Yeah, the depth of choice with casting talents is crazy right now, I wish fistweaving had as many options, maybe then I'd actually give it a try. Hopefully they get it right - they've still got time.

I want to do some M+ with commentary but this late in the season we're not running keys as much - I'll try though! =)

Lightning build for this fight is a bit of a cheese, not gonna lie :D

Insanely easy, maybe. I just wanted to max out my last 2 crafted pieces on my alt by doing something other than pugging +8s. I just put on some music and fly through orbs for around 2 hours and I've got a 636. For some people, 2 hours of something casual/boring is better than 2+ hours of something they hate (some people hate M+, I only hate pugging it). I wouldn't have the patience to farm a whole set of 636s this way, but I'm sure someone will. If it's not for you, that's cool, but not sure I'm following where you're going with the rest - the gear and great vault options from doing the content you're listing doesn't come close to 636, most of the world content is once-a-week, and this has nothing to do with gold/mats.

@ sorry if I came across a little aggressive. The insane bit was meant to come across a bit more playfully than it did. I’m with ya on the M+, never touching that again in its current state. Where I was coming from was the mentality of multitasking. Doing world content will get you crests, gold, rep, rare mats/collectibles, and so on. For the great vault, I wasn’t talking about the gear. I’m talking about the 6 coins you can trade for 45 runed crests. You passively get 15 gilded crests this way while also getting all the other stuff. Sure, If *all* you want is enough crests to get a maxed out crafted piece, then flying through orbs is probably the simplest stress-free way. But it’s also monotonous, and the only other benefit to it are the resonance crystals. I don’t think it’s for everyone and hopefully it doesn’t get nerfed, because I do think it is a nice little end-of-the-week activity… just not something I could focus on for over an hour, lol.

@@Scuuurbs Oh ok! My mistake. :) The runed crests from 6 vault coins a week is great, that's usually how I get my alt a little something for later without doing any real work on it. I agree grinding the orbs gets monotonous, I only did a full uninterrupted 2-hour farm once so I'd have an example to give - for the second piece I broke up the grind over a few days, just 20 min at a time for my own sanity. But if it was earlier in the season, or if my main still needed gear, then I'd be more than willing to grind out a bunch of 636s this way. :D I feel you. I just did this because I was tired of waiting for M+ groups and wanted something self-paced. Kept getting into pugs with one or two people who would die constantly, ending up in hour-long runs that would end up depleting and/or disbanding. :(

To see the gilded crests? Yep!

The hard part of crafting 636 gear is you need 60 gilded crests to buy the nascent gilded crest to turn into an enchanted gilded crest. This is a way to acquire lots of weathered crests, which can convert all the way up so long as you have acquired a 619 piece in every slot already (such as fully-upgraded champion pieces from tier 7+ delves).

Sorry, I meant for it to be a quick video so I didn't recap the basics of the crests upgrade system. You unlock the achievement/ability to convert crests up to the next rank (at a rate of 45:15) by "outgrowing their use" by reaching a certain item level in every slot: 593 to convert weathered to carved, 606 to convert carved to runed, and 619 to convert runed to gilded. Once you've managed that, large enough amounts of lower crests can eventually convert all the way up, from weathered->carved->runed->gilded, and 60 gilded is enough to buy you the Nascent Gilded Harbinger's Crest, which you can use to place an order for an Enchanted Gilded Harbinger's Crest, the reagent needed to craft a piece at 636. So, assuming you've got the prerequisites to be able to convert crests up, you can farm 1620 weathered crests with this method, convert them to 540 carved, convert those to 180 runed, then convert those to 60 gilded, which is enough for one 636 crafted piece.

You need to have acquired a 619 piece for every slot. For example, you can get Champion pieces from Delves and upgrade them to 8/8, and get 619s crafted using the enchanted crests you get for free from max renown with each faction

It's a little rough if you're starting below 619, but since crests are uncapped for the rest of S1 you can always stockpile the weathered until you reach that point! You could also run delves like Serphentin said, get yourself champion gear and skip the weathered/carved unlocks almost entirely, then once you can do carved to runed, farm weathered and convert all the way up to runed so you can craft/upgrade everything to 619 to unlock the runed->gilded conversion.

I'd say the usual spots even with 3-min -- on Ulgrax, every time it's up for venomous lash, hopefully JB refreshes early enough that you can use it during intermission, otherwise it'll definitely be up in time for the venomous lash right after. On BBH I'd say save it for when your half of the group goes down (I'd still prefer the 1-minute version for BBH). On Sikran, anytime it's up for decimate, or the decimate/shattering sweep overlap, or maybe a lot earlier if your group is like mine and blows up their images way too early/often. I don't run JB so I'm not sure how much CDR you can expect from it, hopefully it's a lot! :D

@@lunolarks9792 I edited my question, but ty for your response. I see that you are casting soothing mist a lot and Im assuming you are weaving in vivify or enveloping mist. Do you mind going through your playstyle with soothing mist? I'm really struggling with keeping a high hps which MW monks are known for this season. I love MW for M+ and I love it too for raids but I'm not playing at the level that you would expect from MW.

