Perfect Vcarve Inlays REVISED
มุมมอง 22Kปีที่แล้ว
This is a sequel to our video Perfect Vcarve Inlays. After a few years, the only problem viewers were having was cutting the male clearing path in one pass. I figured out how to get around this and the video shows how. Cheat Sheet link sdppminc-my.sharepoint.com/:b:/g/personal/howard_sdppm_com/EdNcv2wns6JMo57ToZUVyIUB4LHwQ_IAGmkd646PkCKihA?e=3lEY5b

Can you practice before making a video? I kept pausing, and it did not work the way you kept changing your directions.
You are a Great teacher!!!
Very well done!
Very interesting, so it is possibile with any Chinese CNC router right? Also install a fiber laser I imagine?
Not sure about fiber laser but you should be able to setup any cnc as long as you can figure out the post processor
@@thewoodmaster hi, I have seen that endurance robot channel has the adaptor for pwm segnal, not sure about the gcode processor, actually I run it on CNC via artcam, and I must cancel the first 8lines and last 4lines of gcode for make it work..! I have tried with aspire 4.0 but with multiple passes it goes crazy movements so I came back on artcam. Nice work!
Bonjour Superbe 🤩. Merci 👏👏 un abonné supplémentaire . Je pars regarder 👀vos autres vidéos . Merci 👍💪💪 et BonneSSSS FêteSSSS 🧑🎄🍻🥂.
Merci et bienvenue
Howard Boehm, like the Boehm Gallery in the Art Department of Palomar College!?! And Dixiline Lumber clues me that you're in the North County area. Are you related to the Boehm for whom the gallery is named after?
@doug-cdsimontrustee6609 no i am not related.
Also I have 2 Mach 3’s one that came with my cnc plasma and one I got off line because I like the look of it . I switch back and forth . Can I choose either one to be a dedicated laser and other for my cnc plasma. Is that possible ?
You could do that, but you don't need to. Just set up your profile for the Laser, and when you start Mach 3, the first screen will give you the opportunity to choose the profile you want.
Dang I’m glad I found u . I’m getting mine in a few days. I would need help with ur Mach 3 settings. Thank u
those wires arent in properly
Explane?
Great video,,, I followed along and set up same way,,, bottom text I had 4hrs,,, top text I had 24hrs,,, does that sound right??? ,,,, you have a new subscriber,, thanks
That should take less than an hour or so
Is the pocket used instead of the vcarve clearance path or do you still need the vcarve clearance path after the pocket is finished?
Magnifico video con explicaciones. Gracias Howard!!
Thanks boss
beautiful piece
Love the fact that you show all the mistakes. We all make them. Nice to see raw footage and what it takes to correct them.
That's why I did it, we all do make mistakes
Why the intricate model male & female, when the finish will be flat? And the finish is fine.
I am not sure what your asking. The inlays are to showcase two contrasting woods with the artwork.
WOW!! Love it!
Nice setup!
Great video that was very informative great channel! Thank you for what you do Sir
Well done
Thank you for making this video as it gives good detail. one thing i was looking forward to the most was knowing what type of processing you used for mach3 4ths axis, as i use the Y2a wrap.txt and nothing shows correctly in mach3 like roughing only shows bits of the item and finish looks like an explosion of frag parts if any one has any idea i would be so greatfull
why not use raster cut?
Could have either way works just fine
this is d simplest text on text tht i have come across
Thats a great video for a learner like myself, thanks.
Video was very helpful. Thank you for that. I'm also using a small CNC and the start depth for the male cut stressed my little CNC a lot. The new method makes a lot of sense. I would have one question. I was reading also the guide from Zank & Durriant. The are also using the 3-2-1 method but male start depth and male flat depth are just the other way around. I.e. female flat depth is 0.3, male start depth is 0.1 (instead of 0.2) and male flat depth is 0.2 (instead of 0.1.). I was thinking that a male flat depth of 0.2. might lead to a tighter fit of the inlay. Any comments on that?
I have cut some inlays in half and the glue joints are tight.
@@thewoodmaster Thanks for the feedback. I will try your method over the weekend.
I wish you were my naber
Thank you what a great video. Certainly made getting that zero spot on. However when I tried, I created the button and loaded it upon. But when I click on button script edit my button does not flash to be selected.
22:06 Great video! How do you switch between using the spindle and laser? Is it just 2 different Mach3 profiles or to you have to switch the connections every time?
Yes you just use the profile for the laser.
Excellent, thanks for sharing.
i just looking i make 4th axis too, can build under 300$ same. simple add one stepper motor axis more to cnc. woodworker not need big expensive spindle, lot cheapen small spindle only need 4th ax.
Turned out nice Howard.
Nie design howard. Thanks for sharing your insights.
Very nice! I now have a clear path on buying and setting up a 4th axis.
22:36 Oops, round squiggles. you pressed too hard with the random orbit sander
Hi Howard. I am in the beginning stages of purchasing a 4th axis and I was wondering if you had any updates on this kit? Any issues you have had and would you purchase it again? Great job on the video!!
It wasn't a kit, I purchased all the parts and cut everything and assembled. I would do it again as it only cost around 500 to make.
Hello I have the same laser and can’t figure out which post prossesor to use I’m running a shop Sabre pro 408 with vcarve and win cnc
The 1st offset was better. Milling out the entire square on the male is a waste of time. Takes <30sec on a scroll/band to cut it out.
This is awesome Howard, very much appreciated. I am using this technique to set up my laser cross hair for my Lasertree K30 diode laser. Thanks so much
Thanks for the tip!
9:20 the shaded "tab" on the right: If you define your material to be ever so slightly wider on X, the endmill could mill there and the tab will disappear
Great video, for sure closer to getting this done for myself. . . but it is telling me that it is going to take 197 hours. LOL.
That has to be wrong, this should take at most about 30 minutes
Merci pour vos super vidéos
je t'en prie
Woow super sir
Cool
I have tried this many times, It works, but once I save the file and go back and run it, the top text never carves out. Any ideas?
Thank you , this video very helpful ❤❤❤
One basic question: What tool for which company are you using? What software are you using?
Avid Desktop Pro and Vectric Aspire or Vcarve Pro
Which 90 degree v-bit are you using? Can you provide the size and manufacturer?
Hi is there a part one of this square bowl that shows how you drew in 2d then started the modeling in the 3d tab? I have done some 3d files but not done any 3d modeling. I have the same bowl drawn up to a square and have a grid on it but how do I set the depths of cut in the 3d area. Unless I am missing the obvious? Thanks
Liked that method, quick and easy. 👍
Nice work Howard! I really enjoyed watching and I learned a lot. Thank you!
