Let’s Spray Some Pro Acryl Prime White!!!!

I’ve had some people contact me and ask me about chalkiness with the Pro Acryl Prime White. I figured I’d just spray it on a video so people could see my results with it. Thanks for stopping by. And remember “Tell ‘em Big Aaron sent ‘ya.”

The "chalky" look people talk about with white paints and primers is because for acrylic, white has larger pigment particles that don't dilute or suspend over medium the same way as other colors. It requires more attention to prevent it. It isn't because of poor quality or brand-specific problems.
Can I use these paints for dry brushing? Or wet brushing?
They can be used for both with no issues.

Ah damn, wish I'd caught this live. Thanks for showcasing!

Man I can't wait to get my hands on these!
You should check out the new premium add-on that just got added.@@mikea8129
Stay strong brother. Just found the vids.
Still moving forward my friend.
Where are they made?
The hair is from Siberia and the brushes are manufactured in Germany.
Great video thanks for sharing.
You're welcome. Thank you for watching.
Have you used the Artis Opis brushes, and if so how do the Foxbite compare to them
I have used Artis Opis brushes. The Artis Opis brush heads are a little too narrow for me. They are great quality brushes and very well made. The Foxbite brush size is probably the middle ground between a Raphael 8404 and an Artis Opis brush as far belly size and sharpness. It’s a very good balance in my opinion.
@@TheFrayedBrush Cool Thanks
The music is too loud !
I like the full length unedited videos.
I think your kind of bias.
So a year and a half later, have you tried priming your miniature purely with Pro Acryl Prime White and can tell us if it is any chalky?
Did you have any problems at all with chalkiness or clogging with the white primer?
I personally have had no issues with any of the colors. I am able to spray these directly through. For some other primes I've used before, I use a mixture of 10% airbrush thinner, 10% airbrush thinner, and 80% water. I'll give this mixture a shot with this primer to see if there are any adverse affects.
I was shocked how easy these primers are to work with. My first time using it, I primed for nearly 2 straight hours, using an H&S Infinity with a 0.4 needle, without stopping to clean the airbrush. Never had a hint of a clog, or ring in the cup, just swished around in the cup with a paint brush every time I refilled it. It took almost no time to clean the airbrush when I was done. For the white zenithal, thin it a little, and juice up the pressure a bit, it will help with the speckling.
Make sure your printing in a warm environment
Change your resin tank maybe or clean it
It ended up being an incorrect LCD for the printer. I've upgraded to 2 x Saturn 2s now though. No issues.
It happens to me too
Great video content wise... not sure if it's just me but your transition music level is quite high compared to your speech levels like shockingly loud
Tried the black and dark grey and they are amazing. The white was coming out a little chalky. It didn't ruin my minis but i won't use it again. I think i would just rather spray their titanium white as zenithol instead of using the chalky white primer. But that's just me.
I have found that I like using a white ink for my zenithal. I don’t think I’ve ever used a white paint outside of primer. I’ll have to give that a shot.
@@TheFrayedBrush So far the best off white primer i've used came from a can. It's Citadel Wraith Bone, but its too expensive.
@@user-bm3ts2ql6s can you ellaborate on the White Primer being chalky? I'm currently about to paint a 500-point Eldar army and I want to prime them today. I have an airbrush with Pro Acryl White Primer and Citadel Wraithbone spray can. Is the Wraithbone spray can really that superior?
Really wanted to watch this but the shaky camera was too much to endure. You may want to consider mounting it independently of the table for stability.
Thanks for your input. My equipment has changed quite a bit since a year ago. I’m not sure how long ago, but I installed a boom arm to the wall for the camera. It works great.
Addintional indexes suggestion: 7:22 Blues 7:58 Yellows for ochres and gold 9:11 Purples 9:56 Yellows oranges 10:45 skins & leathers How has your experience in painting with the expansion gone? On my end I feel like I have yet to tame this beast. The transparent colors haven't found their place in my painting habits (obviously not for base, but even in mixes). In fact, I haven't felt as successful with any of the paints for basecoats vs the original base set (which is still for me a marvellous experience that has pushed me into this world of mixing further than I had so far). Hope you're doing well.
That is a great suggestion. Thank you very much.
To be honest, they are still on my painting table. However, I find myself reaching for the Monument Pro Acryl more and more. I’m really loving the Pro Acryl.
Great video brother! It is very informative!
Thanks man.
what is that sponge
It’s a latex free makeup sponge I cut in to little pieces.

