Good first game, well done! 20:35 This is indeed the best move, because it's the only way you can indirectly defend the f7 pawn without worsening your position. The only other move is Rf8, but that's just way too passive and gives up a chunk of the initiative you have. I think your Nd5 move is actually more impressive than you realize, because it only works because of some minor detail in the position. As you pointed out, Nd5 severs the connection between white's bishop and the f7 pawn, but your knight is also the only defender of your bishop. It looks like white can play Bxd5 and after you play cxd5 your bishop has lost it's only defender. It looks like white can then simply win the bishop with Rxc7 and emerge up a minor piece at the end of the line. However, because you would've recaptured the bishop with the c6 pawn, you would've opened up a line with your queen towards b6. For this reason, white is unable to win your bishop, because after Rxc7 you would fork the king and rook with Qb6+ and pick up the rook. You didn't mention seeing this, so I presume that you missed this detail. It's a nice find nonetheless, but hopefully this encourages you to get to a point where you can spot these little details that make a find like that even more satisfying. Great second game as well! 26:56 This doesn't just win the bishop, you have mate in two here by moving the rook to literally any square it can reach except for e6 or e8, pretty cool. Any other move your two bishops on the diagonals and your rook on the d-file take away all escape squares for black's king, so black can only play Be6 to block the check and then Bxe6 is mate. Shame about the time trouble in the third game. Not much wrong with that game either, obviously you outplayed your opponent and your position was overwhelming. Just gotta develop the technique to finish off winning positions like that quickly, but that'll develop with time and experience. Good stuff, great session!
you never moved your queenside pawns to attack. You should see best moves in the game analysis
All 3 games were so entertaining to watch. I was so gassed for you in the first game winning under time pressure + your opponent was low-key playing like the rent was due albeit blundering his knight early on, it was still really tricky. The Italian opening in the 2nd game was so powerful, sheesh. Opponent was definitely gobsmacked. Unlucky not to win in the 3rd game, but I'd take the draw considering you had no time and they were trying to flag

you like nailbiter, by waiting one move to make that queen. Making queen right away, would be a easier way. Couldnt threaten your rook then and you had your home square save, so he couldnt get a queen.
What a nailbiter, you could have got his queen when she was at the black field and you get check by moving the bishop. He could either mate himself by moving the rook infront or you mate like you did. You wouldnt be checked one time though.
@@georgelpons this was my favorite episode for a while and one of the first caro kanns i ever played :)
Rook and king mate is really though. King hunts to stay opposite the enemy king, the rook stays in the line between both far away of the kings and checks when he has to stand opposite the king (same number or letter of the board), or does give you a line for free. Rince and repeat, when he gets close to the rook, the rook moves to the other end of the line, he controls at the moment. My brother drilled that in my brain, when i was young.
If the knight gets that pawn at e4 (when his queen was at g5) you get either a rook fork or a triple fork, when the queen goes to g4.

The new overlay is fire bro, I was meaning to tell you in the last video but I totally lost track of time. It's good to see you posting more frequently again and climbing the ELO ladder 🧗 In the last game you're right about pushing the pawn to c5 against the London System. I watched a Eric Rosen speedrun video about it. Then developing your queen to b6 which in tandem attacks White's weak pawn on b2
Thanks bro, I'm glad you like the new overlay! Eric rosen's speed runs are so good. I think him and Naroditsky are the best teachers. I think i saw the same video

In the first game, Qd3 was such a shrewd counter-attacking move that led to you securing the win. I remember reading somewhere a simple chess tip: "every check deserves to be checked". It doesn't mean to always play a check, but you should always consider the possibilities arising from them. Which is why a solid understanding of checks, captures and threats is so important. Anyways, that just made me think about your sequence in this game which proceeded to your victory. Gg 🫡
thanks lad 🫡 i'm super proud of finding Qd3
You put so much effort bro 😊 i love ur content

