Over recent years we have paid more attention to key bites windows and there is a correlation between Murray Cod activity and specific moon phases and times of day. This chat with Jakko Davis and Rhys Cre...

Thanks mate
Getting it off on a steep ramp is simple. Getting it back on is not...
Do you go to the bate and tackle shop with local doe
I love your vids and I listen to your podcast keep it up
Great clip fella’s. I wish you would have shown people what to do with the carp. Stick em and bury them straight away.
What type of lure is that good fish maye ❤
I love this boat. What is the model? Is it good for snakehead fishing?
❤Gyd
The best thing i ever did was leave southern Australia and moved to the NT. Fishing dressed like an Eskimo is shit.
Awesome 🤙🏽💪🏽
Very sad.
Do you leave the battery in there
Fords creek is a small walk from my property i feel theres a huuuuuuuuuuge fuker in there it bent a number 6 hook
Well presented and very informative thanks mate, also could you tell me what brand that red light head torch that old mate with fly gear was using, they seem hard to find but invaluable when night fishing from boat?
Great video! Question how have you been able to attach the casting deck to the top of the inflatable please?
Too loud, too fast, i couldn't fish with these blokes. My cod fishing is quiet and steady. Each to their own i suppose.
Love the way U guys respect the fish and great tips for people of all skill levels
Nice content, well produced and presented. Thanks for sharing, just subbed! :)
Unreal cod fishing and such healthy looking fish. Currently looking at moving to VIC from QLD, we fish the Severn River in Ashford for Cod get a lot of fish but only small. Looking forward to fishing down your way.
Hey mate could you pls recommend a spin reel rod setup. Just getting into fishing for Murray’s with lures and keen on your suggestions. Thank you
5-6kg fast taper rod with a 3-4000 size reel is a good start.
Cool video mate 👍 Do u mind me asking what combos u blokes run ?
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed the video. In this video we are obviously all running different brand gear. I'm running Abu Garcia reels. The Revo SX and I'm using it on the Veritas rod. It's a great setup for small water fish and entry level as well. 50lb braid (not that it's needed for these fish but we run 50lb for all our river cod), and a 40lb leader. I'll check what dan was using for you. He like to use Shimano Raiders, good cheap rod any any baitcaster reel. You don't need super expensive stuff to do this small water fishing. Hope that helps mate and let me know if you have any other questions.
Just discovered your video, a wealth of knowledge and entertaining. You guys are great, inspiring others the get out there and enjoy nature.
That was great!!! Enjoy all your inflatable boat content team.
Tech is so good
Mate from where I Australia can be purchase the top water lure ? I don't live in Australia thanks 😊
Did you get him Dan?
Makes me wish I was out there now!
Rhys needs to learn podcast etiquette. You have to wait for your guest to speak and don’t over talk on them.
Good stuff me and my boys just spent Christmas at bright and fished Myrtleford and we we landed 11 cod and dropped 6 and got 3 trout at bright truly a special place
Great job mate! Awesome to hear you got onto some nice fish on your recent trip. Such an amazing part of the world!
@@socialfishing_au you should add Buffalo River to your list!
Good one for naming the river. The locals love you even more !.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The old way of thinking by not sharing and helping others is a scarcity mindset and something we don't believe in. The Ovens River is a well known and super healthy fishery. It gets fished a lot through summer as it's such a beautiful place to fish and it will continue to get fished and the river will be in just as good a shape. People also guide on the river and there is plenty of content out there on this spot. Fishing should be for everyone to enjoy and if we can help people find a spot to fish we might be helping a young kid get into fishing and start a long time passion, create a bonding between a family, possibly help someone who is struggling with mental health, or just help keen anglers have a great day on the water. I respect your opinion though and there is nothing wrong with not wanting to share or help, but there is also nothing wrong with wanting to share and help others. Thanks for the comment, I think it's a conversation we need to have more often. Cheers Rhys
@@socialfishing_au Well said, some people think they own these spots
The locals love the visitors coming in mate. It's good for local businesses. Most of these people make a living off tourism so I think the more people that go there the better it is. Cheers.
@@socialfishing_auyou know why you have that mindset it’s because it’s not in your backyard Rhys. Why don’t you do more footage of your spots in your backyard and name it ?. Exactly you barely do it because you’re not exploiting your zones for $. I’m all for fishing footage etc but why need to name the area you are at ? You know for a fact there’s been plenty of places you have given good spots too and then you put them up here which have upset the locals. It’s nothing new to you. Just spoon feed them the gps of each log. Why do you think there’s so many dead cod around the area ?. Scoping and people need to for fill their social status with media.
@@Ozzierob Thanks for sharing your thoughts again, I appreciate the open conversation. As mentioned it's okay for everyone to have different opinions. We do and have created a lot of content in our backyard, a lot more than places we fish on the road. If you follow all our channels (emails, podcast, socials) you'll see a lot of content from Blowering, Burrinjuck, the Murrumbidgee, Tumut River etc. These are all local and I'm more than happy to help others come and fish these waterways. I've helped many people plan trips along the Murrumbidgee River. Thanks again for commenting but remember we can all have different opinions. Luckily for the young anglers out there getting into it, we are making a change and trying to help them, show them how to fish and also educate them on proper practices (looking after fish, respecting the environment etc). We will keep doing what we are doing. Cheers Rhys
Great video Rhys
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it.
Koment wery good
Hi mate. Where is around Murray bridge 5253 we can get the callop fish mate? Can you give some place for fishing. Thks
what rod is that ?
THANKS MATE //YOU ARE WELL EXPERENCED COD FISHERMAN ////HOPE YOU DONT USE FISH FINDER
On the recent super blue moon I coaght 5 in a few hours.. best I’ve done… all aver 60, upto 73m…
Too big of hook for power bait. Too much of worms for a hook.
Funny thing about the 2 minute window is I was just watching Silvesters fresh water fishing and he caught a massive cod over a meter I think at 9:30am and then his second day out he caught another one over a meter at 9:30am and he said “there must be something about 9:30am”. Just found this channel, loved the content, so much to think about and analyse. Time to go out myself tonight and start a data set. Thanks for the wisdom and ideas.
Great video fellas
Excellent information fellas
*Promo SM* 😝
Helps when you can see the fish!! 😆
Onto something boys. 4 days before the full to 1 day before epic on Barra. Never on the full or new moon. And waxing always better than waning. I've learnt not to bother at all from 3days after the full until it comes back around to 4 days before the full. if it's a rising or high barometer even better. And yes, first and last light are good especially if it coincided with the moonset . Fresh bait helps caught same day every time. You lure blokes cover way more ground, so your odds are a lot higher of catching fish. predatory fish like Barra and big cod , Mulloway definitely bite more moon below.
I loved the new moon in the fresh in the NT, fished well ay on lures
Ye mate i was talking the salt. Legune Station used to go off its head @@benjudd248
This is a fantastic insight to not only eildon but lures and techniques. I learnt a lot and I’ve been doing this for a long time.
Jacko makes thing very complicated
Boys this content is awesome
Super blue moon at the end of the month
Would love to hear more about your live setup. As I'm looking at this in the future.... Always great help and great content
Stopped watching when you mentioned live tech or more accurately cheatscope
Same.
Lol I hope you bot use bamboo rods and twine as your fishibg line You bunch of hypocrites
its just technology updating, when fish finders first came out - cheating, when sidescan and downscan first came along - cheating.
Thanks for this, full of invaluable information. All you would really need!!
