Working Better Together!! We are a couple that love doing projects and working and spending time together and want you to follow along as we tackle some major projects in the next couple of years. A fence for our garden, rock work in drain area, planting cherry trees, new roof for our home, logging crew to thin our acres of pines, and the progress of our lawn as we fight the heat and dry weather this coming summer, and the big one…..our off grid cabin. And we will share other events as well. Lots of work to be done.
OFF GRID CABIN BUILD "Digging Footings"
Our Off Grid Cabin build finally begins. I rented a mini X to dig the footings because I would have never dug them by hand because the ground is full of rocks and roots. We will pour the footings on our net video so we will be ready to start framing this fall. Subscribe so you don't miss any of the build. Thank You!!

STRYPER LIVE! "TO HELL with the AMPS ACOUSTIC TOUR 2024" Charlotte,NC
มุมมอง 11K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
This was my 1st Acoustic concert ever and wasn't sure how I would react bc I love screaming guitars and popping snares and just loud as possible music. I came in not very optimistic {and Stryper is my favorite band} but I have to admit....it was GREAT! The band sounded great and was really impressed with how good Michael Sweet sounded after dealing with some of his issues of late..strong, crisp...

Men dont listen to all those negetives you know i did a dry pour on my house driveway is been 15yrs and still holding having 4 cars on top of it so thats all a persons opinion... i got proof on mine that dry pour works if you do it the right way!
@@fernandoboss1740 That’s awesome!!!
Never mind these negative comments. These are folks who never done it, probably won’t and more likely jealous that you did it the right way. They may have done it wrong and their slab is all cracked up. I’m pretty sure someone will give me negative feedback on my comment. I don’t care. You don’t owe anyone any justification or explanation and for those like me who like to see good people do good work, I’m applauding you guys for a job well done. This is for you and your family no one else. Keep doing what you’re doing ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
@@annealston4858 Thank you so much!!!! That was very kind of you to take the time for such a nice comment. We know how some people can be but it’s ok. Thanks again!! BTW……it still looks great 👍🏻
Wet concrete is not going anywhere, and there is a place for dry concrete projects. Your slab looks very nice. I am still thinking about doing dry pour pavers. There are always going to be haters when you go against what the world deems normal. Remember, people even hated Jesus because he did not follow the world. Do not worry about haters. They are just invisible noise. Do what makes you happy.
Hey it all comes down to money guys that do concrete they want way to much money.
@@user-wu4hi7mz6i It is crazy how much it cost to get something done.
Lowkey looks good
I did dry pour at my house for a small porch and walkways 25 years ago- still there. People saying wet pour is better are only partially correct. Small projects are perfectly fine for DYI. Detractors could at least be honest in their objection by recognizing why dry pour is used. Building sites may be far from concrete contractors making it expensive or even impossible for wet pour. Doing wet pour with any quality requires skill physical strength, and tools that a DIYer may not have or want to learn. Contracting wet pour is more expensive - dry pour may be what is affordable for the task.
@@LouieLouie505 Wow! That’s a real life example of longevity for this method. Dry pour has its purpose. Plus….the cost of getting someone to finish concrete is just insane these days if you can even get them there. I had $400 in this 👍🏻
Did you use 2x4 or 2x6 to frame it out and how many bags did you use and what was the price on each bags ??????
I used a 2x6 and dug down into the existing gravel and had 3 1/2” of concrete. We used 119 50lb bags and with the quantity discount it was around $3.36 a bag which was around $400 total of concrete.
Wow that’s a lot cheaper than in the uk and the bags are double the size too.
@@adelejones5059 Cheers to the UK!!! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
There’s going to be so many Gypsy’s doing this lol
Dry pour concrete is for flatearthers.
Is it flat???
You could have done 4 that size in half the time with a pour
@@tonyviers-de9qi Not about time….its money. Hired labor is expensive plus it was fun!!
@@workingbettertogether4882 I’m just saying, call a concrete company to haul in the concrete . You can finish it yourself so much faster and cost would likely be less than the 200+ bags
Amazing as always!!!
I'm glad to hear so many enjoyed the acoustic set. I'll wait until they come back plugged in ;-)
Shame you guys ain't touring the UK.
For a small area like that with nothing heavy driving on it should be fine i don't know if it gets really cold there that might effect it a little but you probably should put a saw cut across the middle.
@@seancasey2444 I’ve thought about doing that. Would help control if it cracks. The ground does freeze here in the winter so that will be a good test. But…..it is also covered so the ground under the slab won’t get as wet which may help also.