10:31 Bxc4 and being exchanged up
Yo, as an old 1850 FIDE I have a few things to say. I realize I'm not the best, but I'm definitely a decent player. I have only watched the first game, but my biggest tip is this: TRADE WHEN UP. At 7:00 when he moves his knight to E4, you said "I don't wanna take his Knight, that's ludacris" Why? You're up a whole piece. Aside from the knight , his queen is out, and his other 2 rooks are stuck behind pawns. Sure, your bishop is in a nice corner and diagonal, but he's offering you his only other developed piece. TAKE IT! You still have your knight out, and your rooks will quickly come out. Same thing when you could have traded queens, you said you didn't wanna "trade down". His queen is giving you issues, and is in the center of the board. Take the damn queen, you're still up a piece. Trust yourself to trade into an endgame and win it. Following up on that tip, you got caught up in the semantics of the current issues trying to win that, rather than the point of chess: to win. You were worrying so much about the current conflict of dealing with his queen and knight and rooks in the center, and none of that would have happened if you traded the bishop for knight or the queens. You wanted to win what was currently going on, rather than moving past it and winning something less complicated later. Especially when you get into a time crunch, you gotta simplify man. You do think a lot which is *good*, because a lot of people play a 10 minute game and don't even use half of their time, but I think you're getting too caught up into some of the semantics of positions.
yeah you're right i should have simplified. i have a tendency to overcomplicate games like that. Poor awareness
@KirbChess You'll learn it and get a feel for it. I'm not sure how long you've been playing chess, but since it's a journey challenge and you're sitting just at 1,000 now, I'd assume not too long, or maybe you've only just started to take it seriously, but you've got some decent fundamentals and calculations and thought processes. Most 1000's are not worrying about the not moving a pawn because it's invites inna bishop or noticing to trade their dark square bishop because you have light square pawns. It's a blessing and a curse, because it makes you overthink the simple stuff, which was my big issue at first as well. I used to have a rule that if I could checkmate my opponent in 2 of my own moves without my opponent making a move, I'd strategy for checkmate, but if I couldn't, I would strategy to simplify.
@ i appreciate the compliment, i've been playing chess for about 6 months
bro you played really bad first game
lmfao can't win em all i guess
That's not true. You played really well until you blundered the pin and lost the bishop. That just happened to also collapse your position , but up until that you were playing great moves and basically made no mistakes I think 😊
Yo Kirby howzit? I sent u a dm on discord can you respond?
16:10 you could just take his rook and win the game bro but you let him queen
When you said you trapped your knight at 24:33, I was thinking maybe you could've played Ne5 attacking the queen. If your opponent took the bait and captured your knight with their knight or bishop, you'd win their queen with your discovery attacks from your bishop or rook. Not sure if it works, but yeah. Glad you got the win in the end bro!
you're completely right about that lol. both pieces were pinned. wow that really hurt to go back and see.
@KirbChess Don't sweat it bro, it happens to most of us, just one of those days. On another day you see everything, on some other days it's just a little harder. You'll be back in the 1000s soon enough 👊
lol… great mate at the end there. Opponent got blindsided
thanks dawg
Best chess player on planet

thanks bro!!
Nice! Dovetail mate!
Wow what a close game, you did one heck of a job bringing it all the way back from the awkward position around move 20! You played very solidly in the middle game despite being worse, it is pretty impressive that you clawed your way back and jumped in when the opponent gave you an opportunity. Out of curiosity what made you decide against Rc1 on move 51? You hovered the move and took it back last second, it was definitely winning.
I was just low on time and tweaking out I should have just played it
KirbChess I recommend you to play 15+10. So you will never lose on time! I personally play 15+10 too at my 2000 levels. Most of the people are so good with their time usage and ended up flagging me so I changed to 15+10. and most of my games has been winning flawlessly ( occasionally there is some cheaters but I do get my elo back ). Try out 15 + 10 . you played really solid! Just low time
thanks bro! i used to play a lot of 15|10 i've been trying to challenge myself to improve my time control skills. But you're completely right. every time i go on an elo "downswing" i go back to 15|10

The double pin was satisfying to watch
it was such a satisfying pin, i've never got anything quite that nasty before
I'll review this game and the mistakes you made the first mistake was when you did not punish his mistake b5 you did take but when queen takes a better move was just playing c4 then bishop b4 bishop d2 bishop x d2 knight x d2 queen d6 then you castle then your opponent castles and then you take the knight with your bishop then the queen takes your bishop and then you take the pawn and your simply two pawns up but i understand that a 1000 rated would not see any of this however queen e6 is a terrible move for him and your now still completely winning castling was the right move there however knight g5 was not bad either a6 is a terrible move too since you can take the pawn on e5 with your knight utilizing the pin and attacking the knight twice also the queen cant take cause of rook e1 rook e1 right away was really good but not the best bishop b5 is a mistake since you can take the pawn with your rook which you did and he resigns after the trade cause he was completely lost ill talk about the next game to edit this once you are done
sorry for the late response, thanks for the analysis man i'll need to really break this down in the game review