Hi there! How have you all been?
@@TheFrayedBrush Busy. Tired. Achy and breaky.🤣🤣🤣🤣 What about you guys? We're getting set to go to ACME model show in the Atlanta area in about three weeks.
@@ErnieHatmaker I’ve just been working, printing, and painting. The wife has been tending her garden and taking care of me, which is a full time job in itself. Sounds like the show in Atlanta is gonna be fun.
sup dawg, i love creative geek also.
He’s got some great sculpts for sure.
I recommend Nfep its way stronger last much longer.
Ok thanks. I’ll look into them.
I'm not sure why but there are about 3 spots in the video that freeze but the audio still plays. There are no "must see" parts within the frozen video portions.
feps are a disaster aren't they there nerve racking when putting wholes threw first plates the tanks that tighten it ye don't know weather to stop tightening screws or keep going but i done 2 on elegoo mars pro in past year but that's not to bad for time i learned to print wit it so good video for the guys who use same printer as yourself ,👍Keith
They can be a little tedious the first couple of times.
Good video on fep change....have to do this to mine too.
Thanks for watching.
Very nice Aaron! You going to the Sproo doo show in Jacksonville?

add music during the timelapse.. and/or voice over. but dude good stuff as always. and I like the new artis opus drybrush matt/pallete thing its huuge
Not sure what happened to the music and voiceover in the Timelapse part. That’s why I mentioned it in the description. I’m gonna make sure it doesn’t happen again. That mat has been amazing. I’m glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching as always.
I Fell asleep durin your slow speaking treebeard ent....
Hope you had a nice rest.
Are those minis resin?
Those are not. I just grabbed some of my Reaper minis for the video.
@@TheFrayedBrush thanks for the reply. Some folks have said that this primer peels, do you believe that is because they hadn’t cleaned their minis as you had? I’m asking because I’m looking into buying these primers, so I’m doing the research.
These are some great primers. One thing I have found is they can be a little “weak” until you get some paint on. I have had it rub off if I handle the model too much before laying paint down.
@@TheFrayedBrush that might be due to just how thin of a layer you are getting with the airbrush. These do seem to have fantastic coverage which means you can do fewer/thinner coats.
@@SpoonyBard88 valid point. I could probably go a little thicker and still have a thin layer.
Awesome congrats Aaron!!
Thank you very much.
Nice bro👍 goblin trolls face is looking awsome in paint color on it

Hello
Hello.
I have the 200mm stl for this model. Did you start with that same file and if so, how much did you reduce it for this print?
I believe it was the same file. I printed it at 75% I think. I’ll have to double check the lychee scene when I get back home.
@@TheFrayedBrush Thanks! I tried a 50% reductions but about half the pieces failed. I'm trying to decide if I want to rerun the whole thing at a larger size or just manually support. 200mm is a bit much.
@@JerrodHansen I do know I manually supported and it was pretty straightforward. Not a lot outside of island searches and auto island supports.
I upscaled this. I want the entire 4 brothers upscaled to 200%. Lol! Base I did in FDM though. Cleaning the supports and making it look good will take some man handling.
After getting a dud bottle of stinylrez I ordered these and am hoping they're more reliable.
I have switched to using more oils than acrylics for my painting. These primers are still amazing. I hope you have better luck with these.
He's looking cool Aaron!
Thank you Shawn.
I didn't make the live stream but the dragon is looking great Aaron!
