To me it doesn't matter, it's the most overrated and overhyped game ever...
Then why'd you click on the video?
I need to listen to your sephiroth ghast jojo section thing again. I think you might be mistaken
Oh? About what?
@ Did not expect a response so quick! But (correct me if I’m wrong and I absolutely could be!) I didn’t think ghast was complacent in sephiroths creation? I thought he just loved aeriths mama. And made her!
ps your voice is very calming! You need to do the same with 8 and 9
@@mritchywrathI was absolutely mistaken and misheard!
E.T. was definitely not the worst game ever made. Maybe at the time? But much worse came out after. I had the game and the worst part about it was dropping into pits to find pieces of the telephone. trying to levitate back out sucked. I think you had to keep hitting the red button repeatedly while pushing up on the joystick. and Atari's controllers weren't very responsive at that time. so You'd drop back down and have to start all over. The agent chasing you always kept you on your toes. And lots of times you dropped into pits to avoid him. It was very similar to a lot of other games out there like Indiana Jones. I played Yars Revenge. It was a good game. But same screen over and over and predictable. For me worst Atari games were Star Wars and packman.
13 years old jack black/??!!!!
Handsome little devil, ain't he?
enjoying
Thanks!
just wanna say i’m always looking forward to the next episode of this series!

Next, we will look at the rise of Nintendo!
That's right!
Thank you again for the research, editing, and insight. You are a true king for the work you're putting in on these videos.
It’s hard for me to put into words what VII did to me as a young man. I loved and still love action games. In fact, FF is the only game of its kind I’ll play. I believe it’s the greatest video game series ever made. As a whole project under final fantasy, it’s the single greatest title ever. It has impacted more than people want to give credit for.
playing this game on Xbox, I remember watching my friend play it on PS1 back in 1997. Such a great story so far and wonderful characters, I love it!
Okay, so Mr. Baer was basically real life Seto Kaiba, wanting to turn a military company into a gaming company. 😂 Just found this series, and I'm amazed at the amount of research and care that went into it. Great job, and keep up the good work!
Part 1 of my new video series about the history of video games. th-cam.com/video/qy_wVMqCP24/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Mr.ItchyWrath
I was complaining about the plot and some of the characters but then the plot twist was revealed and felt like an idiot and realised its a very deep character, was a bit suprised, it has to be one of the greatest plot twists in video game, idont think it would be as praised without it and its also something alot of people can relate to in life
i NEED you to say “EA sports. it’s in the game.” you have his voice like identically 😭🙏

i love shovelware and porn
Who doesn't?
I'd prefer to see clips of video games of the era rather than generic filler clips. I mostly watch these videos to see the games.
That's a fair criticism and I will take into consideration. I try to include gameplay footage as much as possible, so I would appreciate your feedback on where exactly in this video I should have added more. Generally I don't show gameplay footage when I'm talking about unrelated topics, like lawsuits or business dealings. Also, because of the pornographic nature of the games I wasn't going to show the footage. Granted, it's with Atari 2600 graphics, but still. They got...creative in how they represented stuff in those games. If you haven't seen the AVGN episode about it it shows it in all its uncensored (and unmonitzed) glory. Which is why it isn't available on his main channel.
@@mritchywrath It really started to stand out to me at 6:27 to 6:34 and 6:52 to 7:13. I would have enjoyed seeing some shovel-ware games running with a subtitle of the game name instead. You are indeed talking about social dynamics at that point, but the video title is shovel ware, so showing some more games titles would have been relevant to the overall topic. The script was good, and I listened to the end. It was a good explanation of the 84 crash. I'm personally interested in seeing all the games I've never played and don't have to time to play, so I mostly watch videos about games and what's good or bad about them. I understand about the explicit games, that wouldn't be allowed.

