I agree and also I didn’t like the fact that he was kind of obsessed with Marina where I think he kind of had moved on and then with Eloise obviously she was concealing quite a relevant piece of information which was about disappearing off at her brothers wedding at the Palace and the queen thinking she was lady whistled down and potentially ruined not just Eloise but Eloise family and I feel like the fact this was really gloss over in season and also will sort down wasn’t all bad there was some good things as well, and it wasn’t explained why Penelope challenged the Queen on certain bits Why she actually publish and see why the name lady whistle down and I’m kind of hoping that this will come out and also the fact we didn’t really get much in the way of reaction from people. I would love to have seen violet reaction and not be told and I would love to have had that conversation with Colin to say we actually know this is what Penelope has done and you’re forgetting what women cannot do in this time and the fact she’s done this is impressive. You shouldn’t be jealous of her it’s you know, it’s good but you also need to have a moral campus because absolute and it was a shame that you know he didn’t have bits and pieces whereas you know you got people like the family and I’m just like they even still here a lot of it could’ve just been could’ve been a told not show

O proprio colin quando foi a pedir da penelope deixou explicito que jamais teve ou demonstrou qualquer inclinacao sobre ter um dia se interessado por felicity isso quando a propria portia apostava que colin tinha indo pra pedir a mao da felicity ele foi bem claro que era com a penelope que desejava se casar

Sem falar que quem leu o livro viu o quanto as irmas penelope e felicity se amavam e como felicity era muito querida por penelope e felicity dentro daquela familia era um grande apoio emocional pra irmã isso sem falar da amizade da felicity com a hancy a irmã mais nova dos brigerton entao substituiram essa personagem tao querida pela tal marina que deserviço

Tanto que felicity quando soube que colin pediu a mao da penelope em casamento ficou muuuito feliz pela irma foi um trecho lindo do livro a reacao de felicidade da felicity pela irmã a parabenizado e comemorado sua felicidade

E como passar a querer a passar mais tempo ao lado dela achar divertida ,inteligente e charmosa ,encantadora

Sem falar que quando ele falar sobre o casamento com os irmãos no livro e ele não consegui se perdoar por a ter magoado os sentimentos dela até quando ele falar com benedic no livro do mesmo que naquele momento agiu como um tolo

Enfim no livro tem tantos momentos que na série não mostrados

No livro quando ele vai pedir conselhos a daphne sobre o sentimento que esta sentido não é sobre penelope se boa ou não mas sim se ele merecer alguém como ela e se ele era merecedor de todo o sentimento enfim alguém como ela

Ele passar admirar penelope quando ela se impõe e expressar sua opinião aos demais ve como ela é

The long and short of why Marina is so angry when she says "you need to wake up, Colin" is basically that he hasn't been listening to her when she's tried to explain to him that she's moved on from thinking about the past and what could have been and has accepted what her life is now. Colin, on the other hand, has been trapped in the past ever since their falling out, and is haunted by the "what ifs." This is her trying to get him to snap out of that fantasy, move forward, and stop dragging her back into it. It's after this moment where she gives him the "if you would simply open your eyes to what is in front of you..." speech, hinting that he has been overlooking Penelope. Her whole end bit after that moment really summarizes her feelings when she says: "you have many people who care for you, seek them out, because your future will certainly not be found in the past with me." Hope this helps!

@@winniebumble9522 Wow, thanks for this. Colin did need to snap out of his desire to be Marina's knight in shining armour! At the end of their discussion in S2 however, after Colin said his goodbye and turned away, I sensed some sadness and regret in Marina. I don't blame her, he wouldn't fall in love with gentle and caring Colin?

I think it's totally possible and you could definitely be on to something there. I guess I'd just always read that beat she has while he's turned away and she's still facing the camera less of a look of regret towards what happened with them, and more of that pause that comes when you are trying to decide if you're going to do something (or in this case, say something) big. I don't think it's always necessary to project Penelope into every Colin and Marina interaction, but I kind of feel like as he's walking away, Marina may be having this moment of "if I don't say something to him now, he may never figure this out." Marina was the one who told Pen that one day Colin will see how good she is to him, and I kind of think there's the space to read this moment as her being like: "boy clearly still needs some help" while also not outright saying "hey idiot, your best friend is in love with you." It ultimately does work in the sense that the next time Colin and Penelope talk, it finally clicks for him how much Penelope cares about him (albeit not romantically yet, because he's just as clueless as ever). Another way to read the interaction in a completely non-romantic fashion is a look of: "I really just snapped at this man who is very kindhearted and well-meaning, and I definitely hurt his feelings. Perhaps I should end this interaction with a reminder that just because I don't want him around, it doesn't mean that people don't care about him." All in all. I love stuff like this because every single line and moment can always be read in 100 different ways. I love any excuse to try to parse the different ways out.

She lost patience with him. He wasn’t seeing Marina as she is, and he never did, any more than he saw Pen or her place in his life clearly at the time. Marina loved George, and he died, and now she’s raising the children she created with her lost love, which is a big heavy thing that has nothing to do with Colin. Meanwhile Colin did not even register that part of the story because he was still trying to reason out his role in it. So she gave him a little kick in the pants.

The fun thing is that you’re actually pretty spot on with that note! I actually choose that song for a completely different video which was 90% finished until I pivoted to this one just because the length / swells of the verses and choruses worked for these emotional beats so well. So it’s much less about the song (which I agree can be distracting) and more about the music itself.

So glad you liked it! It was funny when I was making it and I added the scene of Colin reminding Eloise about her friendship with Penelope, I was like "why does this feel so WEIRD" and then I realized the that the amount of time he spent talking in that clip (~10 seconds) was equal to the rest of the time any man speaks in the whole video combined (~10 seconds). I truly said. This one's for the girls.
