QnA with Friends: Orhun Parmaksiz on Open Source, the Rust Community and TUI's in Rust
After a long summer break, QnA with Friends is back for episode 5!
This time around I hung out with Orhun Parmaksiz @orhundev
Orhun's a Rust aficionado who loves giving back to the open source community. We chatted about how he got started with Rust and why he *still* digs it so much.
Orhun also discussed his experiences as both a contributor and a reviewer,
offering valuable tips on how to make the reviewer's life easier (Don't ping him more than 49 times)
He shared insights into his projects git-cliff and binsider, as well as his significant contributions to the Ratatui library. Orhun told me about the challenges he faced while working on these projects and how he overcame them.
Orhun's dedication to giving back to the community is really inspiring.

Crossterm is good minimal level for raw manipulating of terminals. but Ratatui helped me to end fighting with terminal functionality and finally to start constructing UI. it's modular enough for code reusing ❤
I also use arch by the way
"accidentally started open source" - I would like to hear rest of the story man 😄

How does this only have 637 views right now? I loved listening to your discussion! Btw. have you considered listing this as a podcast somewhere where podcast apps can find it, that way I could subscribe using my podcast app and listen to it from my phone.
@@OSSMaxB Hi! Thank you pointing this out, I will be listing it on spotify, if there is another app you use I will be happy to upload it there as well :)
@@girlyops I'm using AntennaPod on Android. From what I understand it supports "Apple Podcasts", "fyyd" and "Podcast Index". Also it allows subscribing to an RSS feed directly.
Dozer (John) vs Tractor (Darpa)

That’s awesome that Irine has so many friends from Rust Community, can’t wait for the next guest 🤘
also, you should make sure there is no audio bleed coming from your guest's mic, it was hard to follow what you were asking in few points since the audio bleed would mix with your voice
you should force your guests to wear cat ear headphones too
Great idea!
