I would never be toxic to a new editor or someone trying to get better, because I remember being in their shoes and dealing with ppl being toxic. i started off using inshot, then moved to capcut, then alight motion, and AE since 2022... and I absolutely agree that the platform dosent make the edit good its the editor... I always give ppl tips if they ask... honestly toxicity in the editing comm stems from greed towards editors that get more attention than them i unfortunately see this in myself sometimes. Mainly bc I spend countless hours on 1 edit then I open tiktok to see a capcut preset edit that gets 2M views. I use to be angry at the editors for their views but now I see it's not their fault, it's really the algorithm that's frustrating

I’ve been editing for 6 years. It isn’t that serious unless you’re insecure about it and take it more than it needs to be. EDITING DOES ALL THE SAME THINGS WHYRE PEOPLE SO HARSH ABOUT IT LITERALLY WE ALL TRY TO MAKE A PHOTO/VIDEO MOVE IN THE SAME WAY, JUST HARDER AND MORE PRETTY. Like it’s so annoying. *Editing is never that serious.*

I'd go far as to saying it's more than just PC and Mobile Software's, it's AE, there are multiple editing platforms on PC, Premiere Pro, SVP, DaVinci Resolve, etc etc.. and despite being in the community for awhile now, I can say unless you are not exceptionally good on these other softwares, people will hate on you for editing on those software's.
