Are there any equipment rentals in your area, where you could rent a dump truck ?

  • @lani1life

Look up how to make soilcrete. Basically, you just till concrete into soil, and smooth out. Or if you have a hitch on your van you can rent a utility trailer or buy one and haul the rock up yourself. I suggest if you buy or rent one it would be better to get a dump trailer. Or one with a rolling mat to dump easier.

I'm just guessing here but it feels like DRY CONCRETE would be a good use...maybe. You can shape it so to push the water towards the outer edges of your driveway. Maybe add the gravel after. Just a guess 😊

I would hire someone who is looking for work that has a truck. Will be cheaper to buy rock at a gravel pit. Make sure to put rock over the pipe you had put in.(culvert) Actually the rock should have been put directly on top of the pipe. The dirt will eventually wash away.

Bugger ROCKS not pebbles.the rain will drown then pebbles.find bigger flat rocks from land. Watch a couple of Homestead videos of them getting a driveway laid down and look at the size of the Rocks the Rocks I'm talking about specifically are big white rocks. Rocks only no dirt in the bag. Or you can get a couple logs cut them in half and lay them down next to each other close together buried halfway down into the ground.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

We lived in California up in the mountains about 55 mins from Tahoe and it was so difficult to get anything delivered or a contractor up to do any work. It was difficult. But I would suggest renting a truck and dump trailer for a week and transport yourself because the bag situation will take way to long.

This is not a failure. You are resolving the issue a few feet at a time. I know $2200 is a lot of money, but when you compute the price of the bags of gravel and liner to complete the whole driveway. Is it less or more than $2200.

    • @7sigmaoff-grid

Significantly more. It’s $2200 per truck load. Will need 4-5 truck loads to cover length of driveway. Luckily we have found a solution for far less…Stay Tuned😉

It is not a failure. However, you can rent a dump truck and fill it with gravel; drive and dump as you go. This will enable you to accomplish more coverage in a shorter time. I advise, spread a bag of concrete per section, water (not saturate) the area to harden (stabilizing) the path. OR, simply let nature do the task for you-RAIN. It is a temporary fix, until you decide to pave the area at age 80.😂

Chickens are very easy to keep and produce eggs. You just have to get the right feed and the room in the chicken run to allow them to dig for bugs (without digging out under the fence). We fed our hens very cheap feed as chicks and a $20 bag lasted a few months for our four chicks. We did forget to switch to a higher quality and was wondering why they werent producing eggs when they were of age. They do not need males to produce eggs btw, only if you want more chicks get a rooster. Anyhow, we brought a higher quality feed and allowed them room to eat bugs they found, along with kitchen scraps and within a week they were producing eggs. We get about 1 egg from each of them each day, which is enough for the two of us. I'd suggest you start with 4 hens in at least a 10x12 (preferably 20 ft). You can have some on the land now if you build a sturdy enough chicken run and coop on your land and use hardwire cloth (1/4 inch and at least 19 gauge) to help keep smaller critters out if that's a concern. So it should be sturdy where coyotes and such cant break the walls, with small enough holes that mice and such cannot get though. You can either buy or make DIY feeders and waterers that can hold at least a week worth of food. They don't each much. start off with like 3-4 hens (no roosters yet until you're living there bc sometimes they're aggressive). Be sure to have a pretty large run that is enclosed at the top as well and make it so they can't dig under. Put a simple coop inside the run with sun and rain protection and it's soooo easy! We made one at our city home and are in the process of making a larger one on our Homestead. (We're like yall where we live in our house part time, van part time, and then land sometimes) and also in Cali! Love your vibes!
