Pulau, a small group of Indonesian islands northeast of the Riau Archipelago, has become a hotspot in the South China Sea disputes. Long neglected by the Indonesian government, Pulau’s residents face poor infrastructure and limited opportunities, fueling resentment. When China’s "nine-dash line" claims extended into the region, a separatist group, Pulau Merdeka, gained support by blaming Jakarta for the islands’ struggles. Rumored to be backed by China, the group has grown increasingly aggressive, launching attacks and calling for independence.

Hi all, the stuttering you can see especially in the last third of the video comes from a performance branch bug where the more detailed a terrain is (Sefrou-Ramal's terrain cell size is incredibly small compared to i.e. Altis), the harder it is for the engine to calculate simulated object position. In this case I believe engine thinks that everything with physx (cars, weapons of dead bodies etc) is underground and every couple of seconds moves them to "proper" position, so everything flies up, drops on the terrain again, and this behaviour loops forever. Sometimes restarting or saving and reloading a save helps, sometimes even alt-tab is enough, in my case nothing worked. Just wanted to point this out as this is not the scenario's issue. This and some other things are the sacrifices you have to do for multithreading support. :)
@honger thank you for your really nice playthroughs. I have seem a dozen of them the last few days. I wanted to ask though. Which mod change the "revive"/"medical" icons and add the "progress" bar for the revive? Is it build in the mission? And I would like to know your color and graphic settings since they make ArmA looks amazing!
Both icons and the progress bar are a part of diwako's Armor Plates System. You can even remove the armor plates and health regen and just stay with the health bar + revive only. It's almost plug and play if you don't want to mess with the settings and is compatible with every mission that does not have it's own damage reduction scripts (so basically everything that does not require ace or is not made by Zahl should cooperate just fine). There are multiple health overhauls on Workshop but this one seems to be the best suited for singleplayer so far (works with official campaigns). Regarding colors, in this video the color grading is enforced by the mission. I usually set the color preset (in Settings -> Video -> AA&PP) to "Livonia". I added 10% of saturation boost in post-process to this video to compensate for the upscaling and color pallette that make the recording less vivid. I run everything on ultra settings with PIP set to Low (rarely have to rely on it, I don't use picture-in-picture scopes, either 3D or 2D), HBAO+ Medium and FSAA 4x, and sampling set to 114%. Then I run "Real Lightning and Weather" and "Photon VFX" (with the Photon VFX Smoke patch) to make the sky and projectiles looking less artificial. If you have a powerful CPU (so something better than my Ryzen 5 2600x) then you don't need the smoke patch, because all it does is creating less smoke particles but bigger in size. If you don't do that already I highly recommend playing on the Performance branch of the game rather than Stable (you can select it in game's properties on Steam, in Beta tab), it finally makes Arma 3 use multithreading to some extent and the FPS gain can be significant (AMD X3D CPU family users report even 20+ more frames). It annoyed me that I ran one of the scripts twice, hence why you see the dialogues and the game saves repeat themselves. But, thanks again for uploading this, it was really fun to follow as you played through this with a really immersive playthrough. Would love to get some more feedback from you if you ever have the time.
I recorded this before I made a report on the repeated code and did not want to wait until you drop a fix. Regarding feedback I don't think there's much to add, you made a well designed campaign and having over 12k hours in this game I know what is possible and what to expect lol. If there's anything I could recommend is executing those black screen intros in the init file rather than - I assume this is the case - in triggers so there would be no delay between the scenario starting and the screen showing up. Right now it is a bit delayed, so you can see the "player view" for a half a second before the screen goes black. Maybe forcing player to have the weapon lowered when the cinematic bars are shown would be a good addition too, so they don't have to wave the weapon around while they can't move anywhere. And in the 12th mission I think the reinforcements did not show up? Or at least I could not see them on the map so I just gave them orders blind but did not notice if they actually came to the city. Their group markers were black rather than green, not sure what's that about. Everything else is on point, don't remember having any game breaking bugs or anything that would pull me out of immersion (except missing head shadows on these uniforms but it's just the mod issue and the author doesn't want to fix it)
@ thank you for that, I’ll use this while improving Purgatory as well as when moving forward! The reinforcements not showing up might be because the script fired twice at start, so they might have spawned on eachother and blown up. It works now
Nice video, by the way, a small suggestion, try out ToH Characters, it's basically a huge load of new heads and characters so it gives more diverse set of people instead of seeing like clones. And Bloodlust for gore.
Thanks for watching! To my knowledge the ToH heads have to be set up by the mission maker and they don't fall into the randomization pool, especially when unit's attributes are edited. Mission makers seem to avoid using this since there rarely is a scenario where you have to remember a face or at least look at it for a longer time. Regarding Bloodlust I used to have a ton of performance issues with it and I have been using Death Hit and Reactions mod instead. Bloodlust might not be compatible with the health system mod I'm using but I will look into it.

