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFandangovideoguy I did not keep the XF605. I purchased the Panasonic DVX200 which was twice as bright as the Canon with identical gain settings so that is the camera I recommend to buy. Unfortunately it is discontinued so you might find some available on eBay. If you must buy a new camcorder, I would still choose the XF605 because of its 15x zoom lens.

      @@asafblasbergvideographer hmmm...I was hoping to get good news! I own the XF300 and also a XF100 and with stage lighting (I live events-dances etc), they are ok...HD only but very few clients need 4k...however when the lighting is dimmer (like in a Wedding reception or a dark church) they don't perform that well...I own a C100 mk2 with a Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 and I have used it for some parts of events but it's not a true run and gun camera, however the results are great. And finally I own a Canon 90d 7 Sony a6400 with good lenses and they are better in low ligh but, sometimes a camcorder is the right tool for the job. The XF300 has an 18x zoom and that has been very helpful. I almost bought a Canon XF400 but it's not a real XF camera-lacking external controls I need. I get paid to do jobs! I can't afford the XF705 and its too big anyways. I need it to be more portable so that I can put it on a monopod if neeed. Not just on a tripod. So I guess you didn't like the XF605-I wish I could rent one at VISTEK Toronto but they only have the XF705. I have seen some samples on youtube (some really bad ones shot by bad videographers and other videos looking really good-I guess C-Log and heave colour grading)-I even joined a XF705 facebook group where most owners are really enthusiastic about the camera-someone even told me that the XF605 could be pushed to 15db gain and that would be as clean as the XF300 at 0db...that would be great! But your experience was not as good it seems. I think my issue is the price! Honestly...$6,299 cdn plus tax (and Canon Japan has announced that there will be a 10% hike!)...almost the price of a C70 which again is not a camcorder but a great cinema camera...hell...for that price I could get two Sony FX30 maybe! BUT a good camcorder can be the right tool for some jobs. Anyway.'I'm talking too much...the DVX2000 is a 13Xzoom...do you do live events? I'd love to see a video shot with the DVX2000 by a fellow videographer. I know youtube is not the best quality but still...I dunno..if the XF605 was cheaper I may go for it right away! Thanks for your response- Oh..I think I see a DVX2000 used for sale for $3,000 cdn Here is a sample of the live events I do... th-cam.com/video/gHLpcgd54Y8/w-d-xo.html

    hey, Bobby, at 4:40 this is NOT only what the knob is for, like a Rollieflex the bottom lens takes the picture, but !! as there is NO magasine as in Mamiya RZ/RB 67/645\F; or Rollei Sl2000F/SL3000F cameras, a DARKSLIDE is put on the front of the film plane, so the lens change can occur SAFETLY, ie NO exposing of a frame!!
