DD hammocks travel bivi. Presentation and settings.
The double-layered DD Travel Hammock/Bivi has a built-in mosquito net and a waterproof floor. With the webbing pre-fitted and wide 60cm spreader pole/elastic included to raise the net for a spacious interior space, the Travel Hammock is a versatile system suitable for users with any level of hammock camping experience.
Great on and off the ground
The DD Travel hammock's waterproof base makes it ready to deploy on the ground as a bivi. Backpackers and long-distance hikers will appreciate this, in the event that the next campsite turns out to be tree-free!
Zip up the net for 100% bug protection, or simply unzip both sides and roll up to secure out of the way. Alternatively, suspend the hammock with the net on the bottom to lounge out in the sun! The 4 storage pouches can be used on either the interior or exterior of the hammock, all you need to do is flip them to the outside when the hammock is used with the net on the bottom!

    Awesome mod! Great job. Im gonna do the same... maybe fivure out to add a mini Bic lighter to the front with duct tape. Great job on wrapping the paracord. You could get the more expensive fire cord type paracord as an added fire starter string. Button compass. What brand Ferro Rod with that wooden handle is that? Perfect fit into pen tube. I want to get that same one if you could kindly let me know.

      This head torch is intended for trekking and overcoming longer distances, so it has a battery with a relatively large capacity, which translates into considerable weight. I wouldn't buy it for running, it's better to buy something much lighter.

    Hint, use tape the same color as the paracord. Trim top end and melt it before pulling and it will disappear inside wrap. Trim the pull cord short and put the knife blade between it and the sheath, then melt the end. Then while it is still hot, use a flathead screwdriver to tuck it inside wrap. Both ends protected and a neater finish

    • @outdoorlife9117

    Looks good you matched the paracord and sheath color! I keep a little emergency kit in a cigar tube (ferro rod, iodine tabs, etc.) Its airtight and small enough to stick onto a sheath like this.

    • @outdoorlife9117
      @outdoorlife9117 ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems to me that if you attach a cigar box to a knife sheath, the paracord may slip off. I think a better option is to put these elements in a string bag and wrap it with tape. Then you will get a more oval shape of the knife sheath and the paracord will fit tighter. However, like any modification, if you do not check it yourself, you will not be sure whether it is good or bad. Let me know if you make such a modification using a cigar box and whether it worked.

    What about wrapping the tape first, then the fire starter kit, so you dont have to undo all that tape to get to the bag. I also hear the tape, torn into thin strips, can be used as a fire starter.

    • @outdoorlife9117
      @outdoorlife9117 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion, a fire starter is used in really extreme situations. Even in very rainy weather, I am able to light a fire using flint and natural materials. Plus, I always have a lighter with me. However, the chance that I will use tape and paracord is much higher and therefore they are available in the first place.

    Espero que este comentário tenha te encontrado antes de você comprar esse produto. Eu comprei a minha menos de um ano atrás e usei poucas vezes, majoritariamente em casa com ela parada em uma mesa ou fazendo trilha. O design, terrível em minha humilde opinião, faz com que ela seja muito frágil a quaisquer tipos de choque e até mesmo balanço enquanto fazendo trilha. A que comprei apresenta diversas rachaduras e alguns pedaços do plástico já se despedaçaram e se perderam na parte de trás e eu só estou aguardando o momento que ela parará de funcionar haja visto que aquelas rachadures, não só mas também, presentes nos apoios da lanterna que fazem ela encaixar/clickar a bateria no lugar. Eu não recomendo por sua vida em risco com esse equipamento. Me custa dizer isso mas a Decathlon cometeu erros Crassos com esse design. ========== Hope this comment find you before acquiring one of this. I bought mine less than a year ago and used a few times, mostly at home with it standing still at a table or hiking. The design, terrible in my humble opinion, makes it quite fragile to any type of shock and even a bit of bouncing while hiking. The one I bought presents a variety of cracks and some of the plastic pieces torned and lost in its back and I am expecting the moment it will stop working once those are, not only but also, present in the supports it has to 'click' the battery in its place. I do not recommend risking your life with this piece of gear. It cost me a lot to say it but Decathlon made beginner mistakes with this design.
