Changing the spark plugs in a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek. This is a pretty expensive procedure if you take it to a mechanic mainly for the labor costs. It is not the easiest job to do due to lack of space but it can be done.

Good job man😊
The price of the table saw
They don’t make the table saw anymore. I’ve had it for over 20 years and it still runs like new.
What are the bolt’s dimensions?
Where can I buy this?
Looks to me like they could have extended that exhaust 3 inches so the pan would clear
on the Malibu bowtie they have this dimpled texture so it did not work for me i also cleaned it with alcohol let it dry pit adhesive promoter on waited a lil bit then put the wrap over it and hit it with thr head gun but will not stick in gave up aftet 2 fails lol
it's hard af to do lol
my Malibu I had a hard time getting it to stick maybe I need better adhesive promoter
People steal tailgates?
Yes. They are worth a lot of money.
Wow! No filter?
No filter
Thermostat is easy to . Impeller Water pump . Gear fluid. Nice job
Never said a thing about shift linkage
I was thinking the whole point of the strap keeping shock compressed was to avoid jacking up the truck. How much time do you think that saved?
Maybe. I didn’t have to jack the truck up at all and to be honest, even if I did cut the strap, I doubt I would’ve had to jack the truck up anyway.
How’s it holding up?
Still working perfectly
Thanks, I have a 2023 Crosstrek and saw the indents, but no idea how to use them, cheers🎉
This was super helpful and had all the info I needed. Swapping the belt out on my wife’s legacy tomorrow. Thanks for the video!
Great video, hard to find a proper manual online
Glad it was helpful!
Subariblet! You are awesome friend! I have the same motor and by no means anything close mechanically inclined. Just followed your videos and did the oil change, changed the spark plugs, and fuel filter. I’m going to start this soon. Thank you thank you for your videos. You make it look so easy that I could do it
@@jrnine31 I’m glad you found it helpful.
Hi question what prop do you run on your mercury. I run a 9.75 x 9.5 P. I do a lot of lobster fishing so I like the acceleration but only hit top speed of 24 mph, I wot between 5700-5900 rpm and
@@jrnine31 The prop I’m using is the Mercury Spitfire 4-Blade Aluminum Propeller Prop 9.3 x 11P 25-30HP 48-8M8026655
Will this work from a gravity feed water tank?
Technically yes, but if the flow rate is slow, the water may get too hot.
How much capacity in gear oil in a 30 HP obm
Not quite sure. It’s definitely less than a quart. You just pump it in until it starts coming out the top hole.
I've seen someone else remove that shift linkage cable without taking down the bracket. There's a u shaped metal clip that you gotta wiggle out of it's slot and then the linkage comes out. Not sure which is the easier method.
Will that even stick to straight chrome, longterm?
Yes. It’s still on there today
Oh man that’s easy
Looks good. I went with the Toyo 215s as well on Vox Montes and love the 15mm offset. What pressure are you running in yours? Factory pressure feels soft @ 33/32. But they max at 44 and that seems like too much.
I’ve been running at 33 and it seems to be fine
What about the message?
Brilliant video, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the video, it was really informative. The subaru jackstand really came to the rescue in helping me remove the 17mm bolts and removing a stuck rotor, i just had to get creative with the angles and using the cars body.
I just got the same exact boat last week.mine is a 2011 lows with the same motor just curious when you run your motor with the muffs on in the driveway does the water coming out of the hole when it’s peeing out get hot? Mine pees out good but seems a little on the hot side. Thanks
Once its dry how long does it last?
Its been on the truck now for 5 years and still looks brand new
Right on glad to hear that i only have a hair dryer but mine comes on Saturday cant wait to get it done @Subariblet
where is the oil filter?
There is no oil filter
@@Subariblet I found it on the DF6A.
Yes, the DF6A has an oil filter. My motor is the 2.5 and it does not have an oil filter. Suzuki didnt put them in the 2.5
What the led fog light call
I replace my alternator, battery light and negative battery sensor/terminal and I have my battery light on. I suspect the tension for the serpentine belt is too loose. Do you have any recommendations on how to test this or how to tighten the tension?
