'Real ride' range test with impressive results I think! Proper ride test, not just looping a favourite trail until the battery dies!

13:57 Everyone complains about the stem not holding, just toss it and get a better one.
Would probably work with the specialized unit as well. Much easier than trying to wrap self sealing tape around with the cables in the way.
No ebike is completely waterproof
I’ll do that with my Bosch smart system controller
So close to swapping my kenevo sl for one. Would you recommend now youve had it a few weeks?
Absolutely Steve, I've ridden a ksl for 3 years, and I think I've ridden it pretty hard on pretty much every type of riding there is and I can honestly say I would buy the Amflow over the Ksl in a heart beat. There is more reasons behind that than just the way it rides, and I love riding the Ksl but I'm no faster on the Ksl than the Amflow. So if you ride like me, what I'd call slightly above average then the Amflow is the bike to have. Now its not for everyone, if your an absolute shredder and ride towards the pro rider end of the scale your gonna find it's limitations but for prob 90% of riders out there you wouldn't be disappointed.
@@dave_waudby awesome mate thanks for that! think ill have to get one :
The compression on the shock is normal and when the shock is warm the lever will firm .
Your pad springs need just slightly widening and will stop rattle
Na!! No springs on magura
Nice solution, but the fact that you need to think about and do something like this on a new emtb is crazy. R&D these days is bs.
Solution to what though? The Display is as stated IP rated so that's a sealed unit and there's several ingress points throughout the bike already (as with any bike), there's little chance of any real damage as a result of water getting in there, the headset, the bb or anywhere else. As for R&D being BS lol I trust you've not seen or experienced the motor lol. Good to know that some random internet stranger knows more than the combined Amflow R&D team though, let me know when you start employment with them shake up their engineering department kek
@rtorbs water gets in anywhere it has a chance...sorry bro but no sealing where electrical wiring is is a no go. Oh let me look again, was I talking about the motor? No I wasn't, nor was the OP, you brought it up! Obviously you have some personal issues with which I can't help you. Have a wonderful life and enjoy your bicycle you dummy...
@aleszverca Yeah and water will run to the lowest point away from cables that are also iprated you melt lol. The motor ref was purely sarcastic suggesting amflow put their R&D efforts where it matters, i.e the motor and not some fictional weak point that you fabricated cos you're just a hater lol. Enjoy your basic emtb. Dummy. Lol
@@aleszverca Lol and? the cables are IP rated and water will run to the lowest point which will be the BB anyway ! The R&D ref was purely sarcastic stating that Amflow put their efforts into the motor and not a fictional weak point that some armchair engineer deemed critical.....enjoy your none Amflow though. Tell me if it's still there in a few weeks lol

Did the same with my one, but didn't water tested it yet 😂
Great trick!! Simple and effective. And very cheap. Congratulations 👏
Whats that under the top tube, repair kit?
Crank brothers TT17 tool storage, didn't like the look/bulk of the amflow frame bag so I've been on the lookout for something a bit more discreet that would fit under the top tube. I hate riding with a pack so I bought the TT17. Looks super slick tucked under there and has every essential you'd need for a trail side repair. It's expensive though 😖
Dji should employ you,
Simple but genius. Well done.

Nice! I will still buy that bike soon 😎
Thank you for your feedback on our product. We value your experience and are here to help address the issues you've encountered. Here are our suggestions and plans for each point you've raised: 1. Brake Noise: If you're experiencing noise when braking, it might be due to dirt on the disc. Please check and clean the disc to ensure optimal performance. Our Amflow bikes come with Magura brakes that use resin pads, which are generally quieter. If you use metal pads, they might produce more noise, even with other brands. If you're unsure whether the noise is abnormal, feel free to record a video and send it to us, or visit a local store for professional assessment. 2.Stem Torque Issue: We recommend adjusting the torque to between 5-8Nm for a better riding experience. This adjustment has been thoroughly tested and will provide a more secure fit without risking damage to the bolts or the stem. 3.Ride Record Issue: We have forwarded your feedback to our senior engineers for consideration and optimization. We appreciate your patience as we work on improvements. 4.Time Synchronization: We are aware of the time synchronization issue and plan to address it in a future firmware update. Thank you for your understanding. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are committed to providing you with the best service possible!