Same thing is happening in 2024
Both on Steam!
Been watching your vids since the FFVII video and love this series, pissed that many people have been watching it
It's been creeping up. And the FF7 video was out for almost a year until it starting getting lots of views.
the pheonix down at Gi Nattack XDDDD
And so we begin the 1983 crash.
Yessir.
homie sounds like Solid Snake from Temu.
I've heard the snake comparison. Not the Temu part though...
FF7 is and will be forever the best Final Fantasy ! FF9 , FFX & FF6 are awesome but not even close to FF7 !
I love this video. It's so weird seeing footage of 7 with music from 8 at the half hour mark.
Yeah, but I felt the song fit
Thank you for this amazing journey. It was a beatiful explanation of themes in a legitimatly solid game. Keep up the good work.
For me, this will always be the best game of all time
Cait Sith is one of a handful of reasons that I feel makes FFVI a superior game.

The cartridges May lack of memory but there was also extra space in the cartridges which was not being utilized it wouldn't have been impossible to add memory to the cartridges it would have been very doable the question is why did they may I have even considered the possibility or even if they did they probably thought about it as unfeasible or just didn't want to waste time and focus on the new console
Of course there are other possibilities and plenty of different scenarios I cannot really say what's going on through their head s nowadays it wouldn't even be impossible to make a little 500 gigabyte cartridge
My understanding was this: cartridges had the advantage of loading faster and making piracy harder (something Nintendo cared a lot about.) The drawback is that cartridges are more expensive to make than CDs, and while you could make a cartridge with more memory, that would drive up manufacturing costs even more. Were FFVII to be made on a large memory cartridge, it would have has to retail for more than most other video games, and I could see why that wouldn't be appealing to either Square or Nintendo.
True enough final fantasy VII alone wouldn't have been enough to justify the cost and it would have a high possibility of some storage space left over afterwards don't get me wrong final fantasy 7 is a good game I like ff8 a bit more just personal preference in that decision left all in all the decision they made to hold back the creation of final fantasy VII was a correct decision for the company that made the game completed even a single n 64 version Nintendo would have probably sued when it was really some PlayStation there is another possibility that they could have sold the singular version auctioneers letter and made up for any production cost of the game even made as a as a ultra one of a kind version of the game that was not released to the public which would have made dim a hefty sum at the time when it was so late in the future add in the fact does some games sell for extremely high prices a one-of-a-kind version of the game with a sold for more I could say they missed the opportunity but they also set saved thare business at the same time I think that was considered and why they ultimately did not make the game on n-64 cartridge. And I can't say it for sure but your understanding also seems pretty reasonable how tall we don't know speculate what is the way to treat the world war like an RPG but not the actual type call RPG is about strategy and other things but if you take that concept than everything checks in to place .

Just the music and clips of the old game are enough to give me nerd chills.
Were these uploaded before? The voice and script seems awfully familiar.
Yes, actually. I started making it in parts about to years ago, but then life happened and I wasn't able to commit to it. Months and months would go by between uploads, and I felt that really ruined the pacing. Things have settled down now, so I was able to make a bunch more of it and then decided to re-released it on a weekly basis. I'll admit some of that is for algorithm stuff, but now a new episode WILL be released every Sunday until its finished.
@mritchywrath no worries, I have 4 kids so I know being busy. I've been listening to them while I'm working, so every now and then I would get deja vu
@@MargaritoTrevino thanks! And don’t worry. We’ll be getting to the new stuff soon.
Next is Pac-Man, right?
Yep.
Next… Space Invaders and the Golden Age of Arcade Games?
That's right!
This is roughly my first gaming era. ❤
Great video, beautiful narration and does every aspect of the game justice. Thank you for this.
cause it has matteria.
I wish Rebirth had more emphasis on Jenova and had a side story or something about Cid's wife and their history
I fell in love with Tifa and her story as a kid. I honestly couldn't believe how much shit people were giving Tifa. I also used to say she's the MOST human character! Everyone went through crap in their past, so did she. She was trying to hold onto one of the only people left in her life while trying to be caring and not make things worse even though Cloud was saying wrong stuff. People can be like that irl just as well. Still, to this day, my fav character in the game
