Great video
You 2 take too long to get moving
Like the video but got little confused with different parts. I may be wrong but in your description at the beginning I think you made wrong count of different cuts/ parts that you need .
The best video I've seen on this hands down. Great job and thank you!
How long did it take you from start to finish?
I had all the tools and material on hand. To prep, drill holes, and install rebar, maybe 15 - 20 minutes. Then we mixed the concrete. My little one was helping so it took a little longer, but that usually only takes me a few minutes to mix a couple bags. Then you have to wait for the concrete to cure which will depend on how "wet" the concrete is. All in with the concrete in place, about 30 - 45 minutes, then you have to wait to let you concrete setup which could take up to an hour. You can also get fast setting concrete if you wanted to speed it up.
Great simple idea I think if you match the top and bottom it would be aesthetically better
Absolutely best video on here!! Thank you!!!!
Best most concise well explained tutorial ever on the chair I have seen. And I am happy to know that I can do it with circular saw or jigsaw as I don't have mitre saw. Thank you sir
Nice job. Great help for me doing the same in my master bedroom. One comment would be give your time frames…saying awhile doesn’t provide much reference. Granted environments are different (humid versus dry desert). But that is one thing I noticed is no time reference on how long you let things sit between steps. Thanks!
Much simplified, I wasted yesterday whole day looking for templates 😂 Brilliant and Thank you 👍🙏
You need some goggles/safety glasses
Should have hired a contractor to do this
Great table! At the 16:17 mark, you said half the width of the 2x6, or half of 5 1/2", is 2 1/4". That's not right though...it's 2 3/4". Maybe you can do a little text over the video with the corrected number?
I do not have a saw. Nor fancy tools. Is there a way to have these pre cut. Or can you do one that does not require fancy tools please😢
I built my version of your table. How can I show you
Молодец! Хорошая работа! 👍
A complete cut list would be helpful. Also drill pilot holes and you wont crack your pieces.
I know that this video is old but i enjoyed the mistakes and how to fix them im just getting into building and i loved everything 😊
These instructions are the most descriptive steps I have seen in a long time. They are broke down into detail, and idiot proof.. I don’t know what you do for a living, but if you are not a teacher, you missed your calling. Well done sir. 👍👍
Timothy, thank you for the reply. I was a teacher so your comment hits me. Thank you very much.
@@practicalfamilyprojects4357 I have worked in the public school system for many years… not as and educator, only in the facilities department. I have observed those who had a talent for education and teaching. Your students and community were lucky to have had you.
nice n simple
I love this channel, the projects don't require fancy tools
I had to come.back and let you know I followed your instructions from the video and my chairs turned out GREAT!!!! WE FREAKING LOVE THEM.
Thank you!
I love your vibe and your wife's sarcasm. If it weren't for that, it would be another building channe, so i subscribed.... Keep on Keeping on
Nice to show “Happy little accidents” as Bob Ross would say. Only big comment I have. WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES when cutting metal bar. You really, absolutely, positively don’t want a tiny metal splinter in your eye. Ask me how I know. It wasn’t the irritating constant pain and watering in the eye overnight until I could get to the eye Dr. No, it was having to sit absolutely rock still with my eye wide open while he approached my eye with a needle to lift the splinter out. He was sticking a needle in my eye and I had to hold absolutely still. Nightmares. WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES.
Thank you for sharing !!
Still better than a stick in the eye ...
Really nice. Good job
I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to really explain your process. A lot of videos and I mean a lot of videos I watched didn't take the time as you did. Great work and you definitely got yourself a new subscriber.
Really appreciate the comment. We don't post as much as we want, but we hope to get some more videos up soon.
How did you put Tile on top of the concrete if you floated it to the top? seems like you did not think this through
We actually bought this house and it had 9 different tiles throughout the different living areas and bedrooms. Since it's our lakehouse, we bought the Lifeproof flooring from Home Depot which can be installed over existing tile flooring. I just floated the concrete to the top of the tile to make it level before installing the Lifeproof flooring. If we ever decide to change it, and demo all the tile flooring in the way off future, then I will have to knock the concrete down a little.
@@practicalfamilyprojects4357 You said you were going to tile over the concrete (mentioned mortar). I’s a much different project if you were repairing a floor with the same tiles.
The only thing i would have done differently is pour it and float to slab level and not to the top of the tile. Looks good otherwise
Love the child narrator in the video
Like the simplicity and sturdiness without doing complicated joints. Only thing that would make this easier to replicate is a quick list of lumber sizes used rather than scrolling thru entire video.
Nice informative video. Did the tile sit on top well? I always worry that the concrete is filled too high and it will make the tile higher than the surrounding area. What do you do if that happens??
Be careful not to do that . This video does not show the finished job ,unless they are leaving a lump of concrete in the middle of the room. There is no termite treatment shown in this video and the dowels were not epoxied into the slab, so if your state requires this ,make sure it is done . also get a permit and inspection. This would fail in florida.
You never said what the cuts were for ie legs, seat can anybody help
Don't you dump water in the boat or on yourself if not care, due to the open end fittings tha you are using. I prefer end caps and an eye bolt. With end caps you can add a sliding weight which will alert you to a bite.
I haven't really had that issue. By putting the tee at the bottom, and looping the line around it, we usually see the jug line straight up and down when we have one on. Not always, but usually. I'll have to try out the sliding weights. I've seen those online before.
This video was great for me! Thanks for creating something simple for beginners like me.
at what point did he use the 26.5" 2x4s?
Thank you and your family for making this video, very helpful! 👍
I love “the wife!” Stephen is cool too 😜
Have you made a toddler sized chair? I think my son needs one. I may just wing it
No, my little one loves to sit in the bigger chairs. Plus she jumps in the chair with me when we're sitting by the fire at the lakehouse! Good luck, should be able to reduce the width and depth and be good to go. Also, you could reduce the arm support down to 2x4, but you would probably lose the ability to install the cup holder hole.
@@practicalfamilyprojects4357 Thanks for the reply. I looked at pictures of other chairs and took a stab at it. It came together really nice.
You are the man This is the best Video I've watched Very well Explain ed An special for the Beginner An some that don't Have Expensive tools Great job ,,,An can't wait To make my first one Thank a for your help
You're welcome!
Your wife should do the tutorials. She's better at it than you.
I'm albert thanks for the step by step I'm a beginner and I'll try my best
Hopefully it goes well!!
Great Idea specially with 2x6 fixing at the width which exposes enough space to screw length Great... Keep up the good work
Успехов! Привет из России!)
its fuckin horrible, like something you would find at the back of a barn.
Are you ok?
I liked the simplicity of this project. No fancy cuts or thickness to deal with. Great for beginners. I would suggest getting a wooden mallet. You never want to bang on wood with a steel hammer. Steve Ramsey on Woodworking for Mere Mortals has a good video for a DIY mallet.
Thanks. I'll check out that video.
Man, I really enjoy watching your video on this Adirondack chair. We just moved to North Carolina and I am in the process of trying to build some myself your plans are going to be awesome. I’m a former elementary school teacher and I love the way you explained everything and definitely having your daughter there to learn as well. Have a blessed day God bless you and your family
Thank you. I'm a former middle school teacher so trying to explain and be clear is always in the back of mind when working on projects.
6 becomes a 9 I love it great work with the chair
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing.
Great
How cute!
