We are retired, and we travel to places that were once thriving but are not doing so well now sharing our thoughts about the places we drive through. We focus on South Georgia, Middle Georgia, and other places surrounding us. Sometimes the places that we visit are doing well. We also visit places of interest like state parks, historical places, and museums. We try to be positive about the areas we go to because there is too much negativity in the world already.

Glad to see a more positive video about Dawson. Other vloggers are not so kind.
@@Cosmo4357-mj1tw the world is too ready to be negative. If you ever hear us say negative things, you will know that it must be really bad. We state in our videos that we never truly know what someone else is going through that produces the results that we see. Thanks for taking the time to respond and to watch.
I'm grateful for this video, but, if I may gently suggest positioning the camera in a direction other than the road in front of the driver, that would certainly be wonderful. I've seen the road view as a driver along 82 and just about have that memorized. I've watched many many similar videos and this appears to be the common position of a camera used in car travel videos. Everybody gets a beautiful view of the road with a commentary of what the driver sees, but the viewer never sees what is being described. 😢
@@ignatswinston5460 we are working on that. Thanks for the comment. We appreciate your viewing our video.
@@travelingwithhubert3240 It would be a bit tricky to achieve 100% of the time. And, probably not achievable unless a passenger handled the camera. Drivers need to pay attention to the driving.
I lived in Nahunta, loved the people in Nahunta, and all the surrounding areas (Hoboken, Hortense, Waynesville, Atkinson, Blackshear, etc.). Thankful the people are hanging on to their solid values that are superior to the "developing cities" that have corrupted all things good.

I believe the man who built Lake Collins was a Mr. Sheffield who owned a hardware store. He served on General Patton's staff during WWII. Streets are named after those he served with.

Like your videos of south Georgia. I love it down that way. I live in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, up in the northwest Georgia hills, by Chattanooga. I saw a Piggly Wiggly in this video, they are far and few between of those. We dont have those, Winn Dixie, and the nearest Kroger, is in Dalton, about 25 miles away. I used to be an over the road truck driver and would pass a Piggly Wiggly, up in northern West Virginia, right on the Ohio line. Very odd that I didn't see any no where else around those parts. Funny how different businesses are spread out, and some areas have none of the one and two or more of the one you never see. I've been mainly watching videos on TH-cam, of all the destruction, of western North Carolina lately, was nice to see one of yours to pop up. May God keep blessing you and your wife. Go Dawgs!!
@@joelknight9425 we appreciate your comment. The Piggly Wiggly was out of business. The town has less than 800 people so I am guessing it wasn't profitable to keep it going. Your observation about businesses is spot on. If you want to watch someone who has a channel that lives in Kingsport Tennessee you might try Big O's Reviewz and Blogz.
@@joelknight9425 my brother and I remodeled a building so that a Dairy Queen could move in. That was in Lafayette, which I believe is not far away from Fort Oglethorpe. We have been through there going to Chattanooga.

Thanks for trip down memory lane. Enjoyed recognizing some of old downtown area. I started school in Montezuma; kindergarden/grades 1 and 2 in mid-30's.
