I live in FL with 22 million people that are rude and can’t drive to save their lives. I hate the heat. Today is 100 degrees. As soon as you walk out side you sweat. I want to move to Maine. My friend moved there 3 years ago and loves it. I’m a home body but also a people person. I want to enjoy nature and try new things. Yes I know it gets cold there but I will suck it up for the beauty of the state.

Me and my family vacationed in the NE back in the summer of 2022. We started in Maine and loved it,and we finished in Central NY. We have been playing with moving there since then.

I grew up a mile down the street from nubble lighthouse there. I used to run groceries up to the lighthouse and run them over on the cable car basket. Long sands and short sands beaches were my front yard. Best years of my life.

I live near and visit Portsmouth quite often. Home prices are outrageous and it takes offers well above asking price against anxious competing buyers to participate in that market. Remember, folks, Real Estate agents are not your friends, they actively conspire to drive up the prices. They work for themselves, not for you. I'd suggest, look somewhere else,

WAIT ONE SECOND ! We live in Downeast Maine. Portland and south is assigned as "Massachusetts" to Maine residents north of Brunswick. Up here there are no right hair, the shiny German/Swedish vehicles, the Boston driving culture, the voting, the urban mentality. Besides, Portland is at least 3 hours from us, then Boston another barely 1 hour. Hey we love it here. One dresses for the weather, not for cocktail hour, or a James Beard venue. "Kittery"...give us a break, it's closer to Boston than Rockland. How about taking some time to explore the Maine you obviously do not understand. Sail, hike, drive, use the DeLorme Gazeteer and get out. It is MUST ( as you capitalize ). 😵‍💫😵‍💫 JMNSHO

Somebody who lives in Florida knows all about tourist destinations and you’re absolutely right only people here that are entitled are these tourists that think the locals need to cater to every thing they do absolutely sickening rude pieces of garbage that need to stay home not all of them just the majority of them believe that there’s so much superior than all the locals.

I live in the Desert SW...I have never shoveled snow in my life! I often skip Winter entirely and go from Fall to Spring in just a few weeks, and then a long hot dry Summer! We have what is called the "Manana Effect", wherein there is no reason to get anything done until tomorrow! LOL

Maine is the most God forsaken place in the USA. Gardiner PD illegal installed surveillance equipment in my house, surveillance equipment around the perimeter and aimed SEVEN directional speakers and four microwave weapons at me in my house. Gardiner PD broadcasts in protection rackets via directional speakers, voice over power line communications where ac motors are used as speakers via the smart meter, live-streaming, satellite communications into my vehicle. Directional speakers are like like loud speakers but produce a narrow beam of collaomated sound (mechanical energy) that as it propagates through air decays to audible. Directional speakers are used throughout Maine. They put the output of an illegal tracking device on my vehicle and my cellphone signal into the public domain so criminals can stalk me. They broadcast in nearly 24/7 terrorist threats, haranguing demands for wealth, defamation of crimes that never occurred, insults, and yammering. The broadcasts go until 6am, 7am, 8am. It’s LOUD in my house and sounds like people are having meetings in my kitchen. They cause my dog to bark. They attack my dog and me with microwave weapons that feel like you are being cooked to stabbed. There is NO quality of life in Maine. Yesterday, I was at Shaw’s Augusta and a corrupt cop broadcast on the PA system “Police Harassment”. I have been harassed by police across the Country from Oceanside, CA, Montezuma County, Colorado, across Europe, and now Maine since 2012 for getting a better price on a house by $235,000. My son-in-law was Long Beach PD 2015-2022 when he left for DHS and a firefighter/EMT for King’s County, WA and yet everywhere I go I am harassed by City Employees. I was a defense contractor for 25 years. I came to Maine in 10/2021 and Maine was normal. As soon as I sold real estate and moved to Maine I have been accosted ever since. These random criminals broadcast in demanding $1,000,000. They are clearly running protection rackets in Gardiner. It is unsafe to reside in or visit Maine. I strongly recommend to the Department of Defense that they relocate all defense manufacturing out of Maine ASAP. There is NO quality of life in Maine. Any criminal can watch you in your house and broadcast into your house on behalf of corrupt police protection rackets. They broadcast in “I AM TAKING”. I have nothing good to say about the people of Maine.

Maine sounds amazing to move to. I’m a Texan and I want to move away from hot summers. I love fresh seafood. I’m a Republican but will not argue politics. I will vote Republican. I just want a peaceful place to live and yes I love and like cold weather.

Okay so you should make a video about moving to Southern Maine and moving to northern Maine because they are two completely different places almost like two separate states its different economy it's different all the way around there are two completely different places in northern Maine is a better place in Southern Maine pretty much if you're a Democrat move to Southern Maine if you're a republican move to northern Maine because a Democrat moving to northern Maine was absolutely hate it same goes for a republican moving to Southern Maine

I lived on Wild Rose Lane back in the late 1980s ... it was not far off of Witch Trot Road .... a great historic area. I could see the Northern Lights from there. (When I lived in Cape Neddick, right on the cliff, in 1987, it was the first time I saw the millions of visible stars in a night time sky away from "city lights". I grew up in a town about 50 miles north of Pgh PA, and about 20 miles east of Youngstown, OH. We had a LOT of ambient lighting at night.)

Although "some" of these comments are definitely true, there are many that were not even mentioned. While many folks do earn a portion of their living from tourism, there is another side to that as well. Many tourists are eager to be here, and treat others well, respect our lifestyle and the beauty that Maine offers. However, the other side of that are the folks that arrive here and feel "entitled" and truthfully and sadly, I don't know anyone that hasn't felt that. Another mention that was missed here is the cost of living here vs income. While you may live in Southern Maine and life is different, that is a very small section of the Maine lhat many know. Making a living in some parts of Maine is very difficult, and lifestyles can be very different and very difficult.You mention that the crime rate isn't all that high, have you noticed the difference in the last 10 years? The Maine that we are seeing now is a HUGE difference, with increased drug traffic, crime rates are higher than they ever have been, increased property taxes forcing some out of their home, increased welfare coming in from other states. That is a small but very important difference in Maine in the last 10 years. Maine is an incredibly beautiful state, but it certainly is not for folks that aren't truly motivated to work and to work hard.

This is sad to see. I'm near Seattle and it's no surprise what corruption in state and local government has done to the entire west coast. Homelessness is enabled by crooked politicians who funnel money through "homeless programs" to God knows where, but it certainly isn't getting these people off the streets and into a better life. What's sad is that not even Maine is immune to this kind of corruption. If the people of this country would stop fighting each other over the latest headline, and join together to start holding politicians accountable, we'd see some positive change. Not likely though, people are too distracted.
