BMW E34 Manual To Electric Seat Conversion
In this video I change my seats with manual adjustment. I replace them with seats with electric adjustment and show to process from start to finish.
The new seats also come with memory function which makes the job a bit more difficult.

BMW E34 Touring Hatch Wiring Fix
มุมมอง 676ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I fix the typical issue that all bmw e34 touring cars encounter some day. Replacing the broken hatch wiring with a new harness. If you have any questions feel free to comment the video!
Hello, thank you for the video. I have an automatic E34. My reversing lights are not working. I removed the switch and cleaned it thoroughly with sandpaper and electronic circuit cleaner. My lamps still do not work. Where else should I look? What should I do to make the lamps work?
Awesome.😎
👌👌👌👌👌👌
Just ordered my kit from them. Hope i can get my glass to open so i can get that trim off
If it doesn't open, you can try two other things. Try holding the glas down while you press the button (has worked for me). Might have to try a couple of times before you see the glas releases. Or try to clean the lock ( one of my touring had rust debries inside the "button" for the glas. You could also get dissasemble the boot interior to get more access to the lock mechanism.
Hi man I am thinking of doing the same thing as you, could you tell me where did you cut the supplementary wiring loom at the junkyard? Also what did you have to disassemble to reach everything? I gotta have it planned out before i go pull the seats and didnt want to forget anything, thx so much bruv
they are already twisting in the video...
If you are planning on doing this yourself I would recommend using a standard connector 10/12 pin so that when the wiring inevitably fails in 10 years you can just wire up a 30 cm section with the female pin on both ends and plug it straight in where the break is.
Süper
I want to switch my electric seats to different electric seats in my e34. The new seats also now have memory. Can i install the new seats without the memory loom. Will the regular functions work? For me its not necessary that the memory will work. Just that the rest works fine. Thank you.
I dont think the conntector fits. But if you’re willing to cut the loom and splice the wires it is possible to get working.
@@ClassicWrenching thank you for you fast answer! I will check it before i buy the seats.
I have the same problem and couldn‘t fix it..did it work for you? I mean i am still trying to get it working but i dont know what wire i should use for the ajustement.
@@egekuzu6700 i did it a complete different way. I had reguar electric seats before. We took the whole loom from the old seat and replaced it with the loom in the memory seat. I cant use all functions but 90% of them. 👍
@@vincentweiss3134 where did you cut that loom? does it come attached to the seat or under the carpet? I will be doing that too!
Very useful video! Got an e34 touring with the hatch wiring that needs to be done. I will order the same product from Schmiedmann. Thank you very much!
Nice vid - i would have assumed the problem to be a reverse switch like on the E36
Nice vid, just bought the same kit. I was going to get someone to fit it but after watching yours, I may attempt it myself. Thank you
Thanks! Happy I could help
@@ClassicWrenching Apologies - question - the left side harness has 3 red wires - 1 thinner than the other 2. There are no markings on the 2 thicker red wires to differentiate them. On your video i seem to see a red/grey wire? Do you recall any differences in these 2 red wires?
@@sierrapapa1711 There's no difference as they are both red. I used a multimeter to identify the wires in each end. I just didn't use the clip in the video.
@@ClassicWrenching excellent - i'm just waiting on a decent crimper to arrive, then it's game on 😊 I'm hoping it may fix 3 of my in-op windows. I hear clicks in each door when the switches are pressed, but only one moves.
Good video 👍 and nice product from Schmiedmann, had no idea this even existed, will definitely have to do this on mine!
Thanks! Yeah it worked great and it’s so nice to open the hatch without needing the key to unlock😁
