I like the idea of the l5r format being used to make this play better.

As for the “matrix prophecy” being used in this game to describe the internet/cyberspace. That was first coined/used in the deadly assassin 1976 or maybe even doctor who origins. So Heresy weren’t the first to use in this way.

There is a copy of cyberpunk 1st edition 1988 on eBay but it’s like $230+ Would be cool to own a copy. The 2020 copy is awesome though

Wow this takes me back. I remember playing the og shogun game growing up. I was born in 86 so I always looked at it as a kid until one day I learned how to play it. I still have the game I just need to get a copy of samurai swords to have both. Love the game though. Great to see a video about it. 😊

Technically, the birds from Far Country predate The Dark One; but my favorite theory regarding Far Country is that it's in-universe fiction, written by an eccentric author as thanks for a mercenary company letting them take a look at some rare LAM units they had.

I prefer it just be a AI mech with a DNI. We've had enough with icky sapient birds and ape men. Keep sapient aliens out of Battletech and focused on human-centric stories.

Surely you mean Hex & Counter. "Hex & chit" sounds so strange to me, counters are pushed, chits are pulled. 😉

I have this and the second edition. I never actually played the second edition, but I really enjoyed the first edition. It’s an insanely creative idea for a game. Not to mention it gave me lots of movies to watch.

Great video! It would be cool to know more about the factions of this game. They seem a lot more varied in nature than the clans of Rokugan, and it's rather hard to find a good lore breakdown. What I can find seems to favor the Lot5R lore and mostly focuses on the Destroyer War and the fall of the Ivory Kingdom.

Was talking with em4 minatures. Soundclike they can get all the model. Got hold of the final all in one game rules that came out after this. When i get around to it will see if i can bring it back from the dead

11:34: The Rules-Tinkerer in me is immediately contemplating adapting this to any number of other systems that may be a better fit, like Tunnels & Trolls, or Advanced Fighting Fantasy, or even Meadows & Megaliths. I agree that it was likely designed with children in mind (no problem with that), but older, more sophisticated RPGers will likely crave something with a bit more rules-crunch, while still remaining accessible.
