The announcer who introduced Johnny on The Big D Jamboree at the start of this recording was Johnny Hicks of KRLD radio in Dallas and was the Big D announcer every week. I knew him casually in 1987-89 when I worked at country KTOM radio in Salinas Monterey CA. Johnny Hicks did a weekly classic country music show on that station when I met him.
