Hey, I'm John and I believe that there are few things in life as meaningful as exploration. It's something that is ingrained in our nature as humans. I think that for most of us, the more connected we are to the great outdoors, the happier we can be. Join me as I explore the boundless beauty and rich history of the great American West!
What I Found Hidden in this Canyon STUNNED Me
While researching historic sites in the southwest, I caught wind of a fascinating canyon, possibly covered in ancient ruins. Situated on the periphery of a prominent native territory, and the edge of two climatic zones, this canyon presented the opportunity for an intriguing excursion with many unknowns. If the evidence from my research proved true, this canyon was likely a massive network of ancient life, where natives thrived. With no knowledge of the current conditions of the canyon, my girlfriend and I ventured into its trenches in seek of the prehistoric artifacts…

shocked yall haven't seen a lot more snakes.....with the creeks and greenery right near cliffs and drainage......has to be game trails as well..............right ??
Yeah...well someone commented something interesting - for everyone one you see, there are 5 that you passed without noticing. kind of scary but probably accurate! Yeah definitely some game trails in there. Thanks for watching my friend! -Johnny
that road he's walking om seems pretty well travelled
Stunning country.
Agreed...thanks for watching! -Johnny
The Gardener snake is actually a Garter snake.
haha I actually learned this shortly after posting the video. Thanks for pointing that out though! hope you enjoyed the video
Please don’t wear packs around ruins..
I am an artifact hunter myself and I absolutely hate it when I visit a site where a previous explorer has disturbed, collected and displayed the artifacts that they found. It destroys the authenticity of the site!
Yeah I hear ya on that. Honestly I was just grateful to find and see the pottery...but I do kind of agree with you. Thanks for watching my friend -Johnny
Just found you guys....I WILL BE WATCHING....love the respect for those precious artifacts....YEA BABY
Thank you so much for those kind words!! Really appreciate you...should have a new video out next week. Stay tuned! turn on notifications if you havent already! -Johnny
Why spirals and why the different shaped tails on the spirals?
Theres many theories about the spirals. Theres an interesting one that says that the center of the spiral is their "center place". almost like a map leading them home. Thanks for watching my friend -Johnny
Do not tell where u are or it will be gone. I know where u are and it's beautiful but people like to destroy
Could have been dinosaurs that were tall so they had to stor it high up
U need to be careful exploring ancient ruins specially indigenous ones, you should smudge urself before so nothing sticks to you, spiritually stick, sage smudge to keep them from connecting to you. Thank you for not taking anything that's respectful something the colonizers did not have respect! Please don't leave any way of viewers being able to retrace ur steps because there's still alot of people who for no reason hate indigenous groups and history! But they want to live in our country!! All indigenous groups lived peacefully unless they were forced to fight, history books have our history all wrong! With everything still standing shows how well they were made! Something the white colored people of this planet couldn't figure out how to do.but sadly it's haters that destroy it. I watch another explorer that goes to these sites, he's learning our ways to understand the way and area they were built.
Awesome place
Thanks so much for watching! -Johnny
We're you see the spiral that is the door to the other
The spiral represents a wormhole to another dimension, possibly Navajo opened by sound it is said the Navajo 5000 years ago the Navajo came to earth by crawling through such a wormhole
It looks like you all are in my backyard. Literally. We find this stuff all over here.
Right on! Where are you located??
DRONES ARE THE WAY FOR THIS. Seriously, safer for "people" and no harm, to the sight. That BLACK, four toed foot with "claws" I have not seen before. I keep thinking those larger cracks and deeper "holes" might have something in them. Maybe a "mounted" LED light(s). Thanks
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah a lot of people have mentioned that it looked like there were doorways back there. super interesting -Johnny
Possibly a DOOR @ 15:47.
ThOSE petroglyphs mean RUN 🏃
They sleep here .. now thr stones bleed ing
Giants build the wirld my friend ...❤
The Wind Cave was very interesting. I can imagine cavemen or indigenous people living in it. By the looks of the cave, it doesn't look like it will be around much longer, just like the arch that collapsed in Utah. There may be an app that would identify what kind of rocks there are and the fossils in them. I know there is one for identifying plants. Nice video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for the kind words my friend! More western adventures coming soon -Johnny
These were little people
No adventure is a wasted one. I, for one, wish I lived in an area like that to explore. I was shocked that there wasn't a Dollar General there! lol
Amen to that. You're absolutely right - no adventure is a wasted one. that phrase should be coined.
How remote can this be with a road running through it?
Awesome video!
Thank you so much! really appreciate your kind words. More western adventures coming soon -Johnny
That is obviously a well traveled dirt road. Maybe no one or even very few hike it but someone drives it since the road has been well graded and is grass free. Thanks for the video though.
On private ranch . Owner kept the site closed for generations(?) But obviously ranching continued..
There couldn’t have been very many of them at any one time. If there had been, they wouldn’t have had to go to such extreme lengths to protect their food. Their numbers would have protected it down where they lived. Just a thought….🤗❤️🐝
Thanks for the comment. More western adventures coming soon -Johnny
Nice find
Thank you my friend! More western adventures coming soon -Johnny
Great video, Johnny and Cammie! Keep em coming!