Sure! I took Peer into Peace so I could keep my soothing mist playstyle, and with chi harmony instead of lotus infusion, I can put more direct healing into specific targets. It's really just a balance between my old ToM/SooM build with the recommended Rising Mist talents - less focus on spreading ReM, more focus on amplifying healing on a few. :) I think using our major CDs early and often is a big factor, too. Since we can ramp into massive healing almost whenever we want (especially with PiP), holding onto CDs is usually the only thing that messes up my HPS. I also overspend and greed whenever I can which isn't 100% efficient but helps to get good numbers. :D

Without PiP if I'm spamming enveloping on a few people in a row, it's faster to hard cast. Part of the reason I don't like running Pool of Mists instead of PiP. >.<

I haven't thought about it a lot, but I'd probably go dark iron/mag'har to pair the racial with my major CDs if I didn't like void elf so much :D

Mythic works differently for some reason, I noticed that running SL raids during DF as well... on mythic I'd get full drops but on normal/heroic it was only a chance at 1, sometimes nothing at all.

I mostly played a ToM casting build before the 100% buff to the renewing mist part of RWK, and it worked well enough to parse 99-100 in raids and was perfectly fine through +10/11 keys. I never said hard casting wasn't casting, but with PoM it's not instant like in a PiP build, and I usually play PiP. I wouldn't say ToM completely irrelevant, even if RWK is able to reach higher HPS. Not everyone wants to talent into RWK and have an extra button to hit on CD, and if they can still do massive HPS without it, then that's great. 😃

That's just an extra weakaura to show me how many renewing mists I have out and when they're running out :)

Thanks! I only run as high as 10/11 for myth track in vault, but it'd definitely be fine for 12s, dunno beyond that. I'd say 200-400k overall depending on the key, depending on how much I'm trying to DPS, I'm sure someone better could do more :D

Why would you play MOH in a caster build? MOH is even more about standing in melee and fistweaving

Mainly the overwhelming force talent is melee, but you can benefit from it with rushing wind kick a little bit. From what i read the rest of the hero talents aren't fistweave-only. Or am I missing something? The reason I like to play MoH is the double thunder focus tea, the mini cd it provides in passive healing, 20% healing increase on the targets and the extra boosted lightings

@@ChelkoG Personally I don't think I get enough from MoH to make it worth it, and if we're using TFT close to on CD, the 2nd charge doesn't change much. I think if MoH had interactions with jade lightning or RWK I'd consider it (someone told me one or two of the MoH talents don't read RWK correctly, but don't quote me) but for now the ox proc absorbs and conduit as a major CD are enough for me to stick with it. :D

That just tracks what I've been casting and on who :)

I'm sure it's better in raids than M+, but in raids it accounts for at least 4% of my healing, does virtually no overhealing, and the int buff portion procs+stacks a lot. If I had a 639 gale I'd probably use it for m+ over syringe but until then, I feel better with the extra bit of smart healing :D

Glad you liked it! Not a dumb question at all; they made Ancient Teachings passive in TWW and it converts 30% of Tiger Palm, Blackout Kick, Rising Sun Kick, and Crackling Jade Lightning to healing -- it's not much on its own but it can be modified by Jadefire Teachings to be pretty strong for 15 seconds after casting Thunder Focus Tea (especially with Jade Empowerment for empowered lightning). Aside from that, Spinning Crane Kick heals only if you talent into Jadefire Stomp+Awakened Jadefire.

I've tried MoH but for caster/ranged MW it doesn't feel like it brings enough to compensate for all that I lose from celestials. :/ It can definitely work though - just my opinion!

@@lunolarks9792 Right now because I'm only doing 10's I still need the caster effects for single target boss fights and heavy aoe like 3 boss in COT. I want so much to raid heal but I'm not nearly as comfortable in that space as I m in M+. Thanks for your feedback!

@@tiagopombal2028 Just to help in the DPS a bit, or if I want to apply MT right away, since Chi Wave is a little slow! I use JFT for the lightning talents in m+ now, which also means I can heal quite a bit with RSK and others while the buff is still up, but it's mostly for downtime - nothing I couldn't do just by casting.

I haven't done that one a lot since the .0.5 changes, next time I do I'll try and upload it!

I don't think so, the adds heal and get a stacking damage bonus whenever they're within 50 yards of the boss or something, probably need season 2 amounts of DPS to kill them faster than they heal. :(

I just do it to help out when I can, especially when I've got Ancient Teachings active. I'm the same, usually occupied with keeping everybody topped off since we miss interrupts/take avoidable damage all the time - this was definitely one of our cleanest runs, so I had more opportunity to multitask. :D

I don't know what fistweaving feels like at low haste but you could do that!

The only addons I recommend (aside from standard dungeon/raid stuff like DBM) are Clique for keybinds and WeakAuras for tracking things like procs and status effects. wago.io/p/lunolarks My WAs are all part of the 2 packs at the top of this list, the first is for tracking certain MW procs and the second is just a basic UI to track CDs for spells I already have keybound - my WA setup is a little excessive but some of the basic ones like Vivacious Vivification might help! Some people use fancy addons like Grid to replace raid frames but I just use the default display since it's what I'm used to. :D

Hi! If you mean the 10% chance to spread RM with Tear of Morning, I don't think that procs enough to be reliable - just a little bonus. I usually don't have many RMs out except for during my Yu'lon ramp right after casting a few Enveloping Mists, and even then I don't Vivify spam nearly as much as other builds. I track how many RMs I have out using a weakaura (the green/yellow/red squares under my raid frames) and most of the time it's really not many. I do cast a lot of Enveloping Mist even outside of my Yu'lon ramp, so that's probably where I'm getting a lot of my extra RMs from Rapid Diffusion. The RWK/Rising Mist build is the one that maintains like 10 RMs, but I don't really play that. :D