You might need to put in a new tensioner pulley. It would be fairly cheap to do so. If it’s bad, your serpentine belt will be loose.
so is there 2 belts? or just the one
The smaller belt is for the AC only. The larger serpentine belt is for everything else.
@@Subariblet okay thank you, i appreciate it a lot!
Um you know those are your high beam lights. There is a volt reducer in the fender well that steps down the power making a day time light but goes full power when you hit the high beam switch… looks cool though👍🤔
What name brand is that where did you get it from
Sunbrella Shademate, 3 bow Bimini top purchased online on Overton’s website. 6’ long, 46” height, 73-78” width. Color is jockey red.
That’s horrible
HOw about alone on a real windy day and not like your building it in your living room?
You’re absolutely right. It’s clear in the video that I was in my living room. I only set up camp in my living room. How could anyone even think of leaving the living room?
there is an oil drain plug on the left side. if you drain it only by the plug on bottom that has the oil filter, a lot of of oil will remain in the engine
Awesome thank you.
This the old skool right here no drills and no rubber Malat lol.
So there’s only 5 spark plugs i got a 2016 legacy
5? Mine is a 4 cylinder. Do you have the 6 cylinder then?
Took me 10 hours my gf got a v6 there was a spark plug on the driver side that took my 6 hours to do bc I couldn’t get to it bc the space was 2 in wide I had to wiggle and maneuver shit was wild but the the passenger side took me a hour so much easier
Man that’s crazy. I read some threads that said that the V6 were really difficult. The 4’s are enough of a problem but the 6’s practically impossible. They should make the engineer that came up with this setup the change the spark plugs in his garage by himself with regular tools before they release a car.
@@Subaribletyeh the 6 banger has 3 on each side the passenger side there was space even for the one in the back but the driver side I allmost gave up I got the fucker off and had get a skinny Rachet w a extension for the spark plug socket then had to grab it w my hand I’m re living this terror right now 😂😂😂
What exhaust do you have in this video?
Thunderbolt oval muffler by CanAmMex. I dont remember exactly which one but a local small muffler shop near me uses them. The muffler is cheap, like $50 or so and still running strong. You can find the muffler online though
Yeah I’ll definitely be on the lookout for it. It sounds good
Nice work, no gasket goes between the lower unit when reinstalling? Just curious.
No
Thanks for the demonstration
Whats the parts number for the filter?
What did you use to clean the new rotors? I'm currently in the process of 1 more threaded screw out and then the new one goes on but I don't know what to use to clean the oil of the new rotor
You can wipe them off with rubbing alcohol or an aerosol spray specifically for cleaning the brakes. I use the brake cleaner spray just because it’s easier. You can get the spray at most stores
@@Subariblet thnx mate, once I get these bloody screws out I can do that, Ive snapped that many screwdriver bits and drill bits trying to get the pricks out lol
@@al-dorifto1631 Those screws are a major pain and completely worthless. Usually I need to drill them out and if I do get them out, I never replace them. The engineer that came up with that is a moron.
All good now bro all done except I was an idiot and lost one of the wire clip things that keep the brake pads pushing back on the caliper but I need to get to work tomorrow and today is a public holiday so I'll fix that when I can, in my mind worse comes to worse the pad is gonna just rub on the rotor abit it's not like I'm not gonna be able to stop lol
Well done! Thanks! I appreciated your illumination with old shop light & incandescent bulb. Also good was not having to remove the leads to the colis! $400+ saved from dealer shop!
Thanks!
They gonna charge me 580 for everything I never changed the spark plugs in a Subaru. Only fords and Mitsubishi but imma give it a try
Is that a single cab or a crew cab
Single
@@Subariblet I have a crew cab
Looks like those sparkplugs were cross threaded last time they were replaced. I can see why...there is hardly any room to work here.
To those who said he forgot to “prime” the shocks…monotube shocks do NOT have to be primed before installation.