@Amflow-o1g thank you for the information 👍
Hi, Great Video, Just got an Amflow myself, what size is that water bottle you have on your bike? cheers.
It's 750ml fidlock, I also have the 450ml for smaller rides. Both work great and fit nice.
The bike ascetically reminds me of the gen 2 bronson , that was a wicked bike that could punch well above its weight. Im not on the Amflow train yet as my preference for the moment is a beefier bike but , super keen to see how the bike and motor holds up .
coming off a 170mm long slack enduro bike, I'm blown away by how capable this bike is. I'm coming round to thinking the majority of people are well over biked for what they ride(including me)
@@dave_waudby thing looks like a rocket ship , 4th trail was mint ! Keep us posted
@MrDaymien1 check out my latest range test vid in peak district, the thing flies on fast rocky descents 👌
Great video! I was hoping to find the GPX file in the description.
there is a strava link further down the comments 👍
Put some clear tape over the display.
That range is ridiculous. Out of interest what mode were you in and have you modified the power output I assume?
If you look on the Amflow bike community group on Facebook on my post where I shared a link to this video I have listed all my mode settings in a reply to a comment. 👍 I was in eco and auto 90% of the time with trail and turbo being the other 10%
@@dave_waudby cheers ill try to dig it out! 👍

Great video! and good to see you testing out the IP rating. I see you are running Schwalbe tyres. Can you let me know the carcass versions you are running and the psi values on the front and rear. Are they Super Trail, Super Gravity or DH or a mixture? Always good to see someone posting on going real life experiences on a new to the market ebike.
Super trail, super soft tacky chan up front and super trail, soft big Betty in the rear. I run rimpact inserts front and rear, I personally don't think you need any stiffer carcas than super trail if you run inserts. 17psi front and 21psi rear. This setup works for me, I've ridden Scotland,Wales,Lake district, French alps with this setup and no probs at all 👍
Not just me who thinks the stem is naff then i'll be replacing mine for sure great video btw
Cheers, yer that stem is a weak point on an otherwise solid build for the price.
It‘s the brake discs. I replaced them on my bike by Magura MDR-P, and the rattling and squeaking are gone. I also swapped the pads for Trickstuff Power ones… Now the are perfect for me! Greetings and thanks for the range test 😎
What discs did you fit?
@ I mounted the Magura MDR-P 220 mm front and 203 mm rear
@@florianworz541 Thanks for the info
@@dave_waudbyMT5s are Magura’s unsung heros. Swapping to the HC1 one finger brake levers is a fine upgrade👍🏼
Great bike Heard the paint is shit
The paint finish is top quality, it's the lacquer or whatever they put on to finish it that's shite, I invisd before first ride and mine still looks like new.
How'd you find the dropper, i swapped mine out because it was arse
It's fine, lever needs a bit more pressure to push it than I'm used to but I ain't fussy when it comes to droppers, as long as it goes up and down it'll do me. 🤷
I changed everything on mine bar the front wheel and shock which I’m changing for a coil! I thought I had different stem on mine?🤔 I need to check as I removed it straight away and put a hope one on!👍🏻
Out of interest which shock are you going for? I’ve been in contact with a dealer and also Amflow and they don’t recommend the Fox DHX, Fox say they don’t like their coil shocks to be used on bikes with a yoke link as it potentially causes premature wear however I am waiting for the the review by robridesemtb to be posted to see what his thoughts are from the custom build that he built up.
@stuartrobertson2890 I'd be more interested in a genuine amflow owners opinion who's bought everything with their hard earned cash than what Robridesemtb says. Nothing against Rob as I like his content but you get what I mean 🤷
@@dave_waudbyI get what your saying however £600 outlay on a shock that Fox say isn’t suitable for a yoke suspension bike could be a costly mistake and as he was trying one it makes sense to at least listen what he has to say
When I contacted Amflow they said the bike was tested with ohlins and rockshox, I questioned why not Fox as both their bikes have Fox front and rear, the technician was going to query it with the design department but I’ve not heard anything back yet.
