1838 feels like a fresh breeze of air for me. Gotta have to familiarize myself with the sounds first.

Both versions are increadible as a pianist im somehow bipolar sometimes i like the older version more sometimes the newer one more but there is one thing that doesnt change: i cant play both😮. But i still keep going i already can play a good bunch of parts from the new version so ina one or two years i might play ir perfectly

So 1838 by Paganini for violin? 1851 by Franz lizst influenced him to rearrange it? 2nd one is much more dramatic it has a hypnotizing addictive arrangements. Unbelievable human fingers/hands can compose and execute such a work.

The original is Grand fantasie clochette.

The original had a lot more influence from violin concerto no. 1. It seemed to pull from Paganinis first two violin concertos, and I think it’s better for it.
