The inaccurate part is that Cain's Imposter Syndrome is actually fully internalised, he doesn't gripe with it like he does here, he just does the most badass shit ever and blames it on luck or self-preservation instincts disregarding how much of a unit you need to be to pull it off. And when someone starts gushing about him? "Damn. Thank the Emperor they are too stupid to see through my bluff! Otherwise I would have had a chainsword ripping on my neck a long time ago!" meanwhile he's dueling a Chaos Marine and two Poxwalkers simultaneously. My man doesn't just think he's undeserving of the praise, he absolutely buys on the idea that he's just barely scrapping by instead of thriving and that it could all crumble down in a second. Then again that's probably what has kept him around for so long.

I'm a lover of the Night Lords, and the reason we love them is precisely because they're scum. Just when you think Warhammer 40k can't get any worse, these guys are there to remind you that it can. And then I discovered Trench Crusade which I'm sure the lore was written by Conrad Kurtz himself...