36 was the defacto single crown fork for gnarly stuff for years . Its plenty capable for a bike like the Amflow
Totally agree 👍
👋 Merci. Une belle vidéo 👍
Great video Dave, I’ve not seen any of these bikes here in the Lake District yet. Looking forward to seeing one in the flesh soon. 😉
I'll be up there on mine as soon as there's a decent weather window, its my favourite place in the uk to both ride and hike. ❤
@ Ah, nice one Dave. Forecast looks ok next week lad. 😉
Fantastic vid mate , been thinking of buying one . Seems to me the high end bike rattles and yours doesn’t…
Not sure what's going on with the elusive rattle, seems some rattle and some don't. It'd make more sense that something other than the motor internals are causing the rattle such as cables or something that could be slightly differently assembled with every build, surely the motor assembly is a constant and pretty much each one is identical 🤷
Awesome! I bought this bike for exactly this sort of ride, do you have a route to share? Cheers!
@s4mmyd1980 I've replied to one of the other comments with a link to my mates strava so you'll find it there. 👍
That’s literally miles better than my EP8 on those trails in this weather. I range tested it flat out (in turbo) when the battery was new and I was quite fit at Dalby Red (so less challenging by some way for a battery) and got 30 miles and 3000 ft. It has a 630 kwhr battery and is bolted into a SC Bullit. Very impressed!
Although the dji motor is very powerful they seem to have made it quite efficient aswell, pretty impressive.
Do you have a strava link for ride?
strava.app.link/wqwxsOhfgQb this is ride my mate recorded, my garmin missed abit😖
Good video - thanks. I've ridden the peaks once on a trek rail and found the bike too much of a lump on many of the technical ups. This looks better. Your bike seems quite than Will Greenfields' bike , but that might be a difference in your recording equipment ?! What bike was your mate on? He seemed pretty quick.
I think Will tweeks for the sound (and doesn’t like noise - he’s just changed his brakes from MT to SRAM for that reason rather than changing the pads 😂).
my mate was on a giant reign, 170mm travel, factory suspension, real nice bike and yes hes pretty quick. No motor rattle on mine although i probably wouldn't have heard it over all the rocks smashing my rims and downtube 😀
How much battery did yr m8 have left?@@dave_waudby
Also which power mode did yu use?
@bikemad @bikemad he didn't!! He took a spare battery in his back pack, he used his 750wh up and maybe a third of the other one which I think was a 500wh. His 750wh battery isn't great, it's not at 100% health and runs down alot faster than normal so that was a factor in him taking a spare battery.
Good ride lads, that porsche not up there anymore 😂
🤣
Just come across the channel looking for amflow reviews, great riding and editing, got a sub from me👍might have to have a trip over to these trails.
reaally cool video. may I ask, on which hill would i seacrh, to find those incredible trails?
@@weekendbikingwarrior360 Dalby forest
Same opinion of the bike! Only changed the tires and the stem => perfect for me!
I understand your point about the rubber ring, but with an IP 56 rating, the Amflow PL is built to handle water jets. No need to stress over a little water
Can i use your voice for an xxx movie 😂
I have the MT5 brakes and they have been really good. No pad movement at all. Two things you can try to make them better:1 upgrade the pads to sintered. Magura brand only uses resin pads no matter what level. 2 your pads are probably the 9P series (two pads linked together). Try the 8Ps. They are the individual pads that bolt in, and should reduce any movement or play
Cheers for the info, I've just ordered some galfer pads on someone's recommendation, they are what you call the 8ps so will see what difference they make.
@ your welcome. Also don’t forget to lightly sand and clean your rotors, to get the old pad material off, before you bed in the new brakes. I’ve made that mistake before
Everyone saying it’s normal and that’s what to expect. There’s IP ratings for a reason. This is not a cheap ebike and a simple seal would have helped. It’s never going to be 100% waterproof especially with a jet wash ( and no you shouldn’t be using a jet wash) but something is better than nothing. It’s early days yet, but this screen seams to be the weak spot on this bike. I’m sure the Gen 2 will sort these issues out. Just not great for such an expensive ebike.
Looks like the electronics are sealed?
Whats the speed limit and why its there? can it be unlocked?
Speed limit is 25kph in the UK, its there because I think our laws would class the bike as a motor vehicle if it went over 25kph, you would then need insurance, road tax, mot etc to ride it on the road. I don't know of a way to unlock it but someone will figure it out.
looking forward to trying one im riding a haibike flyon 120 nm and 900w power but 28.5 kg so will be nice to ride a lighter bike
It rides great, if you try one you'll want one 😉
