FLYING IN A HELICOPTER: FlyBama Night Time Flight at Greater Gulf State Fair, Mobile, AL
(Filmed on 11-3-2024) An inaugural thing for FlyBama and the Greater Gulf State Fair in Mobile, AL this year as they began offering a Helicopter Flight within a 2-mile orbit over the fairgrounds for $35, which lasts about 2-minutes. I had the opportunity to take a quick orbit around the Mobile Fairgrounds and take my Sony Handycam on board with me for nice video. This is my 4th helicopter tour on record, 2014 over St. Louis, 2016 over Orlando, 2021 over Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, and now a flight in West Mobile.
While in the helicopter, you can see the radio frequency tuned at 118.3, the tower frequency at the nearby Mobile Regional Airport. The West Mobile area is about 200 feet above sea level. As we take-off, we begin climbing at about 500-700 FPM, and stay around 200-300 max ground level altitude for a minute. We take a right bank and fly over the parking lot, as we parallel Zeigler Road, heading East-bound. At this point, you can see the flashing red beacon far off in the distance, that's the red beacon you see when you're in Downtown Mobile looking at the flashing red light on the RSA Tower. Downtown Mobile is about 10 miles away in the air, while you have to drive at least 5 more miles to get down there in your vehicle. Then we take the 180-degree turn back on the North end and head West-bound, where you can see the fairgrounds on your left-side. While making the final circle around the West side of the fair's midway, you can see the white street lights of Schillinger Road nearby. The white lights to the right of the street lights is one of the runways at the Airport. And then we come back down to land on the fairgrounds. To close out the video, one of the managers was nice enough to welcome me inside the gates to capture a nice shot of the landing from behind the tail, but off to the side so that I remained in a safe distance from it.
In conclusion for this experience, the flight lasted about 90 seconds, so I had to really focus in hard for these 90 seconds to capture this video on my flight, because flying is always too fast to take everything in, but it was 90 seconds with a lot going on and it was a nice 90 seconds to make a video to remember. The manager who took me out to get the last shot said this was their first year coming out to our local fairs, but they will be back here next year. FlyBama is in Foley at OWA and they offer helicopter tours around OWA and Foley. 12:30 im sad to hear that the civic center is fully torn down. I loved seeing it. I go to pensacola and Milton florida like 4 ot 5 times a year. The building was built on my birthday just different years. Maybe one day i can go visit the new one.
We will be ready to see the new state-of-the-art arena to replace it, and it will bring a much brighter future to Downtown.

The Greatest was: - 2-5 (2-7 if you inc 1st yr losses) at Bryant Denny against 11 win teams. * - 0-3 against 11 win teams in their stadium.* * Lost to 11 win AU teams at home and in Jordan-Hare. Other than opinion polls, you simply cannot prove he was a great coach using just his on the field results.

Hey, I’ve looked at your channel videos and subscribed. One day in the future, I’m going to look to get up to Birmingham, and I’ll try to film some elevators up there. So we know about the Galleria Tower and the Hyatt Regency next door. So a few questions to ask you based on your experiences in Birmingham. I watched your video of the Shipt Building and that’s a TKE Destination Dispatch mod, and you wrote that you have to be a visitor to get in. So just to confirm, the elevator access is restricted through turnstiles correct? For the other buildings, I watched a video of the parking elevators at the Regions-Harbert Plaza, and I’ve read the building has Birmingham’s City Club at the top. Have you ever been in the building at all and do you know if the elevators are accessible? Also, is there a chance to get in AT&T or Regions Center? And lastly, which buildings do you see as good places to attempt to film the elevators in the area?

Do you happen to remember the year the main elevators at Providence were modded and what series they are also you should go back and film the service as they were recently modded as well
The main elevators there were Montgomery with Otis Series 1 COP’s. The modernization happened in 2013 and it’s either series 7 or series M2, not sure which one. The service elevators, I never found those. And hey, I’m sorry but to respect the privacy of the patients, I’m not going to attempt to film the elevators again, because it’s a hospital and I don’t feel comfortable with attempting to film in there ever again. My last visit there was 2016. Since it’s a hospital, I can’t tell you that it’s okay to walk in there, so you are at your own risk if you enter a hospital. But I’d like to ask, what year were the service elevators modded? How did you hear about it? And if you’ve been in there at all, what did you see in there?
@@clayhouseholder9309 last time I was there I was working there for project search, they were bagby elevators with the series 1 lobby arrows then the last time I visited there in 2022 they were modded to Kone kss 220

Up in the elevator it’s not touchscreen and when you press the 34th floor I’ll take you to a restaurant named Dauphin’s which has a bar and a self playing piano and a beautiful view of Mobile Alabama and the elevator is extremely fast
