This performance in 2024 of The Lambeth Walk was at the request of, and in the presence of Tania Szabo, the daughter of WW2 SOE agent Violette Szabo GC. The band performed this, together with the Vintage Class Singers & dancers Steve & Sue Mace. Violette Szabo had been imprisoned in a labour camp during WW2 & had broken ranks during a particularly long roll call & danced & sung to The Lambeth Walk. On this occasion she had been lucky enough to get away with it & entertained the other prisoners for a few brief moments. The Lambeth Walk had been banned in Germany at the time due to a spoof video that the British had made. We hope that our viewers enjoy this performance that was meant to be light-hearted, but also dedicated to the life of Violette Szabo.