Based on actual material testing in a laboratory for years, the dry pour method will produce a much weaker concrete pad than wet mixed. If it works for what you intended, then great. However, I would strongly suggest for anything you do yourself, do the best methods you can do, and don't cut corners. Doing it once in the best method is better than doing it twice. For what you are doing, it will likely hold.
@@thereasoner9454 I agree it is weaker but for this purpose it is plenty strong and it’s not going anywhere. If it cracks no big deal. Wet pour is going to crack also. But it was fun doing this. I could have got a concrete truck but I have no experience and no tools for a good job. And this was easy and didn’t have to worry about it setting up too fast. If I was going to drive on this…..absolutely wouldn’t have used this method.
I did a dry pour slab and built a Rubbermaid shed on top of it. My neighbors concrete guy said it would do it for $1000. I saved $700 doing a dry pour. I have no doubts that I will last.
@@jimhoover7345 That’s awesome!!! Never hurts to try something new.
looks great ..
16 wks means nothing
Just like your opinion
You’re exactly right. Check in after winter and I promise you it will look the same.
How many bags total for a 12x14?
We bought (128) 50 pounds bags. We had maybe 8 bags left over
Where is Oz
Where's Oz ?
So many people have so much time on their hands that they watch videos all day that they have no interest in just to complain about it in the comments.
@@dross10001 Excellent comment!
Been test saying it's as strong as the bag says it is, concrete companies are trying to go to a 2500psi mix on residential slabs so i don't see any problems with the dry pour over ready mix, especially when you get lazy finishers dumping 20-30 gallons of added water in the truck to make their job easier, nicely done
Looks good! I used dry pour over 25 years ago for the fence posts, walkway and porch on my house. Still there. My house was far from commercial concrete so there were expensive surcharges. Dry pour was easy for me to do by myself. This technique has a place for DIY. People here saying it’s easy to learn how to finish wet concrete-- well, ain’t easy if you ain’t interested in learning skills that won’t be looking good on the first and only time. My time and energy go to learning other skills Imwill use more often. I haven’t seen anyone advocating to use dry pour method to create residential or commercial building foundations - but a shed or walkway? Absolutely.
@@LouieLouie505 Totally agree. There is a place for this method.
wow these people are soo blind its crazy ! im not judging but im fairly sure they all goin to hell...
Thanks for posting, was going to see them in Atlanta though the date didn't work. I appreciate you!
Aaaaaaawwwwwww so precious and adorable 🥰 Bless you for helping this sweet innocent baby 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
lmao why ppl are so enigmatic? What issues Michael Sweethad and why was Oz missing?
All of the negative comments are contractors and concrete truck drivers that are going to be put out of business.
I did a 12*20 at my uncle's farm about 5 years ago using dry pour. He parks his boat trailer on it, It's still going strong.
That’s awesome!!!!
Love these guys what opened up my eyes to the Lord I'm back in the 80s I had to buy all their tapes twice cuz I kept wearing them out definitely blessed by God is the drummer myself Robert is my favorite the drummer
Everybody is always talking about Michael's voice, but he is an amazing guitarist as well.
Thank you so much🙏
Truth !
Favorite band❤😫
I would have let the primer fully cure first, then coat the barrel with fire-resistant paint next, and let that cure for whatever the product says it takes before starting the next barrel burn. That smoke or vapor coming off the barrel was likely the newly coated paint volatilizing.
Okay I got to be honest that version of honestly sucked ass!
Thanks a ton for sharing this @Working Better Together two thumbs up!

what a wonderfull band!!
This not an acoustic tour. They're playing an electric guitar, an electric bass, an electric keyboard, a drum set with microphones played through electric amplifiers and a PA system.
Really, dude? Let's not split hairs here. It's a totally different beast to put on a show like this than a full "electric" show. There is no hiding anything behind a wall of distortion or effects out there like this. You survive on your talent alone. And they pulled it off like champs.
@@mattscott8922 I'm not splitting hairs and there is nothing acoustic about this show. In an acoustic show the musicians play acoustic guitars and an acoustic bass, and don't use a miked up drum kit or an electric keyboard.
If the guitars are not hooked up to a sound system how could you hear them. Go pick on a guitar and see how much sound you make. This was not a huge music hall but it wasn’t small and it was packed. I know it says to hell with the amps tour but we all know what that means. I’ve been to many regular Stryper shows and there are amps and speakers stacked everywhere and it’s deafening. This was definitely a hard show to pull off bc you can hear every miss unlike the regular shows where the sounds will hide a lot of that. I thought they did an amazing job.
I just watched a few clips of Nirvana unplugged and all the acoustic guitars are plugged in…..just so you can hear
@@Shadowman-1960 you're absolutly idiot...
