Personally it's been a difficult year for me, but I'm grateful for the people who believed in me even when I didn't. I fondly remember listening to your interview of James Swallow on the Eisenstein book, it's my favorite. Chris' The Carrion Throne is also excellent and about an Inquisitorial investigation on a suitably toxic, decayed, and run-down Holy Terra, doing detective work - vaguely halfway between Ravenor and Bloodlines in feel. Lots of detail about Earth in M41 and why it really sucks, like everywhere else, unless you're rich. Recommended.

I've read the whole series as of December 2024. They're all good except Grim Repast by Marc Collins, which is horror-focused and so poorly written it's a solid slog to get through (it pains me to say it, but not as much as it pained me to read it). The Wraithbone Phoenix (the Maltese Falcon - geddit?) is a delightful "abhuman"-focussed thriller/adventure stand-out and highly recommended. Flesh and Steel by Guy Haley is great, and King of the Spoil is an odd one out as it has very little to do with solving crime (but still a solid book). Reading order isn't important.
