Considering Wind Waker and skyward sword have already gotten HD remakes I would think it’s gotta be either twilight princess or even better, ocarina of time/Majoras Make remake. I’m aware that the N64 titles have been remade before, but those were only for the game boy. Safe to say OoT is the GOAT, so giving that title, a proper HD remake for the switch 2 would be absolutely insane.

5:38 Playing devils advocate Sony made an updated port of Spider-Man (2018) for PS5 with more features even though the game already sold extremely well and that the PS5 was already backwards compatible with it. It’s definitely a possibility that Nintendo might do something like an updated port of breath of the wild though it did come out 7 years ago and the gap between Spider-Man and its remastered version was only two years so I really don’t know what’s gonna happen tbh🤷‍♂️

Excuse me. I'm sorry if you didn't listen to me a while ago, but… mind if you do part 2 of your wishlist for Smash 6, with Geno in it? And also, you should remove him and Waluigi from the part 1 thumbnail.

THE LEAKS DON'T STOP

Ive always dreamed of a full hero of time trilogy remake including OoT, MM, and TP completely redone in the style of the zelda wii u teaser trailer. Unfortunately I am well aware this is a pipe dream that would never come to pass, or worse yet, may just happen and be a BAD remake.

Super Mario World remake/remastered would be cool

This was completely off my radar and then I was given it by my daughter as a present. I went into it expecting a cute and fun-enough experience (I had doubts), but I was absolutely stunned by this game; the two of us have had a lot of fun with it so far. I found the mixing of the 2.5d movement with the 2d side scrolling sections (definitely Mario inspired) has added so much to the dungeon design. And the liminal-space-rift areas were my favorite! I agree completely that Nintendo knocked this one out of the park, especially with their handling of Zelda; her powers were unique and fun, and the story had some genuinely touching moments. As a dad that games with a daughter it was especially poignant. Plus, instead of falling into a cynical nostalgia, this game is full of wonderful callbacks to other games in the series but brings them in in a way that this is still very much it's own game worth playing on it's merits alone. Surprise hit of 2024 for sure!

Hero needs to be deleted

Tbh I've never played a Zelda game which I've finished in a week, this is the first. I could find myself in your opinion about Tri, in the sense that he wasn't annoying. I suppose there was a similar relationship with Midna, at least, that's how I experienced it, in terms of relationship with the main character (I liked Midna more, tbh). The music though... there was only 1 track in the entire game I liked, which was a track with Condé. The rest was imho below par compared to other Zelda games. Since music in Zelda is always a strong factor, that was a huge blow for me. Maybe I'm just too old 🤷‍♂ The gameplay was completely different from a normal Zelda game and yes, that was fun. The times I used Zelda in sword-mode I think I can count on 1 hand. The different types of echoes I've summoned for combat though... I think I can also count on 1 hand (Fire-chuchu, Lizalfos, Darknut, Bokoblin, Peahat... yeah, 1 hand). There were many more and the game encourages you to get all possible echoes, but as you never use most of them, like you said, you get a huge list, which isn't very practical. Saying that this is one of the BEST 2D Zelda games, sorry, no. This game comes behind Link to the Past, the Oracle games and Minish cap... and maybe also Link between worlds. Of course that's taking into account the available tech at the time those games were created.

People are deluded if they think the smash series will continue. Ultimate is the perfect end to the series

Mario kart is already shown so we know it comes to Switch 2, but a new Smash game is highly unlikely. It's called ultimate for a reason. Every character is in it and the successor needs a good reason to be purchase-worthy. Graphics wise you can't really do much. The AI features of the Switch 2 and the upscaling are helping the visuals of the game. The question is why would they want to make an ultimate version of Smash at all? To focus on other franchises maybe? What would justify a new Smash at all? I wouldn't be surprised if the release a smash game as a Launch title for the Switch 3 in 2031.

I don't think it'll happen, I mean do we even want Smash Infinite as a possible live-service game?

The wait for Brawl felt like an eternity. By 2003 I was already dying for a new Smash game. I didn't have internet and every issue of Nintendo Power I got I was hoping for an announcement.

Playing through it right now - it's absolutely wonderful. 🩵 Old-school top-down Zelda, but with a great new twist and excellent modern game design philosophies and features. Simply a joy to play.

Tbh I played both the full Switch game, and the Steam demo, sure, graphically its very different, but I think they both have a charm too them, tbh the only thing I personally dislike is the terrible Mean Street loading time, like 2 mins long, and occasional frame drops. Apart from that, other issues I have isn't exclusive to a certain platform but the remake in general.

From this day on, I expect either smash to be done by someone else, or to be over for good. Sakurai isn't coming back to this series, he gave us the best finale anyone could in a game series, and I believe firmly that if we even get any "new" smash, it's just a re-release of the old ones, but with a bit extra.

Adding a 3rd fighters pass to ultimate seems more likely. Ultimate will be backwards compatible on switch 2

if they do smash 6 i want them to expand on the roster and update some smash 64 movesets and ill be more than happy

Smash 6 will be a new game released in 2026 imo. I have faith that it'll be a reboot that gives the series a fresh start and FINALLY give verterans like Kirby new moves.

Smash 6 is already out according to sakurai. Came out back in 2018.

It should come out at the end of this year to be 7 full years after Ultimate released. Even if they didn't start development until 2020 that's still 5 full years of development time.

It's been 6 going on 7 since launch of Ultimate :) That's a great thread. If we're really looking at 8 or 9 or even 10 years, then I suspect you're right that it will be all new. I've personally been crossing my fingers for an evolved Ultimate Deluxe. It's just such a thing of magic what Sakurai accomplished. Watching that E3 presentation, "Everyone Is Here"..... that moment, it made me feel like a kid again. The whole hype cycle for that game did, religiously following papa geno leaks etc. E3 hadn't felt that way for me since I WAS a kid/teen in the 2000s when 7th gen was coming around. And obviously, E3 will never feel that way again. Would love to follow the leaks and hype cycle with you on this channel, cause I know Geno said he is backing out this time. Even if the game is a few years away, the hype cycle and leaks will start much earlier which will be a blast for us.

I think that most of your problems were cause of how the switch is. I played on the Xbox and it was much less clunky

When I saw the trailer drop I knew you be making a video. It looks good I am excited to see what games are going to be at launch.

I feel like they also made the game brighter, yes i know the new hardware makes it brighter but the original mean street on the wii was way darker. For 1 it had a dark swirling sky with wind once in a while and mean street looked spookier. Rebrushed changed it and made it less spooky and removed the dark swirling sky and just made it night time with a clear sky. Also i prefer the old collecting tickets and paint thinner capsules sound to. Overall its a good remake but some changes i feel were changed for no reason.

Being backwards compatible is nice. Personally I want to see a new Super Smash announce, another FPS Metroid would be great, I don't care too much for more ports since if I want to port something I'll just buy it on PC if it's a good port or just emulate it if it's not. The fact that Nintendo was taking way too long to announce anything about it was very annoying. We knew from around summer last year that there was something in the rumor mill, which at the time was fine, but the fact that they needed to wait for their own special Nintendo Direct show instead of just announcing it at any of the game award shows at the end of the year was frustrating.

Nintendo has never used "2" for a main console. Seems like they are taking cue from Sony. My bet is "Switch" will be their console line for the next couple decades.