Thanks! I'm not a fan of RHS vehicles and I am never sure whether their vehicles still work or not so at some point I wasted a lot of rockets on one, but otherwise it was a very decent defensive mission
I forgot to mention, this playthrough was recorded on latest Arma 3's performance branch. It gave me a significant framerate boost on maps I used to barely see over 40FPS (like Tanoa), unfortunately there's a bug causing AI (and their equipment) to flicker when a new LOD is loaded, as you can see in some parts of the video. I'm writing this just to let people know that the mod preset I'm using is still (mostly) 0 bug-free and those visual glitches come from the game itself. I recommend switching to performance branch if you want some more multi-threading action, but you will have to cope with some multiplayer- and graphics-related issues until the foreseeable future. How to enable the Performance branch: Open Steam, right-click on Arma 3, select Properties -> Betas, choose "profiling - Performance Profiling Build" and wait until the new EXE file downloads. If you want to revert to the stable version of the game, just choose None. With Performance branch you can join servers that run either on Performance or Stable branch. Servers can use Performance branch too and also have no restrictions whatsoever. I use All-in-One Command Menu by Leopard20 to have more commanding options and have them reordered for better use, but most of the commands are in the base game.

I'm using Fawks' Enhanced NVGs for the different colour, and BettIR for the IR illuminator around your character and for the laser. The night vision system is 100% base game otherwise.

Sudetenland does not feature any spoken conversations. I added the voiceover to my videos in post-process so people watching the series on phones don't have to read the small Arma 3 chat text. I only added it to first few videos due to some technical issues, you can read about the voiceover stuff in the community section of my channel. :)

All tracks used come from Arma (Arma 3, Tanks and remastered OFP ones I reckon) but it's understandable someone might not like them, so music can be muted while playing.

Actually interesting seeing which path you took to get to the encircled troops. I thought everyone would go through the forest or close to the beach, so i filled the forest with slowly advancing turkish troops as well as the beaches were covered with boats and troops protecting the beachhead. Instead you just took a little hike :D
Being a veteran of your previous campaigns I assumed that if I go into that forest, especially right near the front line, I'll end up with my team decimated if not just me being a lone survivor. Also having high ground is often better than having concealment over one's head, and that smoking base was a bit intriguing too

When you call the boat, do you do that through pointing the position on your map, or do you give the "visual" target? Because the second one doesn't work as it should and boat might go somewhere else, when you call it from your map it should work. Also make sure you do not run any additional mods like AI overhauls. If you still have any issues with this mission I recommend asking its author on Steam or joining After East Wind discord and ask there, remember to give as much detail as possible - what mods do you run, how do you try to call the boat etc

Folks, the Avenger mission probably took me the longest, mainly because I had to replay it a bunch of times - either because the saves stopped working during the long gameplay or the scripts wouldn't go off. Because of the latter reason, I had to use a cheat and display the location of intels on the map. One or two were partially triggered, which is why it didn't show me the whereabouts of any of the LFF officers while there still were markers showing intel position. I had to search for the main target through trials and errors... So this is a 1,5h long video made from about 3hrs of footage (: Anyway, it's one of the funnier and more balanced community campaigns I've had chance to play, and I like the unusual, rather chaotic - in terms of conworlding and mixed equipment - Anthrax's "Continent in Arms" universe. It's a pity that Apollyon gave up on further improvements to the campaign, however I understand that to the extent.
