Rage take the direct route (in your face) to try and get over what many artists try to do in there music especially from my era 60's 70's, that is to enlighten the masses that we are conditioned and controlled from birth to serve the so called elite. They use lies and propaganda to make us hate and fight each other for their gains and to take our minds off the real solution to peace and happiness. We are all basically the same give or take a few greedy, power mungers who need to be in control and have more MATERIAL THINGS than any one else. This situation will never change until we listen to the likes of Rage against the machine and actually work together as descent caring human beings to nurture and cherish each other. In other words a pipe dream! Peace my friend ✌

I don't know why, but I cannot stop watching your reactions, Adnan. It's so interesting to see someone discover something that I grew up with. Especially since you are from a very different cultural background. A lot of things in the movies or music feel so natural to me, that I do not think about them a lot. But your thoughts always add some new perspective to it. Your reactions and also the Trybal reactions somehow give me a strange and amazing feeling about our connected world, which I cannot really put in words. Like how we are all raised so differently, yet by the internet we are connected no matter where we live and can learn about each others thoughts, dreams and culture. I have a lot of friends and collegues from all around the world (even Pakistani), yet they grew up very "westernized" since they are younger. So watching you still adds a very different perspective. As you said in another one of your videos: It truly is a miracle how we can connect these days.

This version when they did it live ( 90s pay per view ) the emotions are just so visceral when shes singing she taps into that past heart ache and shes just eyeing Lindsay the whole time. Her sight becomes daggers and we all still feel it and he just stands there and has to take the years of the pain all over . Its beautiful and bittersweet.

I’m always curious how ppl in other countries respond to music that’s got lyrics pertaining to very specific American problems. But I think a song like this could hit for anyone bc no matter where you live there’s always something you want to fight against. Or an oppressive structure or social wrong you’re frustrated by. Even if it’s just authoritarian parents. Or a particular social ill in your own part of the world. A lot of their other songs work bc even if you’re not in the US, you’ve most likely been affected by or seen the devastating effects of American hegemony & imperlism. Like in many countries you’d be more affected than a US citizen.
