I don't know what it is about this particular episode that captivates me so much. Maybe it's the story, the sound of the wind, and the dreamlike way Mohr reads the lines or all of it, but for the past few weeks I have been playing this episode every night first when I go to bed and go to sleep letting the others play on all night.

What an odd series, but quite good

This felt out of character for Sam. He's usually very protective of women, not so apathetic and cruel. Liked the episode idea, but it felt out of character.

A fabulous, quirky show.

i must have listened to this episode 6 times in the last couple of weeks. The opening line where the Santa Anna wind blows in and makes your skin itch and the whole story is like a dream I have listened to it 20 times at least if not more. And the other episodes multiple times too. Every night it's either Marlowe or Spade or diamond etc...

I doubt Dick Powell had the smallest clue how much pleasure he would bring even 60 years after he passed. His "patter" is 2nd to none. His vocal inflections have given me many snickers and his " byeeeee" is still a tag line to copy. Also, did you know the voice of Helen's butler and Sgt. Otis are one and the same?

Bit of a tear jerker ending. Also I think this is the first time Marlowe didn't flirt with a beautiful woman 😂

I love the comedy and I picture Otis as tall and pot belly almost like Olive oil but a man .this is my favorite episode
