Hi Robbie. Yes the current design was created for braid loops. Since then it has become popular to use rings, clips etc on the end of dongles. A revised version of the clip is planned to cater for the angler that adds these to their dongle set up. 👍🏼

The design changes are planned for 1st week of January. Once completed we’ll send you out a replacement set of wires and clip block.

It’s a knot we’ve used for years mono to mono. The braid to braid knot is the spider hitch. John demonstrates the mono knot in the video with tapered leaders.

So a rigid ‘sequin’ or disc that threads onto braid? How are you threading that on Jamie?

@spooliganfishing With an esp long gated baiting needle.

@spooliganfishing I have a system for making dongles. I already use the dings and mini dings. I also use the vmo dongle rings and seadra dongle braid. I'm fishing around Trondheim and bait is always an issue as is baiting up in minus conditions. So i make bait sausages at home using fox armour mesh. These are frozen ready for use when im fishing. I use a 12cm esp gated bait needle to pull the looped( to avoid a big knot that wont pull through the frozen sausage) dongle through the sausage then attach to the hook with a single prusik knot. I use gemini splack downs. The system works incredibly well with bkk heavy inline circle hooks. But sometimes the mini dings fall off. Hence i asked if a version without a slit coukd be made.

It’s what I use Gavin. The other lads tend to use Bullseyes. But PG PowerAero line lay is ace!!

@spooliganfishing I want to match it with a T1200 SB model..that reel is quite light, but will it match that rod?

@@gavinlangford2984 John uses T1200 with PowerAero for targeting bigger fish at range. For very big fish/baits he opts for Bullseye

@gavinlangford2984 couldn’t comment on that reel. Never used one. XSE’s, technium’s, Power Aero PG & Bullseye’s all good choices.
