Good to know that Billy Joel is a fan from Moto Guzzi. My first Guzzi was in the late seventies, a 750 Sport. Now i came back to Guzzi, a CALIFORNIA III and i love to drive this Bike. 2 Years ago i went to Italy, to Mandello del Lario at the Lake of Como. In September there is every Year a big Birthdayparty and you see there thousends of Moto Guzzi Driver from all over the World. Next Year there is the 100. I helped lead the demo rides up and down Vanocker Canyon. All I can say about this motorcycle is that I fell in love with it. The more I rode it (and I rode it a lot) the better I got on it. I have ridden the new Indians and also several of the new Harleys, but this bike runs rings around them (in stock form). It may take some a while to get used to the front end, but once that is achieved this bike is amazing. Power, handling, braking, and a level of quality unsurpassed. Miguel Galuzzi and his team deserve much praise for this motorcycle.

How do you guys think this would do on a 6 month ride from California to Tierra Del Fuego? Do you think it will hold up?

I own a 2016 Motto Guzzi V7 II Stone. Love the bike. Light enough to shoot around in the city and has enough weight to cruise the interstate without feeling like you are going to be blown off the road. It also garners positive excessive curiosity wherever I go. Beautiful bike with a retro look. Yes, it could do with another 10-20 horsepower, but hey, it does what it does without regret. Though I have not ridden the Guzzi V9 Roamer, I could see myself owning one if they would add a seperate tachometer ( I like the retro look it would convey). But for now I will stay loyal to my Goose V7 II Stone. Does everything I want for the time being with style. It even, IMO, does it with a "Cool" factor attached, haha. And one final note, since it is built in Italy by Italians (not contracted out to India or China) the engineering and build quality is unsurpassed in my opinion. I was toying around with the idea of getting a vintage 1970 Triumph Bonneville 650. But the more I ride my Goose V7 II Stone the less likely that will happen. At least any time soon. ;-)

I helped lead the demo rides at this year's Sturgis Rally. I was fortunate to ride almost every model in the Guzzi line up and the Bobber was my favorite of the two V9s. The steering was a lot more stable, albeit slower, than the Roamer and that is a quality that I like. I don't like "twitchy" front ends and this thing rode like it was on rails. Power was good and I can see this bike as a competent boulevard cruiser as well as a medium distance road machine. Also, I like simple motorcycles. Keep it real, Guzzi!