Really appreciate your words of encouragement! More western adventures coming soon -Johnny
22:16 my guess is that would be just a general cutting tool. It's edge is smooth from being struck off the rock they were spalling, but it hasn't been worked. So the edge is sharp, but fragile and dulls fast. A worked edge will look wavy from continuously pressure flaking. (also maybe could of just been a piece they were saving to make into an arrowhead but just didnt get around to doing)
cool, thanks so much for your insights! More western adventures coming soon -Johnny
When you were standing in front of that monolith approximately 9 1/2 minutes in. Did you happen to notice behind it how it looks like perfect building blocks. I think it's nothing more than geology. My point is so is the Bosnian pyramid quote. I don't think it's any more remarkable than what you're standing in front of it's just geology. I've had people retort when I've made this comment saying no they've done research and then I looked it up in this research to find contrary to their research😮 I've heard there's mortar joints and then from geologists that's nothing more than geology. I like to believe in such things but I just don't think it is. Check out some of the crazy geology in Siberia there's some questionable things. Have a great day Johnny thanks for sharing🎉
hmm super interesting. Didnt see it that way when i was there but no doubt geology is mindbending and sometimes seems too good to be true. pretty incredible stuff. Thanks so much for watching my friend -Johnny
Thank you for showing us another beautiful place Johnny Out West! I'm going backwards to watch your videos after finding you on youtube yesterday. It's sad to see that there are disrespectful people who graffiti these historic ancient sites. Thank you for bringing it to the public's attention. 🙏
Thank you so much! Truly means a lot. Hopefully will have a new video up next week. Be sure to turn on notifications so you dont miss it! -Johnny
@@johnnyoutwest I will be looking forward to the next one! Be safe out there and enjoy.. thank you!
Great vid guys! Would have loved to have seen stone tool artifacts in addition to the pictographs. But excellent video. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you so much for those kind words! really appreciate you. more western adventures coming soon. -Johnny
I love your spirit, how you love exploring the past, looking at how our ancients lived and flourished in places modern day people can't imagine how they did it. When I was much younger I loved doing that too! Keep on keeping on as long as possible, my body gave out, now I'm enjoying watching people like you, "Johnny Out West." What joy you bring to so many of us.. I for one am loving it! Thank you!
You know, if there were more people like you out there the world would be a better place. Really appreciate your kind words, it means a lot. More western adventures coming soon - stay tuned. -Johnny
@@johnnyoutwest you're doing a wonderful thing for everyone and may not know it. These videos might help to get officials to pay you or someone to put simple signs out there saying "do not touch or remove anything." Maybe official stickers so it doesn't weigh anything. Thanks again! Take care out there. 🙏
Fascinating
More western adventures coming soon -Johnny
It’s like a Hopi pueblo, probably a very early version of one. This is more than the usual site. It is complex. I think it’s special!
Pretty amazing, right? thanks for watching my friend! more western adventures coming soon. -Johnny
The mud with sticks is called “dab and wattle,” or something very like that! It’s a very common primitive mode of construction everywhere. This is one of the most impressive ancientAmerican sites I ever saw, that wasn’t already a museum. I hope the scientists notice. This site deserves to be recorded, studied and protected.
👌Wattle and daub, but that is normally loam and not mortar.
oh cool, really appreciate this comment. Good to know. Appreciate you my friend
Yea, great history in this video.
That cube-shaped granary is not in a difficult to access spot. It was probably used in peaceful times.
Interesting that you regard that can as an artifact. It’s a pop top, and not the original kind. I forget when those came in, but I’d guess the 1980s, well within my lifetime. I consider it to be (old) trash, which is interesting, but not very…
Archaeologists could go there and make a thorough record and analysis. Untouched or relatively untouched sites are rare.
The thing about rain, it’s not the rain nearby that is so dangerous, it’s the rain 10 or 20 miles away, way upstream, where it is joined by dozens or hundreds of other similar streams… which all feed into your canyon!
I just love what they’re doing and what has been done! Sooooo cool!
Thank you for the kind words! Appreciate you. More western adventures coming soon. -Johnny
I grew up in the San Fernando Valley hiking in our local mountains was always my favorite pastime. We would also goes recreational Target practicing in the high desert. All over the area I was always amazed them on a fossils that we would find. I always remember going shooting up against the full black shale mountain. These two kids were knocking apart the pieces of shale and getting all these cool fossils and there was a mountain of them but I can't remember where it was. Knowing what they're worth I could have made a fortune even today if I could figure it out. There were so many back Canyon roads. My cousin in Burbank a pond in this backyard and they were pulling up Abalone shells perfect condition tons of them. On the tops of the mountains in Chatsworth Park we found fossils. I'm sure you'd find it all really interesting. Thanks for taking me along and another adventure have a great day🎉🎉🎉
Amazing, thanks so much for sharing! Appreciate you watching. More western adventures coming soon! -Johnny
What happen to this lost world filled with artifacts??? I didn't see any artifacts..... And its pronounced Free mont.
OMG!!! You boys be careful out there. I hope you are very prepared to get lost or stuck out there. I would love to be out there. I would do the exact same thing your doing!!!!!
Thanks for watcing!!! -Johnny
That rock art is so a Celtics depiction of Cernunous.
What a cool way to spend the day
Thanks for watching! More western adventures coming soon -Johnny
The term "ancestral pueblo" is a recently manufactured fake terminology that is not true. The people who built these defensive living positions, did so to escape the threat of the raiding, murdering, cannibal slavers who came from the south... the Ana Sa a' Zi ... Who were eventually wiped out completely... SOME of these places you consider to be "graineries" were burials, that were raided in antiquity.. But again, "ancestral Pueblo" is a fake terminology... Two things are apparent.. You don't really know what you are describing about building techniques at THIS location. And the soda can was left there in 1978 during the time that Safeway sold Cragmont Soda... 😂
