This channel is dedicated to presenting the art of fine theatre organ playing and music.
Will Shaw is an organist, pianist, and BA music graduate who in 2019 at the age of 21, won the American Theatre Organ Society's UK, Young Theatre Organist of the Year title. Since graduating, Will has further studied the theatre organ with the hope of widening the awareness of this superb instrument. He is a current performer on the UK theatre organ circuit as well as a member of the organ team at the Plaza Super Cinema, Stockport.
Keith Evans is a lifelong organist and pianist with a history in the music industry with companies such as Boosey and Hawkes, Cavendish Organs, Technics musical instruments and the Panasonic corporation, as both a concert artist and businessman. Keith worked alongside and under the tutelage of UK organ maestro Bryan Rodwell for many years, an outstanding musician admired greatly by all his peers and audiences alike.

'When Will Shaw asked me to write something to go with the recordings which he and Keith Evans had made, I was both delighted and honoured to accept. When I realised how many young organists are coming up, with reasonable access to theatre organs, and also good teachers available, it made me think back to when I first took an interest in playing.
When I was eleven, I saw and heard my first theatre organ, and I fell hook, line, and sinker for it, and immediately decided that that was what I wanted to do when I grew up.
The recordings made by Will and Keith gave me a very pleasurable experience, as the quality is quite exceptional.
One piece impressed me very much - Will's "Dizzy Fingers". The articulation was very clear and there was a lovely counter-melody shining through, and I do like a good counter-melody.
I enjoyed every track, as I thought the accuracy, well-thought-out arrangements, which must have taken a lot of time, and lovely registrations, made the tracks so interesting and it was a good contrasting programme.
I was not disappointed with any of the tracks, and I felt there was something for most tastes.
I would recommend anyone who enjoys quality playing to listen to these and I am sure you will feel well-rewarded for taking the time to listen to them.'

'I first met Keith Evans when I was in my mid-teens, almost 50 years ago. Keith was then working at Boosey & Hawkes, and especially connected with Cavendish Organs. I was moved by his friendliness and couldn’t fail to be awe-struck by his talent. Keith was then a protégé of the legendary Bryan Rodwell. Just to have the skill and talent to be that is impressive enough. But in the best fashion, Keith took what Bryan taught him, and moulded it with his own distinct style, as is the way with all the best eclecticism. Some few years later I was fortunate to work with Keith at Technics Musical Instruments, over a period of 21 years. Throughout all the years of knowing and working with Keith, he has been an inspirational musician, latterly at Technics a great boss, and throughout, a dear friend. As is often the case, ‘what goes around, comes around’. Fast forward and Keith became a mentor to his own protégé, in the prodigiously talented form of Will Shaw. In this, Keith and Will’s third album, I’ll leave it to the music to demonstrate the success of this wonderful partnership, as they once again put Keith’s superb Allen GW4 through its paces.'

I would guess it takes a genius to remember which keys to use and play that organ. I would not know where to begin. Beautiful organ and sound!
very very nice. but to hardish. if you listen to a real theatre organ.. the sound is less hardish, more natural and less stuffy ......... Again for an digital instrument. beautiful. but nothing beats the real !
Thank you. Well, you can never beat pipes, but, you can get mighty close. This time we recorded the organ with the microphones closer to the speakers. It certainly gives more of a studio sound and is less rounded. Always interesting to try new techniques.

The collaboration between Will Shaw and Keith Evans is absolutely breathtaking! Hearing the intricate melody and rhythm of 'Dizzy Fingers' on the Allen GW4 Theatre Organ was a delight to the ears. These two performers complemented each other perfectly, and the result was like magic in organic sound. Bravo! 🎶👏🎹

That is correct. This is just the GW4, apart from the wind chimes, they were provided by the Roland Piano. Thanks for watching!

No software pack is used on this recording. The sounds you hear are just of the Allen organ samples. Thanks for watching!
Some of the samples for the GW 3 and 4 manual models were of George's Hollywood Philharmonic home installation pipe organ.

Absolutely Unbelievable !!! What fantastic musicians playing one super organ!!! Allen Organs are so amazing! I remember the days when people would have an organ in the house. Now you can't even find any home organs. What a shame kids do not have the oportunity to learn this wonderful instrument. My mom started on a Hammond spinette and worked up to a Conn Artist. We still have it in my house but parts ans service are so scarce, time to retire it.q Brad Maier Babylon, NY

The decline of music in general has been sad to see over the years and while the organ has certainly fallen out of favour more than most instruments, it’s great to see some interest from young people again. I think our mission must be to try an get these instruments back into the public eye. They’ll never be popular again as such, but, I’m sure there’s many people out there who’d be interested! All the best to you and yours from all the team!

While the bonus is it provides more flexibility in the foot. The real reason is because it’s a home installation and socks wont wear and scratch the pedalboard as much as wearing shoes. That’s the theory anyway!
@@mostyntheatreorganproducti6679 I have to play--even publicly, in socks because of severe neuropathy brought on by two diseases. But at almost 72 I am having a ball. In shoes, I have absolutely no feeling in my feet. But enough about me; your talent is formidable; what a refreshing approach to the music with phenomenal harmonic development, variations in rhythm...I could go on. Look so forward to hearing more of your work.

Is it a Hauptwerk organ? It says Allen Gw4. A converted Allen maybe? Which sample set?
Thanks for watching. All of the information is in the description. There are two different organs featured in this production. The Allen GW4 and the Hauptwerk Paramount 3/20.
As always, it was a wonderful concert! One aspect that I really love about your playing styles is that BOTH of you guys possess an original approach to the instrument. More to the point, I don't really recognize any borrowing or influences from organists past. That being said, I CAN occasionally hear Buddy Cole or maybe Johnny Seng in Keith's jazz chops. His choice of chord progressions and registrational colors are definitely familiar to my jazz ears but other than that, a totally original approach. No overt George Wright or Reginald Dixon (Blackpool) influences here! Which is definitely fine by me because like country music, I can only take the Blackpool school in small bites! Conversely, I could listen to Bryan Rodwell all day! 😆🎶 Regrettably, until you guys released your first concert several months back, I had never heard of either one of you! But thank heavens you've made it on the scene. I was hooked from the first couple of notes! I'd even go so far as to say both of your talent/artistry ranks right up there with the likes of Simon Gledhill and Richard Hills! The additional selections on the 3/20 Paramount virtual were a nice added bonus. Loved the trumpet solo's as well. Reminded me of Johnny Seng and Bobby Hackett on Dream Awhile! Everything was stellar. Also I really enjoyed your high recording level. So many virtual organ concerts these days are recorded at lower volume and I personally like to have the "being there" sound in my headphones and the volume on my phone can only go so high. Anyway, I look forward to listening to it again and again in the next couple of days. If the first concert had been released on LP or CD, I would have worn grooves in the playing surfaces by now as many times I've listened to it! Cheers Guys! 😉❤️
